Enjoyed our visit with the chocolate wonderland!…read more Twenty minutes train ride from Zurich HBF. Then another 10 mins walk from the train station to the museum which is all good since we enjoyed walking along Lake Zürich. Interesting history of the evolution of Lindt chocolates. Audio guided tour and unlimited free tasting with their chocolate fountains for $22 entry ticket is worth it. Highly recommended when you're in Zurich.

Do NOT use the third party vendors who buy up the tickets and resell them for 3x the price... get it yourself but plan. We didn't, though... we didn't know what our schedule was. On their website, it says to not try to come if you don't have a reservation but they were nice enough to get us tickets for our family. We really took the time to listen to each and every thing on the audio guide and it was really impressive learning about things that we take for granted, like what it takes to just gather cocoa beans and the stages that goes through. Then, chocolate history in Europe then over to Switzerland and the region's history. It really makes you appreciate it. The tasting room is really fun, where it comes out as liquid and you try a variety of chocolate. Then, you see the other side of the room with the different flavors that go into the chocolate and it breaks you off different varieties of chocolate, which you can taste how fresh the different ingredients are. It really feels like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, but, like Willy Wonka, I wish they had trap doors for the many, many 'Augustus Gloop' types who steal sooooo much chocolate. You're supposed to check-in your bags for guys like the one we were following who was stuffing the samples over and over again into every pocket, then little bags he brought. It was crazy and so greedy. Then, later, you take a sample of each of their Lindor varieties but, yet again, the greedy people can't help but steal like crazy. It's a little depressing, honestly, how people can't just behave. Anyway, sorry about the rant... I just hate seeing them getting ripped off. It's a really nice tour and just being on the only site the company has ever been on is amazing history. Also, the café at the end is really great too... we had a great lunch. If you take the time to really listen to the history, you'll need a solid two hours, possibly three if you want to relax and have lunch. This is the perfect rainy-day activity.

Yelp Review 2023 #22:…read more Läderach is one of my favorite chocolatiers in the whole world. I eat chocolate everyday, and I travel the world sampling chocolates. I've been to Belgium which some say has the best chocolate. I've been to France, Italy, UK, Germany, Finland, and Ecuador - they do have some good chocolate. But I will always want Swiss chocolate. There are three chocolatiers in Switzerland that I love. I like Läderach because they don't overcomplicate their combinations. And they give you free samples. You can buy boxes of chocolates, truffles by the bag, chocolate slabs by the gram. My favorites are the chocolate with whole hazelnut slabs, and chocolate cornflake slabs. They have a nice selection of chocolate + hazelnut so I get a box of those in different varieties. This particular location is at the Central Station which is convenient. There is another Läderach outside Central Station. Whichever location you go to, you can expect the same great experience and some of the finest chocolates that will ever touch your mouth.

Yes, chocolate in Switzerland. There are so many options, and many of them are very good,…read moreespecially if you like milk chocolate. This place has some excellent dark and white chocolate in addition to the traditional milk. You can get a huge variety of truffles, or they have slabs of chocolate with various inclusions like candied oranges, blackberry, roasted hazelnuts or almonds, or even some more exotic varieties with things like pink peppercorns or pistachios. The people at Läderach pride themselves on FRESHNESS, so I wouldn't recommend overbuying. Not that it was much of a problem for us: the first bag was gone within a day, so we had to plan a return trip before we left the country and quadrupled our "pilot" purchase. If you need to spend those extra CHF before you leave out, there are worse things to spend it on... just be sure to stay under the duty free limit :D
