Stew Chicken

I've decided to have RyRy's again recently. Even though my last experience here wasn't the best. It occurred to me that the laughable portion sizes in my last unsatisfactory UBER EATS order a while back, could've possibly been due to my food being tampered with AKA "Snacked on" by the driver prior to delivering it. My most recent order was great, no complaints. Food was tasty and portions were good. In addition, RYRY's has now implemented tamper-proof paper shopping bags that are stapled!! I LOVE this!! I soooo look forward to ordering from RYRY's again!

I usually get the jerk chicken meal or curry chicken meal. Today I tried the jerk chicken sandwich and it was so good. Jerk chicken on a toasted bun with cole slaw on it and another type of sauce. It was so good.

RASTA PASTA

I came here earlier this month for lunch. I heard about RyRy's via TikTok. I didn't inquire about the jerk chicken sandwich that went viral. I let my eyes decide. I had the sweet chili wings and rice. They were crispy sweet and not too spicy. The meat was also fresh and well cooked. I hate when wings are fried too hard. The oxtail and Rasta pasta looked really good but I wasn't that hungry One chooses what they want from a steam table. I will definitely be back to try more dishes. My food was packed to go but I remained in the dining room / food court. It was a little noisy but ok. This place feels like a hidden gem because it isn't on the main strip or Jamaica Avenue

BRAISED SLOW COOKED OXTAIL (LARGE)

I decided to pick this for our company weekly lunch. This was the spot I been hearing about. First off. I want to say this is probably one of the BEST places I've ever eaten. The cook did not skimp on the portions and the flavors were spot on! The infamous Ryry's Jerk Chicken Burger with that slaw. OMG! instantly melts in your mouth! That jerk seasoning was perfect! When people tell you the juices run down your mouth at first bite. THEY DON'T LIE! I can probably eat 5 of these no problem! The Ox Tail was tender and thick cut. I don't know about you but I usually don't order this cause in other places they skimp on the meats or give you these thin ass slices or it's so salted that you need to dive into water just to wash it out of your mouth. But NOT here! Again. SEASONED well, cooked perfectly. Fall off the bone but not where it instantly melts. Got that tender bite to it which I love. Definitely recommend. Only thing I would side note is that I thought the Large would be in the round tin foil? but that's just on me. Was still a good amount. I always wanted to try the rasta pasta. I can't honestly can't compare it to anyone else. Since this is a first for me. But if Rasta Pasta be tasting this GOOD. I for sure will be getting that more often! Hats off to the chef! Cause Jamaica Queens don't know they got themselves a gold mine over here. Price is affordable, food is good. Don't see that often these days. I am an instant fan to this spot!

This is the inedible portion of my goat

Really disappointed. I ordered a small Rasta pasta with curry goat. The pasta was ok, nothing special. And the flavor of the goat was pretty good but it was sooo hard to eat. It was not trimmed properly and it made most of it inedible. So I basically paid $15 for pasta with gravy

Kale salad 20/20! So good!

Ryrys Kitchen! Such a delightful place to visit! Located in the food market on Jamaica Ave. The Kale salad is Remarkably refreshing! The Rasta Pasta is tasty and the oxtail rice and peas also. They fill up the plates it's very tasty. Will return for sure when I'm in the area. 10/10

This was an uber eats order but jeez, this thing was delicious. It came nice and hot in the fresh and juicy way not in a microwaveable way wow this gonna be my go to from now on. I only took a star of because I didn't receive the cabbage. All and all amazing taste and flavor. Even the rice. Keep doing yall thing. I would recommend all day everyday.

Saw them on Instagram, was in the neighborhood that same day so I had to stop by. Staff was really nice and friendly. Ordered the Jerk Chicken Sandwich and Rasta Pasta. Had to wait 20 minutes for the sandwich which he warned me up front about it but it was worth the wait. Asked me if I wanted Cabbage with the pasta so I did. It was so creamy. Have to go back and try their other menu items!!

CURRY GOAT (MEDIUM ) spicy CURRY SHRIMP (SM)

Hi, so this is my first time leaving a review for a restaurant on Yo today I went and ordered curry goat and some shrimp now the shrimp was very flavorful very spicy and very good. I love it and it was in a nice amount container for $10 but the curry goat which was about $14 was a bit bland not spicy and did not have the greatest flavor And now I have had curry goat from a bunch of places, but specifically this place I would not definitely order this. I feel like I should've went with the jerk chicken from the previous review, but that is OK. Other than that I do feel like the flavor could be more great in the food. Service was good and I did like the ambience. The portions was not bad but I do feel like the flavor could be great in some of the other dishes I would love to try again for a different meal and see how everything goes. Thank you very much.

Have seen RyRy on Instagram for a long time and finally made the trip to try it out. It is located inside a food court (Jamaica Market). Service was great! Food was excellent! The curry goat was sooo tender! Their kale salad is made to order. Portions were very generous and the prices were great. Will definitely be returning. Parking is tough though.

Oxtail rice and peas

I first learned of RyRy's from their Taste of Queens booth at CitiField and all I can say is that their Jerk Chicken Sandwich is the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. A must try if you're at CitiField. The slaw on top went well with the chicken. So that led me to try RyRy's on Grubhub for lunch on my work for home day. I ordered jerk chicken empanadas, Caribbean shrimp tacos and the oxtails rice and peas. They ran out of empanadas and tacos. And no substitution was offered. The food was delicious and will have to give RyRy's a try in person.

Today I used Yelp to search up local restaurants since I'm in Jamaica, Queens, and this was recommended in the search. It did not disappoint. I ordered rice and peas with jerk chicken, veggies and ox tail gravy. By far the most tastiest rice and peas I've had the steam veggies has more than cabbage, which included kale, parrots snow peas cabbage, and it was seasoned well. I got the rice and peas with ox take gravy and the grave was very flavorful too. The chicken was a little on the drier side, and a little chewy, and could have been cooked more, (it wasn't undercook), it's just want not falling off the bone, but still had a good amount of flavor. This Jamaican rest is not in my top 3 of Jamaican food.

There were two young ladies standing behind the bar but no one greeted us. We stood by the door for maybe 5 mins before we were acknowledged and asked if we wanted to sit a table or the bar. It took another 10 mins or so before WE had to ask for a menu. After that, the young lady that served us was good and personable. The ambiance in here is pretty chill. They had a DJ that played a good mix of music. They also have a bunch of games like jenga, giant uno, connect four etc. They have happy hour M-F 4-7pm. $5 shots, $8 rum punch and margaritas (+ $1 per flavor), and $10 L.I.T, $10 wings & fries and $12 shrimp & fries (+ $2 per flavor). Drinks: We did the margaritas which are $8 +$1 for flavors. We had the passion fruit, mango, and raspberry flavors. Passion fruit was my fave, mango was a tad bit sweet but when I asked the server to add a shot to fix it, she did. Food: we had the lemon pepper and buffalo wings and fries. The wings were good but the lemon pepper flavor was light and just sprinkled on. The crab legs were really good! It's cooked in a curry sauce, I just wished they actually served it in the sauce. I had to ask for melted butter. We weren't really hungry but from the few things I had, it seems their food is good. I would go back to try some more menu items.

If…read moreyou do go, the best things to order are the Guyanese patties (chicken or beef), a refreshing coconut water, and the currant rolls, which tend to be the highlights. Personally, though, I'm not much of a fan of the rest of the food. Those few items stand out, but overall the menu didn't quite win me over. Now you officially have the Supreme Touch

**A MUST VISIT RESTAURANT IN LITTLE GUYANA** **DELICIOUS…read moreFOOD & BAKERY ITEMS** A SPECIAL PART OF QUEENS Spanning about thirty blocks around Liberty Ave in Richmond Hill, is a very interesting neighborhood known as Little Guyana. An area where one of the largest populations of Guyanese immigrants reside in New York, along with others hailing from Trinidad, Jamaica, India, and Asia. As such, it's a bustling Indo-Caribbean mixing pot neighborhood, with - in some areas - a times square vibe. And most importantly, home to multiple restaurants, Carribean bakeries, clothing shops, grocery stores, and even Guyanese style Chinese food restaurants (Yes, that really is a thing!) EXPERIENCE LITTLE GUYANA AT SYBIL'S A fantastic way to start off your exploration of Little Guyana is to visit Sybil's Bakery. Here, Sybil, an expat from Guyana, along with her relatives and children, have been serving Guyanese specialties to the Richmond Hill community for almost 50 years. Offering steam tables filled with fantastic food, Bakery items, and authentic drinks. THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT Ask someone from Guyana, and they'll tell you that Sybil's is a top spot to visit in the neighborhood. Because of this, the restaurant can sometimes become very crowded, with a line spilling out the door, and down the sidewalk. So it's best not to visit during peak times if possible. And as it's a small restaurant with no tables, you must enter, grab a ticket from the dispenser, and then wait for your number to be called. And while waiting, it's a great time to check the various offerings in the steam table area, take a peak at all the bakery items and patties, and peruse the large menu above the counter. And to be honest, because of the large number of choices here, you really need to do this, so you'll have somewhat of an idea what to order when you're called. YOU HAVE TO TRY... Just about everything is delicious here, so all the standard Caribbean dishes, such as Jerk Chicken, Stewed Chicken, Fried Chicken, Oxtail, Curries and sides are all great choices. And then another wonderful item to try here, is Guyanese Pepper Pot, a traditional meat stew with a dark spiced gravy. And don't forget to order a tasty Roti to eat along with any saucy dishes you order. In addition, the fantastic Guyana Style Chinese items, such as the Chow Mein (fried noodles) and Fried Rice - which are my favorite- are seasoned exceptionally well with Caribbean spices, making these dishes hit differently, in comparison to other restaurants. Of course there are regular Jamaican style Beef Patties and Chicken Patties being served here, which are very tasty. But the Guyana style Patties, which are round, and packed full with either beef or chicken, & veg are scrumptious and unique. With these, the crust is more similar to that of a chicken pot pie, and the generous filling is fantastic. Meanwhile, because these are so friggin good, you will see people order them here by the dozen, to take home. So don't pass these up. Another popular choice, especially during lunch, are Sybil's famous Fish Sandwiches and Jerk Chicken Sandwiches. These start out with either fried fish or jerk chicken, along with lettuce, tomato, tartar sauce, another slightly sweet special sauce, and then some hot sauce, on a wonderful, mildly sweet and soft Coco Bread. Sybil's makes these sandwiches here, non-stop all day long, and there's a deliciously good reason why! BUT SYBIL'S IS A BAKERY ALSO! A trip to Sybil's for most people usually entails purchasing food, and then also Guyanese style baked goods. Some items of note, are the fresh Tennis Rolls, a dense, slightly sweet roll famous for being eaten with a nice slab of cheese in between, creating the best cheese sandwich ever. And if you enjoy cheese, the Cheese Roll pastry, the Cheese Pie tart and the Cheese Scone are also wonderful. And some examples of the sweeter style baked goods here, are the famous Guyana Pineapple Tarts and Guava Tarts which are a must try. Along with the Carrot Cake, Cassava Cake, Cherry buns, Coconut Drops, Chinese Cakes, Currant Rolls, and Solara, just to name a few. I LOVE THIS PLACE All in all, Sybil's is not a perfect restaurant. There are no tables to eat-in, it's usually crowded, and the ordering process can feel a bit rushed and intimidating your first time here. Moreover, if your looking for the best Trinidad style Doubles and Roti, then - without a doubt - Trinciti, Trini Delight and Singh's Roti Shop are better destinations. (Look for my previous review of Singh's Roti Shop if you have a chance). But let me tell you, if I am anywhere near Little Guyana, and I'm hungry, It's a good chance that I'm stopping at Sybil's for some of my favorite food and some magical baked items to take home. Because I really love this place, and if you get to know this unique restaurant like I do, I bet you may fall in love also.
