Hitch installation - missing parts, failed to re-assemble, unexplained damage and told that a…read morefamily emergency led to a unqualified employee finishing the work without being told. I paid U-Haul to install a hitch with wiring on my vehicle. When I picked up my car, everything looked fine. But later, I noticed the rear bumper was misaligned on the passenger side and something was hanging loose underneath. What I found: * About half of the screws, pins, and clips were missing, loose, or not properly attached to the anchor * The bumper had unexplained cutting damage in areas that shouldn't have been cut for the installation * Parts were beginning to fall down while I was driving on the highway The runaround: I contacted U-Haul when this happened (about 60 miles from home) and advised I needed a tow truck, but that was not provided. I temporarily reattached and secured what I could and contacted corporate when no one called me back days later. What they told me: The general manager eventually apologized and explained that the technician had a family emergency and left early on installation day. A customer service rep (CSR) finished the job instead. This was over a month prior, and no one ever told me about this problem. Where things stand now: I bought replacement parts myself and had them reinstalled by U-Haul, however afterward I got conflicting statements and a lack of accountability, despite their initial admission of fault. I've billed U-Haul for the time, mileage, and the parts I purchased while also documenting the issues, calls, replacement parts and emails. My future trust in this company will depend on how they respond and I'll update this review.

Went in because the Ubox that was scheduled to arrive at our house yesterday never showed. All so he could say that it did show in the system we had one reserved and that delivery was confirmed. But we needed to call in again and re-confirm it. Guy at the counter said he couldn't schedule it and I told him I came in because I was on hold for an hour and it was faster to just drive in. Wouldn't take that, said had to call in and wait to speak to someone who could schedule it. Even though I booked it online and was given a time by someone on the phone on Tuesday. Place is a joke and their call center isn't any better. Wish Pods had an office here because I am done with these clowns.

Went for a passport appointment, I don't actually think there is any benefit to having an…read moreappointment, as you still must wait in the general post office line. Only one employee handling passport applications and pictures (she was great, though) and zero signage on where to go for passports, even though only one employee is handling them. When I got there I waited only about 10 minutes, but while I was waiting about 15-20 people got behind me in line without any movement made. I hope this post office gets more staff members and is able to upgrade their signage at some point soon. They don't make passport appointments intuitive for dummies like me! Side note: Apple Maps takes you to the employee only parking lot instead of the general parking lot, not sure why that is.

I've had to go into the office to get my packages 3 times now within the last week due to the…read moredriver not wanting to get out of their vehicle or saying there was a "dog" issue, when there's no animal issues in my neighborhood. Although the customer service in the office is very slim, they are helpful at least. This seems to be an ongoing driver issue. Very frustrating to have to go pick up my packages when they can easily be dropped off.

Then asked for an additional $150 to dump. When challenged they said they were going to warehouse the sofa, but we could go to the dump to pay the disposal fee, probably betting we would cave in. We decided to go to the dump to see the real cost. Based on weight $10 was the cost of disposal. Of course, the pick-up immediately changed to an hourly rate to include trip to the dump. The advertised Richland Land Fill rate is $10 per load up to 1200#, surely this outfit knows this. They advertise "Veteran Owned"; with claims like that I'd expect straight shooters. As a disabled veteran, I don't expect special treatment just fair; honor stated quotes. Edited: Received phone call from vendor who was somewhat upset over the above review. A veteran's discount was then offered but not accepted, again not looking for special treatment. If real, discounts should be advertised or offered at time of job request. Edited review to remove text that bothered them. Of course, my "claim" to be a disabled veteran was questioned...real class act. DD-214 and VA disability classification available upon request. I'll be gone in a couple years so my concern for their feelings is rapidly fading.

The driver Shelby did amazing with this issue as well.
