I contacted Dale regarding a leak in my kitchen. They had installed the roof 3 years ago and I expected to have him show up to look at why the roof was leaking. Nope. I set numerous texts, a voice message, contacted him on his web site and then I found the email with the warranty information. I have sent him several emails regarding the leak. I explained that the leak only happened once on June 10 in the height of that storm. We have not had any other leaks but I don't understand why the first one happened. Used them last year to roof a porch roof. They came and quoted a reasonable price, were there to do the work the next day. I was happy with the quality. Unfortunately they left all their garbage on the ground. I had nothing but excuses over a week why they couldn't come to clean the area. Did show up for about 5 min. Drove away when they saw the driveway blocked. Did not ask why or when it would be clear, made no arrangements to come back another time. Couldn't get away fast enough. Tried to call them back. Just more excuses. And they asked for full payment for only part of the job being done. Had to arrange my own clean up. Horrible experience. I wouldn't hire them again and would definitely not recommend them to anyone. read more

Years ago I had called Rycon when I noticed a leak in my roof at my rental property in Hamilton. Dale fixed it up and it never leaked again. At that time I was told I would probably get about another 3 years out of my roof. Following that advice, I decided it was time to replace it before having to pay someone for another expensive drywall repair. I phoned Rycon and mentioned the job they did years ago and was surprised they remembered me. Erica told me about many new products on the market and addressed my concerns about being protected from my biggest fear, wind storms! I received a detailed easy to understand quote and I thought the price was fair. I would normally get a few quotes, but I only wanted Dale to be looking after me. When he did the first job, I remember how passionate Dale was on doing quality work and making sure I was completely satisfied. On my scheduled day, Dale and crew showed up and quickly got to work. The helpers introduced themselves and started unloading the truck. Another lead hand on the job, Mike, also let me know of his years of experience and that I'm in good hands. When they stripped the shingles off, they uncovered a lot of poor wood replacement and patch jobs that has been done to this 100 year old house. I knew there were going to be some surprises and my heart sank. A big smile across Mike's face calmed me down immediately. He had no concerns about not being able to fix my roof... his concern was that there were people who call themselves roofers, do terrible work and take people's money for it. I didn't have a single worry for the rest of the job. Neighbours on the street paid so much more hiring larger companies only to receive satisfactory work. I saw the fancy brochure their quotes came in, but the quote itself had no where near as much detail as the quote Erica had sent. I saved quite a bit of money and had two of the best roofers in the city fitting in replacement wood, wrapping the deck and putting more than the required nails per shingle in because of my paranoia of the high winds. I saw my old bent roof vents being tossed in the bin and Dale walking by with thick brand new ones telling me these were the best. It was a long day but they finished the job and left no mess behind. Roofing is one of the toughest jobs out there. Dale and Mike LOVE what they do. The last thing I'd want are guys who don't want to be there doing careless work.
