I hired them to fix a leak that was coming into the office in my house. It took a very long time for them to finally get somebody to inspect the problem, but naturally they asked for inspection cost up front. David came an diagnosed the problem and they quoted me $2k to do some caulking, which is a rip off but If it solved the problem I was ok with it. The issue was not solved, water still came into the office. They sent David again, and he diagnosed a different problem this time, and now they want to me to another $2.5k to do more caulking with "no guarantee" that it will fix the problem. This company is a bunch of scam artists. They will over quote you on things and then ask for even more money when it comes to actually doing the job. In my most recent situation with them they left damage on my property and insisted to me that it wasn't their fault which it would be impossible to be anyone else's. Then they will run circles in trying to tell you these "fixes" they have, basically offering hush money in order for you to get out of their way. Not long after Jeremy arrived and gave us the quote, Carlos and Brandon and crew arrived to replace our cedar shake roof. I was sad to see it go, but the new shake chosen looks great. The work was done quickly and great care was taken to not squish any of my flowers around the house. I really appreciated that! Didn't hire. On the phone they tried to sell me a $2k "inspection". I asked what the inspection would accomplish. "It will tell us what other work we need to do." Then they tried to book me in, without any sort of agreement on my behalf, a new roof and eves troughs. When I said "whoa, why are you trying to sell me a new roof and eves troughs" the response was (verbatim) " what? You don't want a new roof and eves troughs? D'Angelo is a terrible company that I would avoid at all costs. I had them come to fix a leak in my roof. When the guy arrived he asked where the leak was but refused to even look at the leak from the attic to get an idea of where it was. He then went up on the roof for 8 minutes and laid down some roofing sealant (roofers tar in a tube) and left. The whole visit was 13 minutes and he never even told us he was done. That visit cost about $380. I went up on the roof and the container from the sealant was left on the roof so I cleaned up after him too. The next big rain it leaked again so I called D'Angelo. They offered to come out for another leak repair and I could pay another $380 for them to try again. They would not try again without another payment because no warranty on leak repair and then they had the balls to try and sell me a new roof because that would for sure fix the problem. I wouldn't trust them for anything ever. Scum company that I will forever recommend against. Hopefully my warning will lose them more than the $380 they cost me. read more

This year I discovered they did not apply a drip edge around the roof before applying the shingles... 6 years ago they refused to put underlayment before applying the shingles... said I did not need it because of slope... now I am paying for it! My spouse and I (30 years old, working professionals) live in Guelph, we unfortunately went with Daneglo for roof and eavestrough replacement. The work they did on our home was sub par to say the least. Pick any item below and ask yourself if there is a better option out there: - Major red flag, they left moldy plywood on our roof structure when that was part of the quote to have replaced as it was a health concern. They replaced some boards but obviously tried cutting corners and left old plywood and thought we wouldn't notice - Exposed plywood on the exterior and missing flashing, this will cause water damage - New solar Vents were put in the wrong spots, this is such a simple thing to correct but they didn't, inefficient and a waste of money - When the roof was finished they missed an entire row of shingles?? Not sure how that's even possible - We had them blow in insulation for our attic space, it looked like a 5yo went crazy with a blower and didn't know what they were doing, super low spots and high spots, inefficient - The roofing crew left a HUGE mess, I expected some cleanup and my own walk around for nails, this was insane though. The completed roof was littered with nails, eaves were full of nails, screws, and scrap shingle pieces, shards of scrap metal from eaves installer (we have kids, there was tiny scrap metal and nails all over our yard) - Their dump bin sat on our driveway overflowing for an additional week after I kept telling them to pick it up - BIGGEST red flag. I emailed them and mentioned a few things needed to be looked at, we even had plans for future business on our windows and doors. So I thought they would fix a few of our concerns. They DID NOTHING, emailed and texted a few times, dragged me along and no responses at all now. How many calls does it take to get a quote for my roof to be fixed? I have a semi-detached house in the Greenwood/Coxwell. I asked if they do work in Toronto and they said they do. Called Thur March 29 and spoke with Ali. She said they would come Mon April 2 after the long-weekend to view the property. Called Mon April 2 just to double-check to see if they are coming, spoke with Sandro and he stated they would come Mon to give a quote. Called Tues April 3 and spoke with Jessie, and he said they have already come to the property and working on the quote. Now it has been one week, and they have not called me with the quote. I called Canadian Roofing Company and they were able to call me back the same-day and came to my property 2 days later. This would have been a $20K to $25K job for you. Please ensure your staff are more organized, I will not be working with Hamilton Roofers/D'Angelo and sons in the future. read more

****READ THIS BEFORE YOU GET WORK WITH D'Angelo!!**** Let's start with the basic background. I am a first time home owner and a young female. Earlier this year the home I had just purchased was leaking into my attic and into my spare bedroom. I called a lot of places, but only D'Angelo got back to me. My boss had given them a recommendation so I thought - what could go wrong? The roof cost me 18K - the house is less than 900 sq feet. The front eavestroughs cost me an additional 2K I was quoted with such a high cost due to it being "2-3 days of work". I was shocked on a Saturday when I stepped out for a couple hours to do some running around, that the roof had been done in this time. As you can see with the front part, it still looked old so I didn't even know the roof had been done until a conversation with the receptionist at D'Angelo days later - they needed to remove the bin off my lawn had kept blocking them in. After much arguments back and forth, and even an unsuccessful complaint to the BBB (D'Angelo stands behind their work!) - here I am. In the photos you can see, the front part is still rotten (apparently this wasn't included in my quote, I'd love to understand how I was supposed to decipher the parts of a roof when I am not a roofer. D'Angelo is blaming me for not knowing this and thus standing behind their work). What is absolutely worse is that I have had them out TWICE to fix the eaves and it is no better. I had the work done in the first place due to the water leaking onto my front porch and it being a safety hazard. Well, the second time they came and said the front part that is rotten - this is why it's still leaking. I brought another roofer in who said they did a terrible job as the water is pooling in this area and thus leaking. Do NOT use these guys. They took advantage of me and I was left with a 20K bill and STILL a nice little ice hazard in the cold months. read more

They came to fix a water leak on roof which appears only during/after heavy rain. On the first inspection, they were not able to find where the leak was coming from but they suggested to work on two windows (re-flashing and caulking). Just after the job was done on windows I was not able to see if the leak was fixed or even if the windows were the problem (no heavy rain after the fix or water test was done). Once the leak came back, D'Angelo sent the technician again for inspection. Again, he was not able to find where the leak was coming from. I suggested to pour water and finally we found that the leak was coming on the siding (a corner where the roof joint the siding). We were agree that this leak was most likely same as before and he will report to management to proceed. Unfortunately, we could not water test the windows until the leak from the siding area is fixed so at this point I don't if the windows still leaking or not or even worst maybe that fix was never necessary. Finally, in a phone call with sales manager, he told me that he is not wiling to send more people to work in my roof since this time is on the siding and not in the area that they worked before (the windows). In summary, I paid for a job that probably was not necessary, D'Angelo took my money and go away without fixing the problem. Be careful with this people ask for everything in writing specially which warranty/warrant they give and for how long. read more

Above and beyond service - from the moment I called to the conclusion of the leak investigation! I called about a leak in a 12 year old roof as soon as it was discovered. Installed by another roofer, no longer in business. Spoke with Taylor who while setting up an appointment a week out noticed that she had someone in the area who could fit me in same day. David Vandenberg arrived to investigate - came wearing appropriate covid protection - and was super helpful. He explained what he was doing and what he found including photos. He found some loose nails around the plumbing stack - hammered them in and tested the minor repair with the hose. Looks like it's fixed easy peasy. Just an awful company that will take your money and run. $600 for a 10 minute visit (oh and pay up front of course) to replace shingles and your requests will be ignored, you'll get no guarantees of work, no feedback except some photos, and if they cause damage to your roof as I suspect they did on mine, you'll be S.O.L. read more

D'Angelo Roofing re-shingled the roof of my bungalow. The job looked good and I paid them $5,000. Some months later water stains appeared on the bedroom carpet. I called D'Angelo Roofing. They examined the room and said there were no leaks in the roof even though every time it rained the carpet was wet. They came twice more still denying any problem with the roof. I finally had the wall opened up. After removing dripping wet insulation, there appeared two fairly large holes in the roof. D'Angelo staff came, repaired the roof and promised their staff would take care of repairing the wall and replacing the carpet. After several phone calls and delays they finally told me they were too busy to do the repairs and I would have to get three estimates and submit them for their approval. By this time I was fed up. My bed was in the TV room, my bedroom furniture in the dining room, my clothes scattered everywhere and the bedroom was a shambles.I could wait no longer and had the wall repaired and the carpet replaced. I then sent D'Angel details of my out of pocket expenses which were fair and reasonable. They ignored my correspondence and follow up requests several times. When they finally answered they said that while they were responsible for the repairs, I did not follow the "proper procedure" and they refused to reimburse me. I am a 95 year old woman, living independently in my home, and on a fixed income. Paying for a new roof, did not entail repairing, and replacement of the walls interior of my house, with no compensation. No action to resolve this claim has been made by D'Angelo Roofing. Check out 195 Roxborough Ave. Front porch..(Near Cannon & Ottawa). They were to repair any problems (in contract) before shingling....they came a day early laid on the new roof and said they had no problems when the owner asked if everything went without trouble. The ROOF droops and they ignored the problem. Still have time for small claims court. Refused to correct it. Then said it would cost about $750, when they got their guys to look they then said $1500. This should of been done from the beginning. They came unannounced and no one was there to question the non repairs. read more

My husband and I had our roof re-shingled as well as new down spouts installed almost 3 years ago to the day. The work they did was fine although they left roofing nails every where, shingle 'dust' all on our lawn and patio, as well as litter scattered throughout our backyard and the colour of the down spouts they installed did not match our eaves troughs. My husband contacted D'Angelo's via email immediately after we realized that the down spout colour did not match the rest of our house....we JUST heard back from the VP, Andrew, about this problem about a month ago. How are we only just hearing about getting this fixed now? If I could give them a '0' I would have. Someone by the name of Austin came to our house without us being home - left Andrew's business card with his contact info hand written on it asking, and I quote directly from the hand writing on the card, "Hello. This is Austin. Pls call + let me no black or white down spouts. Thank". This is how the company want to represent themselves? By sending someone who has no concept of a) How to properly contact a customer or leave a professional message and b)WHY would be want black down spouts fully knowing we have white eaves troughs? This entire process has been SO unprofessional, and not to mention a HUGE waste of our time, and are so incredibly disappointed in the customer service we have received (if you can even call it that). This SHOULD have been resolved as soon as the initial work was completed yet we're still waiting for this resolution. I will never recommend this company to anyone ever. Our experience with D'Angelo Roofing was horrible and can only best be described as outrageous. We purchased a home in Brantford to renovate for resale and integral to our offer to purchase was our understanding that the roof needed to be repaired and re-shingled as part of the renovation. We obtained 3 quotes from local roofing companies and chose D'Angelo after their Technical Sales Representative inspected our roof both inside and outside and provided us a quote estimate. The quote anticipated both the need for sheeting replacement as required and re-shingling the entire roof. The job was completed on time but we were not satisfied with the look which can best be described as wavy. We had a Technical Representative return to address our concerns and were advised that there was nothing further that they would do to satisfy us. This part of the job cost us $7000. The house was sold with a condition of a satisfactory home inspection. To our surprise and horror, the purchasers home inspector advised us that inside the sheeting on the roof was covered in mold and that there were holes in the sheeting that had been shingled over. In order to complete the sale, we were obligated to remove and replace all of the roof sheeting, the insulation and the shingles which we had D'Angelo complete after several discussions and under warranty of the previous work. The work crew completed the work and advised us of some broken trusses which they thankfully repaired (the cause of the waviness we had drawn their attention to previously). After the house was already sold this work cost us an additional $11,000. The original estimate that we agreed to had no conditions or limitations placed on it by us so we felt that it was simply a matter of willful oversight of the main roofing issues and no intention to provide us with the solutions that we required and a matter of incompetency on the part of the first job's Technical Sales Evaluation and the first work crew's contentment to shingle over the obvious defects in the roof. The original $7000 quote turned into an $18,000 fiasco. read more

We lost shingles in a windstorm 10 days ago. I called D'Angelo immediately, and was told they would come asap. They arrived the next day, but told me their ladder wasn't big enough. Seemed odd, but they said they'd return in a couple of hours. I called the next day, told them I was concerned we could end up with water damage if not repaired, and was told they'd be there that day. After the weekend passed, I called again. Promised they'd be there before the end of the day. I called Tuesday morning on the eve of a major snowstorm, and they promised crew would be there before noon. The storm arrived at noon, the roofer came at 3 and said it was too slippery (no kidding eh!), and promised to be back Wednesday. It's Friday, I checked my credit card statement and they billed me for the work!! I've called every day, and the promises keep coming. All I can say is .... there are a lot of good roofing companies out there, why expose yourself to this kind of treatment! read more
