First time here to have a wisdom tooth removed. Assistant was quiet, just gave instructions and…read moreasked needed questions. When Dr. Petrunich came in, he checked the tooth and quickly said that it looks as it hasn't fully grown out yet (not true as my referring dentist informed otherwise and I saw my xrays). I heard him whisper something to the dental assistant behind me. That made me feel very uncomfortable, made me wonder why he would whisper in the presence of a patient. He then began injecting numbing medicine. He gave me three injections (waited about a minute between each one. I had the feeling he was rushing as it was late in the afternoon) and numbing never happened. He eventually said he was going to tug on it a little to see if I would feel anything; it hurt as if metal was being pulled through my tooth. He then said that he is going to have to reschedule so they could put me to sleep. I have had several dental surgeries done in the past and never put to sleep or given anything to calm me. Ever since he pulled on my wisdom tooth, I have had random ear pain on that same side. I left Petrunich's office and scheduled an appointment with another dental surgeon I had seen in the past, even though he was now out of network. He immediately popped the wisdom tooth out within minutes. Never felt any pain or aches afterwards either.

I was put in a room and asked to sit in the dentist's chair and an assistant came to get my history - stated that I should be on insulin for my diabetes - couldn't understand that I was on metformin. Said she was not sure they could extract the tooth. After sometime , I got uncomfortable in the chair, so I stood up and looked out the window. At 245pm the doctor showed up and yelled at me for standing up - when I explained that I was uncomfortable due to the delay, he yelled that this was a doctor's office and I what did I expect! Stay away from this arrogant man and his practice!!!

When we arrived we were told no one is allowed with the patient. Had we known that, she could have prepared herself. However, instead of this doctor trying to make her feel comfortable, his behavior was appalling, he starts barking about this is his domain and his rules and we can make another appointment and he'll do her surgery under his rules in his domain. So needless to say, we left and will not be going back. P*** poor patient care and consideration is the best way I can describe this situation.

Scared because the last wisdom tooth I had pulled was a horrible experience. I got there was greeted by the staff. All friendly and patient. He kept saying, "I don't want to scare you", but by saying that to me over and over, that's exactly what he did. When my ortho tried to call him to discuss the situation, he would not return his calls. He seemed to be arrogant and kept telling me to be sedated for the procedure, which was going to cost me an extra $1000, like what??? Also, I was pleasantly surprised with a $150.00 consultation fee when I checked out. No one advised there would be a consult fee at any point in time, and I also had to wait over 2 months for the appointment. Who even charges for consultations these days??? This guy is a crook! Do your research and find better! Total waste of my time.

I wondered if it was to cover the screams of the patients. After 45 minutes of waiting, I was very overstimulated. The other 2 patients in the waiting room with me agreed. When I was finally escorted back, I asked the woman what was with the insanely loud music. She smiled and said, "We always play loud music." I waited in the chair for a few minutes, and heard the doctor down the hall laugh and say, "Well, I'll just turn it up, then!" He came into the room and asked how I was. I joked that I was a bit deaf from the music, but otherwise ok. I said that I had been expecting some relaxing spa type music. He said, "Well I've only had 3 patients complain about it in 5 years." I said, "Oh, well you must have some very kind patients who don't speak up about it." He said "It's a hippa thing." I gave him a skeptical look and said I'd been in many doctor's offices, all of which have hippa laws, and never heard loud music for privacy's sake. He said, "Don't blame me for your anxiety!" As another reviewer here said, VERY condescending. Medical conditions are not something a doctor should joke about, and even people who normally don't have anxiety are likely to experience it when faced with surgery. I said "I didn't have any anxiety until I sat through this jarring music for 45 minutes. Why are you such a D!*k?" I decided there was no way a man with this big of an ego and absolutely no willingness to hear other people's opinions was getting anywhere near me with a scalpel. I said "I think we're done here" and got up out of the chair. He started laughing to the women in the office across the hall. I said "Do you really think that's funny, or are you trying to save face with your employees?" He said "You can leave now." I assured him there was no way I would stay, and thanked the kind women in the office. The woman in the lobby said that her wife must be one of the only other three patients who complained about it in 5 years, so pretty doubtful that two of the three happened on the same day. I'm sure some people do love it, but those who don't should be able to express that and be heard, not talked down to and accused of a disorder. I don't care how good of a surgeon you are if you're not a decent person.
