Husband had a small ear surgery in January 15, 2025 which went well but postoperatively has severe…read moredizziness and vomiting. This is a common problem postoperatively and easily managed with iv medication. The anesthesiologist, Dr Dougherty, who is considered as the responsible physician, kept giving him oral medication which my husband promptly threw up. I spoke to him directly( I am a dentist) and explained the need for iv med but he told me they had given him some at the time of surgery ( 8:30 am and it was past 1 pm by then) and had NOTHING ELSE at the facility to give him. The nurse Jackie, came over and told me that I should take him home as he is and let him sleep it off. When I asked her if she thought my husband was stable enough to go home, she started lecturing me. Instead of speaking to me, she started speaking at me asking me if I wanted to take him to ER to which I replied that I didn't but wanted my husband to be not severely dizzy and stop vomiting. By this time, it was almost 2 pm( they close at 3pm) She started telling me that if they send us to ER, it would be a long wait and he could get more sick. I told her that it sounded more like a threat dissuading us from going to ER than caring for the patient's needs. Never did I raise my voice but spoke very logically and the nurses Erin, Ryan and Amanda are witnesses to my encounter with Jackie which was extremely terribly unprofessional- this is coming from a medical professional. Paula, the head nurse came in and actually listened. I asked her to call the surgeon who performed the surgery because I had absolutely no confidence in Dr Dougherty. She called the surgeon who immediately advised Valium IV and my husband improved. By then the ambulance had been called and we ended up in Christiana care emergency. Just the Valium IV was the only needed thing. Once on emx, they wanted to do a CT to rule out something else. I knew that he was okay but didn't want to sign him out without Dr's approval. Simple surgery and we ended up in Emergency. Spend time, money and emotional trauma and exposure to all the stuff in emergency just because the practitioner didn't have the common sense to give a parental medication instead of oral to a patient who was vomiting continuously!! My husband and I have had procedures at other surgical centers in Delaware but never had such an experience. Very strongly urge everyone to skip this center. Hi do you know if this practitioner and facility would cope with a much severe postoperative or God forbid, a life threatening emergency. We spoke to the nursing supervisor but no one had followed up with us yet

Absolutely HORRIBLE surgery center!!! I've had over 40 procedures that required anesthesia 20 of…read morethem were surgeries. Someone from the anesthesiology department always calls to go over my procedure and ask questions about my history. That did NOT happen at Limestone Surgery center. I called 3 separate days 4 times total and left a voice message with anesthesia and nobody returned my phone call or picked up the phone. When I spoke with the front desk and inquired about the fact that I hadn't heard from anesthesia, they told me that somebody would reach out to me. The anesthesia department called Friday morning the day before my procedure, which was on Monday and left a voicemail. When I returned the call, nobody answer the phone again, and no one called me back. The voice mail they left stated to just fill out your patient portal. Filling out a patient portal does not take the place of speaking to someone in the anesthesiology department. The day of my procedure I arrived and anesthesiologist, Dr. Randall stated that she was not going to do my procedure because I have one vein and drug allergies. She kept saying she was very experienced and knew what she was doing. However, this is the only location that I've ever had an issue with the anesthesiology department. I've never had any surgery center cancel my surgery, ever! This woman refused to do my surgery. She said she was uncomfortable putting me under. But she kept repeating how experienced she was. She said we don't know anything about you, but they had the information from my doctor when I arrived. I told her that someone from her department should've returned my phone call if they had any other questions. I wouldn't have a surgery there, even if it was free!! I ended up having my surgery at Christiana surgery center which was excellent!

She actually verbally berated me for daring to research the topic beforehand, again bringing up her Harvard training as the reason patient knowledge and opinion were not welcome in her practice. I believe she brought up her educational background three times, if not more? As if patients care about training location more than competence and empathy. Thankfully, despite her cocksure arrogance and extreme unprofessionalism, another provider was able to implement the solution she abrasively and hastily shot down, leading to a significant improvement to my quality of life. Come here if you want to be berated by a doctor who incorrectly and dangerously assumes absolute knowledge, go elsewhere if you want quality medical care and empathy. I can't say I have ever had a more negative experience with a provider. It's one thing to be wrong, which she certainly was in my case. It's quite another to be arrogant and wrong, which is honestly a dangerous combination in medicine.

It has been some time since this experience, but I told myself I would write a review after a…read morenumber of months had passed, and I cooled down a bit. Honestly, as I write this, it is not very fun to recall, but I hope the Doctor will read this, and this will help future patients. Type of Care: Adult wisdom teeth removal Care Quality: To be absolutely clear, the doctor was excellent. The work he did was done very well, and there were no complications after the procedure. He was awesome and a great personality. Office Experience: #1 - walked in for the appointment, and they said we had canceled it. We never canceled it. People don't prep and show up on time for wisdom teeth removal appointments if they've canceled them. Their office staff had, from what we could decipher, been the ones who erroneously canceled the appointment on the same date and time that they had called us weeks earlier SOLELY for the purpose of telling us how much our out-of-pocket would be. There was no discussion whatsoever during the call about whether or not we were proceeding with the appointment. We were proceeding with it. The doctor, being a professional, thankfully managed to keep the appointment as scheduled. No problems there. Thank goodness, because who wants to prep and come back again to have their wisdom teeth removed?! Again, this doctor is very good! That leads to #2 - during that call weeks earlier, again the sole purpose of said call from them to us was to relay our out-of-pocket cost, the lady said the cost to us would be $50. $50. 5-0. We made them repeat that numerous times, and the lady said, "yes, great deal isn't it? Your insurance must be good! We'll see you on your appt date...Us: yes, we'll be there." Soon after the procedure, we got a bill for well over $1,000 out of pocket! After a lot of back-and-forth with the office and our insurance company, the cost came down to $900. In the end, this was the correct cost to us based on the way the office coded the procedure (coding...very impt factor - please take note) and what our insurance policy would cover. The office staff would not concede any miscommunication or misinformation on their part. It was both shocking and disheartening to be treated the way we were. So, just beware. Most important moral of this story is make sure you, as the patient, do ALL the research on how much your procedure might cost you out of pocket, because unfortunately, the office staff failed in that regard. You can't rely on their word. They do not know. They don't have any idea how the procedure might get coded, medically, in advance of it, and maybe the doctor and the nurses can't even predict that -- and that is what the office staff should have told us, but didn't. They should have been honest about what they knew and what they didn't, but they weren't. Their actions unnecessarily led to a lot of heartache, headache, and financial surprise.

After we exchanged a few words, I simply asked for a invoice of the treatment so I could get a better understanding, when I received my letter the envelope was ripped and scotched taped together with a post it note that read "fax as*hole". I would NOT recommended this place to anyone. Unless you love poor customer mixed with talking back employees who can verbally tell you anything.
