Was here after dinner for pool initially. Went here on Sunday and it was quite empty when we got in. This is the first bar I saw Jack D Honey on tap, and I was thrilled! The drink we got was Irish slammer, and they gave too little of the beer compared to usual. Adding to that, the bar smells like smoke somehow, possibly because the wind brings the smoke smell inside(?). Other than that, the games were fun! They have pool, darts, and shuffle board. My best friend decided to celebrate her birthday at his neigborhood bar. The DJ was spinning old school classics and even devoted a Prince mini-set for the birthday girl. The drinks are strong and you're allowed to bring in outside food/cake. I didn't buy my own drink but I'm told the bartenders are friendly. This hole in the wall is every local's hangout place. If I ever wanted to see Cheers in real life, this place is it. The bartenders know everyone and can spot a newbie instantly. I stood out like a sore thumb but my coworker comes often that he's been trying to wing me in. The music playlist varies by staff. Super loud, super friendly, with some good drinks. CASH ONLY! There's some odd decorative things, pretty much just a bunch of random stuff. There's 1 pool table. I think I saw some darts but unsure. A fireplace can be found at the table nearest the door. Our hole in the wall home away from home. The place we go to when there is nothing to do on the weekend because the drinks are cheap and the bartender knows your name and your order as soon as you walk in the place. Also, Karaoke night always provides some good people watching and entertainment. As much as we tell ourselves we don't like this bar, we do, because it's comfortable and we've been going here since we were old enough to drink legally. Also, believe it or not, I like the place even better now that there is outdoor seating due to COVID restrictions. read more

This is the perfect little neighborhood dive-bar. It's right next to my favorite Vietnamese place, and Porky's is right across the street. They have karaoke which is always fun, and the bar tenders pour a decent drink. Everyone is very friendly and there are decent prices for the drinks. read more

this place used to be friendly and fun a few years ago .. and friendly enough during the Holidaze .. but in 2020 it's not a place i can reccomend .. never any coffee ready for an Irish Coffee ( or to pep up after drinking ) ".. 20 minute wait .." plenty of time to go to another bar .. one of the customers i didn't know bought me a drink over the holidaze, which the bartenderess didn't seem to appreciate .. even though i still tipped her .. i don't think i'll be returning .. you can always buy a shot bottle across the street and coffee at 7-11 .. but i'm now looking forward to reading Fred Setterberg's "Lunch Bucket Paradise" .. a "fictional" account of "washington manor" in the 1950s and '60s .. maybe it can provide some insight into the history of this neighborhood .. read more

Used to be a comfy neighborhood bar and fun. Now it is filled with lowlife and thugs especially on weekends. Not a regular but not a stranger. Lady bartenders are nice. Male bartender is overly sarcastic and slow getting drinks. Owner was nice to me but I've witnessed him being disrespectful to others. ZERO stars. So I went there with a friend on 6/26/22 && the bartender THOUGHT we were "drunk" we asked how much are the chips she says $1. Okay we'll take 2 bags of chips.. she says "I got u on one so u only owe me $1 ;) " .I gave her a $20 dollar bill and she gives me back $16!!! I confront her and u can see the "oh shit" on her face lol. Giving her self a $4 dollar tip for some chips he'll naw . They steal your money here !! There is a Bank of the West and Citibank in the same plaza, as well as an ATM inside the bar. The other patrons were very friendly, we had a few random conversations and got to watch some sports reruns on their flat screens above the bar. It's a cool little hangout spot. Friday is karaoke so if that's your then sing your heart out. There's plenty of sitting areas and/or standing if that's your thang. No outside drinks allowed and must showed ID or it's a bad day for you. Bartenders are female and they are cool. Firendly environment. You can reserve spaces if available for a little gathering if you feel like bringing food. I reserved with Stacy and shes is super chill and friendly. First time here since it has new ownership. Came in on a Saturday night after 9PM and stayed until 11PM. Upon our arrival the guy outside asked to see our I.D and then got the hand stamp of approval. The bar looks to be pretty much the same as before. Since it was dark it might it hard to see the improvements I heard about. There were over 20 people of all ages, young and middle aged. A laid back casual atmosphere. We ordered mixed drinks during our stay, the bartender was super nice and prices were reasonable. The bar bar and bathroom were clean. As it got later it got pretty packed and they had a DJ start playing. There was only one bartender and a bar back. She was working as fast as possible but with so many people it took awhile to get another drink. In no way was it her fault she was doing the best she could. I think they would benefit in having a second bartender on busy nights. It is a great local bar that I would come back to. read more

Always feels like a high school reunion whenever I walk into this joint. Honestly not even sure if some of these kids are 21+, but the bouncer does check ID when you walk in, so maybe they're just looking younger and younger with each passing year (man does that make me sound old). I stopped by on St. Patrick's Day to grab a beer with Boyfriend and a friend of ours and while it was pretty busy, it wasn't as packed as I'd expected it to be. Mike, the friendly bartender, was on duty and he served us up as quickly as he could, though it was hard for us to reach the bar since it was surrounded by drunk fools. It's a pretty divey local bar, but chill if you just want to go, grab a drink and mind your own business. It does get really packed on the typical nights though (Thurs-Sat), so unless you want to feel really old amongst the fresh 21s (seriously, I'm 24 and they made me feel old) slamming back shots and screaming, then I would hold back and come on an off-night (especially Sunday nights) when it's a lot more relaxed and you can actually hear yourself think and your friends' conversation. read more

Has it really taken me this long to review this place? This is the kind of place that everyone wants in their neighborhood. Everyone is friendly, the bartenders know how to pour the drinks, you can get a little crazy - within reason (not that I ever do), and they have fun events on different nights of the week to keep things interesting. They only take cash, but the ATM machine inside is cheaper to withdraw cash from than the two ATMs in the shopping center that it's located in (unless you happen to bank at one of them). This place is pretty cool. It's more of a dive bar /pub scene than a lounge/club, super chill so you don't have to get all dolled up to go out. The drinks were perfectly made and not hella expensive which was awesome. The bartenders were also very nice which was cool too. When I went it wasn't too crowded but I've heard from people it can get crackin' Definitely check this place out if you wanna swing by somewhere chill to grab a drink or two. No Doubt the best bar in the Oakland Hayward San Lorenzo and San Leandro Area. Always a great crowd with a lot of locals that are proud of there community. It's where you can always come in and not worry about "thugs" or gangbangers or too much of a trouble making crowd. The owner did a great job of finding the HOTTEST yet still friendly and they are not too cool to talk to everyone!
