It was pretty slow, which actually made for a chill vibe. Trina the bartender was amazing--super attentive and friendly, which definitely made the experience better. The place has that classic dive bar feel, with a pool table in the back and some outdoor seating as well. I've had the food before and it was okay--nothing to rave about, but it gets the job done. We randomly searched on google two weekends ago for a local dive bar and found this place. We loved it so much, we went again last Saturday. Ciara is super friendly and a wonderful bartender! We love how there are darts in the back. Enjoyed playing that both times. Lots of variations of dart games available. They take quarters or bills. Pretty cheap to play! There is also a pool table too. Maybe next time, we will try that out. The fried cheese ravioli is to die for. So delicious. Also the fried chicken was nice and crispy. We ended up doing some karaoke too. Starts at 8pm on Saturdays. After a few drinks, its all fun! Such chill vibes. We are definitely adding this bar to our rotation of bars now. =) read more

Let me just start off with saying I love this little place. Somewhat like a speakeasy honestly and it's in a good location! Location- right by the freeway and in n out. Usually do my grocery shopping before I come here since it's in such a good location and close by home. Been coming here consistently for the last 3 weeks and love it! Everything is near by! Atmosphere- the vibes here are warming and kind! All bartenders are lovely and very nice with helping me order my drinks. Even the people who stop by here are super cool and kind. Me and my friends love coming here. Parking- there's always parking and it free so could never go wrong. Plus the entry is right next to the lot. So I should have done this a long time ago. I don't know what I was thinking. Anyway, this place is the sh*t. I love Friday nights for Karaoke. Usually it's R&B, oldies with a little light rock and country music. Singers are usually pretty good. It's a vibe. But what I love most is the service and the quality of the drinks. Alex Jr. Is a great bartender!!! He makes a killer Espresso Martini. So does the owner!! I also get a shot called a Pink P*ssy. So good. Ordering it is hard to do a first. I whisper. But after a couple of these, all shame goes out the window. They also have food, a pool.table and a nice patio. Bathroom is always really clean. There is security at the door and they are friendly. I can't believe I haven't left a review for the Tip Top yet! After moving from fremont and losing my local bar I moved to San Lorenzo and went to EVERY local watering hole I could to find a home. Then I found the tip top tavern. Such a cool laid back place. Strong drinks and amazing peolple. The owners are the best! Alex (jr) is the man, Trina is a sweetheart and Ciara... the woman has looked out for our crew like no one else. This team is amazing and I'm so glad I found a local bar that we're happy and comfortable at, as well as dog friendly when we bring big Ol' Cletus or Darnell with us on summer patio days. More than a bar more like a great family WITH an amazing kitchen!! Best bar food in the area hands down! If I don't feel like cooking best believe I am here!! I've always wanted a local spot to go to after a long day and this place is the one. It's conveniently nearby and they can make one hell of an espresso martini. I happen to be there during karaoke. It's a Friday night. Decided to stop by here before picking up the stepsons from OAK airport. Their flight was delayed. We got here around 10:30 pm. We got parking right across the street. The place was still relatively empty except for folks at the bar. Apparently it's Karaoke night. Some guy was singing "My way" I kid you not (see the video below). The lady and I got a good table. The place filled up within 30 minutes. The clientele reflects the community around San Leandro. Quite diverse. Staff seemed to know the table of bikers that came in. Atmosphere is chill, despite the loud bangers between karaoke songs. DJ was cuttin' it up with Yay Area club classics. We had the lumpia and the lemon pepper strips. Lady had Diet Coke while I had a pint of Sierra Nevada. The staff is friendly and attentive. read more

The price of food and drinks were outrageous. I paid more at this dive bar than I did at lounge in the city. I don't recommend this place.

First time here and have to give credit to the positive reviews Ibhad read prior to coming here. The Deep Fried Lumpia was delicious as was the Fish Sandwich which was recommended to me by the bartender. Not really busy while I was here but the bartender was still very attentive and she was also very nice to newbies loke me as well as the regulars. Came for dinner and a Warriors game. We had the Club Sandwich, which was on the plain side and tasted dry, maybe because it had little to no mayonnaise. They probably should have included a little cuplette of mayo as an option. The Fish and Chips were just ok. The fish was flaky but the very thick and -salty batter was over-fried which made the fish also a bit dry. They do have a warm wait staff though. And it was either the owner or manager who surveyed the room often and conscientiously to ensure we had everything we needed. There's definitely a great community vibe there. A table full of locals were playing games and acting like family though how diverse they looked pretty much confirmed they were at best brothers and sisters from a different mother. There's a lot of screens to watch the games though a couple TVs toward the side facing the bar had strange dark spots, which I hope they will fix soon. A parking lot's on the premises, but it's small. Should be ample street parking though. And a pool room sits in the back if you get bored watching the game. The Soundprint app recorded the noise level on the moderately high side at 77. read more

This review is for my visit in May 2021. This place was POPPIN! Chose this place for a high school choir reunion and it was perfect because it was karaoke night and the food and drinks were good. There's games on the back patio like big jenga. There's also a pool table. The Karaoke DJ was fun! He even had changeable covers for the microphones so we didn't spread germs. I appreciated that. The bartenders were friendly and fun too. They had TACOS!!! And the drinks didn't taste watered down. In addition, the crowd was just an over all good vibe and I wasn't drunk to know that lol. TipTop is one of my favorite local restaurants, although I guess it's really a bar that serves food. Great jukebox, multiple TVs for sports, and surprisingly great pizza! Super-friendly staff and full bar. Outstanding onion rings. If I had friends, I would want to hang out here with them. Not sure when, but they have Karaoke at times, fun to watch/listen. We came to order food originally and they close the bar at 9 but they were so nice they decided to re open it to feed everyone one who is was hungry! REVIEWER # 8 WAIT, can someone please tell me what happened to Usher Inn? If you don't know about Usher, please take two seats, while I explain how shocked I am to see that Usher is no longer in San Lorenzo! I moved to Hayward 3 years ago and Usher Inn was the "Spot" on Fridays and Saturday nights! The owners (Chinese couple, I believe) were madd cool and served $1.00 jelly shots and ALWAYS played the crackin' music, this place used to be the "Hotspot". Talk about the place to be, this place was it. So my cousin and I came decided to go back to Usher to relive the moment, but little did we know. The Uber driver dropped us off in front of the spot: Me: "Wait, why is it so empty? Wait, excuse me driver, this is not Usher"!? (Looks around) I got out the car anyway and walked into a Dead. Ass. Bar on a Friday night!! Are you serious?? Literally it was me, my cousin and the two bartenders behind the counter (white and black chick). I tried to give this place a try and although I have to admit I was a little tipsy, I wasn't feeling the bartender's attitude, although the drinks were tasty. Tip Top hasn't really changed anything inside the bar area. Everything looks the same. The only thing that this place was missing was the music and PEOPLE! Like..I am writing this and still can't believe there was no one at this bar. I totally don't know what's going on! What happened to Usher!? Sadly, Tip Top Tavern, I wasn't feeling you. Are you even marketing this new bar? I hear this place is under new management now, but dang, what happened, did ya'll drive the people away? 2.5 STARS-For the delicious lemon drop and my time, but that's it. Went to this bar since I heard it was new. Place is located near the in and out burger. When I walked in, it Had a really nice vibe to it. Nice wood tables and the owner whose name is Alex was really welcoming. Cool jukebox and pool table in the back. This place is a really good spot to pre game for the Oakland raiders game since it's conveniently next to Bart. The liquor here is premium and they also do the lottery here! They have a really nice patio in the back with a canopy over the smoking area. They have several tvs where they are constantly playing sports all day so watching the warriors games here would be fun! I've lived in the East Bay for 5 years and never been to TipTop until NYE. I've always read great reviews, but mainly came out to show my support to the Bartender BEANIE! She was the regular bartender at an old spot and my husband and I LOVE her SOOOOO MUCH. we had to visit to show our support. She not only is the sweetest, REALEST, most down to earth lady, she knows her shit and makes amazing drinks! It is never a dull time with her.
