Such a pleasant experience! As everyone knows, finding someone to do your hair and do it well can be a challenge. I have been seeing the same stylist for years, but it has become increasingly difficult to get an appointment on weekends or after normal business hours with him. In a desperate act for a wedding this weekend, I turned to Yelp. I found one with good reviews and made an appointment for today; she texted early this morning to cancel. For my second desperate act, I once again turned to Yelp not expecting anyone to have openings for today. I feared I might have to turn to a local chain cheap cuts salon. I saw Ryanne's reviews, the pictures on her IG and when I saw she had an opening today, I leaped at the chance. I could not have been more pleased. We talked for a few minutes about my hair, my lifestyle, what I liked/didn't like and she got to work. The time just flew by - she is friendly, interesting (perhaps because we had a lot in common) and efficient. My hair looks fantastic: the color is flattering and the cut perfect. She understood that I was not going to spend hours with product and tools to get my "look". I'll definitely be back. I was so nervous about my first appointment with Ryanne, because I was solely going by Yelp reviews. I hadn't seen anybody in the Seattle area with cute enough hair for me to walk up and ask them for a referral to their stylist, so I relied on reviews and mentally prepared myself for hair doom. I've always gone to Gene Juarez to get my hair did, but I'm never very happy when I walk out from there after my appointments (and neither is my wallet). I heard great things about Studio 2 from a friend so I decided to give it a shot, and I'm SO glad I did! From the moment you walk into Studio 2, stylists Ryanne and Joanie make you feel so welcome. Ryanne was my stylist and she did an AMAZING job with my thick and hard to manage hair. I got highlights and a cut, and the service was very very impressive. I must've been there for about an hour, but it felt like I was only there for 10 minutes because they made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. After seeing great reviews on Yelp about Joanie I scheduled an appointment with her online and I'm really glad I did!! This was one of the best haircuts I've ever gotten in my life. She really takes the time and effort to make sure the cut looks perfect and I appreciate that she recommended I keep some length in my hair even though I walked in hoping to cut it shorter. She even taught me the best way to curl my hair with a curling iron and gave me tips on how I should style it. I also really like the location of this salon. It can be a little confusing trying to find it at first but there is ample parking in the Elements building and I like that the atmosphere is very modern and quiet. Since this place is only a couple blocks away from my work, I will definitely be coming back for my next cut and might even come back to get my hair colored soon! read more

I found this place through a deal site, in which I purchased a Brazilian Blowout for just $99! Personally, I'm extremely lazy when it comes to my hair. I have a ton if it, so I hate blow drying it and I never curl it. It's just either straightened down or pulled back into a bun or ponytail. My hair gets very poofy and frizzy when I let it air dry (which is my preferred method of "styling" since I'm so lazy) so I HAD to try a Brazilian Blowout. It's all the rage nowadays too. At any rate, I highly recommend it. It's not only good for your hair, but it makes your life so much easier by making your hair so easily manageable! You just blow dry while running your fingers through and voila! your hair is without frizz, super shiny and incredibly soft. Ryann was also a very cool lady. There was a glitch with my appointment (I rescheduled online) and ultimately she thought it was cancelled. She, however, was willing to drive back out to the salon to do my hair which I really appreciated. The facility was also very nice. I was thinking this morning that I love the haircut I got from Joanie! She has cut my hair for a while now and I love a great stylist that uses scissor and takes the time to give a good even cut that grows out evenly! I went to the same person for 15 year and drove 35 miles each way once a month to get my hair cut. She did a great job. Joanie may get the next 15 years of my business! She is GREAT! I have gone 2 month without getting a haircut and other than my hair is a little long for me, it looks good. I think most of the guys out here know there is that time where your hair just gets unruly (not the unruly that looks good!) and it's time to get it cut. Honestly, this was the worst Brazilian blowout EVER! I had a Brazilian blowout by another salon before and it was amazing and lasted over 6 months! When that salon stopped doing them I tried Ryanne at Studio 2. She is very nice as a person but she did the laziest, sloppiest job on my hair. She is too cheap to saturate your hair with the product so she barely brushes it on. After my very first shower it didn't even look like I had anything done. I kept telling her to please saturate my hair and she wouldn't. I wasted $250 and now have to have another salon redo her "work". She may be good at haircuts or color, I wouldn't know but for Brazilian blowout specifically, I would NEVER go to her. Save your $ and find someone professional who doesn't take shortcuts and can afford to use as many capfuls as your hair requires! read more

I broke up with my longtime stylist in Seattle this summer, and went to Gene Juarez in Bellevue for a few months (see my earlier review). And while I loved my stylist there, I didn't like the salon. I went to Coupe Rokei for one cut and color, but didn't hit it off with the stylist. So, on the basis of Yelp reviews, I tried Ryanne. And I'm so glad I did. I was worried about having "Bellevue" hair, so I brought her a bunch of pictures of haircuts past, and styles I liked. We pored over them and discussed possibilities, and she was frank about what would work for my hair texture. I love my color and my cut -- I let her chop off three inches -- and today, she came in early to give me a styling lesson. She's personable, intelligent and very talented.
