Swift Garage Door Repair of Las Vegas

Had an awful experience with Mike and Sean from Swift Garage Las Vegas. I'm giving two starts…read morebecause they came same day. Rest of experience was pretty terrible. Low lights included Mike stapling his business card to wall inside garage when I wasn't looking! I told him that wasn't cool and he responded he did it because previous customers said his stickers were too hard to remove! Seriously!?! Like what the actual freak? Additional things that were very disappointing included; 1) Failure to to let me know new opener was incompatible with existing keypad. Of course AFTER it was installed and they didn't have newer keypad and couldn't get for 2 weeks! They should've known and informed me that the new motor wouldn't work with existing keypad before installation. Damage to property: Using a staple gun to attach business card to our recently painted wall is unacceptable property damage. That alone is enough to never let this clown near my property ever again! Poor quality installation: I found compatible keypad on Amazon, that Mike offered to install, but he mounted it backwards and used the wrong screws, was carelessness and showed a lack of attention to detail and preparation. Additionally the camera on motor was not set-up correctly and their excuse was it was new system they weren't familiar with. Then why didn't you learn about BEFORE installing at my home. Lack of preparation: their excuse about the motor being "new" doesn't take away their responsibility to learn the product's basic functionalities (like keypad compatibility and camera) before selling and installing. I've spent hours researching and ordering the necessary key pad and correctly installing the mount myself I would NOT have agreed to a new garage door opener that requires a key pad that needs to be charged every few months or an additional adapter. tl/dr lack of preparation, unfamiliar with product they installed, poor quality installation, & no respect for my home. Summary, would definitely not use again.

As most home owners I am very capable of doing minor repairs around the home. However a word of caution if you plan on working on your garage door. The spring mechanism can be very dangerous and if you have issues related to that you must hire a professional to avoid injury. Anthony was the representative who came to my home to do the repairs. He was on time and upon arrival listened to my concerns and proceeded to present solutions to my problems. After a thorough inspection he took the time to explain all facets of the repair in laymen's terms. The work and product were exceptional. Thank you for a job well done a a reasonable cost.

I had my 16-foot garage door serviced on March 31, 2023. I specifically requested that the door be…read morebalanced and the springs replaced. The work included two springs, bearing plates, and bearings, and the total was nearly $450. Just over three years later, after only a few thousand cycles at most, the door is wildly out of balance again. With the opener disconnected, I used an equipment scale and measured approximately 35 pounds of lifting force at the bottom of travel and 21 pounds at the halfway point. The door is now as badly balanced as it was before the repair, possibly worse. I knew at the time that nearly $450 was not a bargain, but I was already in the middle of epoxying my garage and wanted the job completed. I would have let the experience go had the repair held up. Instead, I am now dealing with the same problem again after what I consider a very short service life for replacement springs. What finally set me off and sent me to Yelp was my girlfriend's abused garage door. She uses it far more often than I use mine, has never had the springs serviced, and yet it is perfectly balanced. After finding my receipt, I also saw that the warranty was only one year on both parts and labor. In hindsight, I should have treated that as a red flag. A spring and balance repair at this price should last substantially longer than this under ordinary residential use. I am extremely disappointed by both the value and the apparent quality of the work. I regret paying a premium price for a repair that did not provide a durable result. I am leaving a two-star review because the technician was personable and pleasant, even though the work did not hold up.

And when it doesn't, your whole comes crashing down and you realize you cannot do anything without it, like leaving the house or breathing. It's simple really. I called. They answered. Mark came out when my opener died and our cars were stuck in the garage. One extra star because he came out within an hour. He got me installed with a new opener and he went on his way. (which later I found out the opener was underpowered -- which Mark claim I knowingly approved -- hah!) Six months later, we hear a large bang from the garage and see our springs are broken. We call Mark out and he gets them fixed. $1100 spent in total. But just days later, our garage door clanks and grinds went closing. We call them back out and this is when I start to lose faith in them. He says everything is normal and balanced correctly. We go to two of our neighbors house and see how their doors work. He gas lights me saying our door is working smoother than theirs. It was a frustrating experience, but I finally found another company that actually took care of us.

I can appreciate a lot of stuff and because he did the same thing I would do in my previous companies I worked for, I will add a star and add more comments. If the person who originally answered my phone call was a call center / answering service then they should be held accountable and obviously spoken to about what happened. Listen to the recorded conversations and if they need to be released as being their answering service company then I would recommend that. I come from a Regional Manager position in property management and call answering service companies should hold their employees to high standards and train them properly too. ----------- I was searching for a company that would be able to do a tune up for my garage door. Precision Overhead contacted me back and left their number to call. I called and a female answered the phone. I won't put her name on blast. I first introduced myself and said I was inquiring about having a tune up for my garage. Told her I was texting with someone who gave me their number if I had questions. Well, I wanted to speak so someone directly and the female who answered was tired. She told me that she had a busy month with so many parties etc. She yawned LOUD on the phone that's why our conversation was about being tired. Anyway, she said she was going to schedule me with a technician. After we got all that out of the way, I asked to confirm that it would be a complimentary inspection (according to who I was texting with to get a quote.) She said no it would cost to do the tune up of my garage door. OK, I then said "I'm not asking to do the work but I wanted a quote." She misunderstood me so I kindly cancelled the appointment as I didn't want the work to be done. I'm still searching for a vendor. Anyway, I hung up and Richard (scheduler) called me back. Told him i had other vendors coming to provide me a quote and I'd get back to him. He gave me the price and although they were the cheapest from all my vendors, I decided to go with another vendor because of their response and how good they listened to my requests. 5 Stars for Richard. I called back to let him know I chose another vendor.

Our new car accidentally scraped the bottom of the garage door during operation, which bent the metal panel and caused the bottom guide wheels to dislodge from the tracks, resulting in a loud noise upon closing. Recognizing that I was not equipped to perform these repairs myself, I contacted Precision Overhead Door of Las Vegas once again, confident in their service. Although I was provided a service window between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, I was thoroughly impressed when a technician arrived in less than an hour. Rob, the technician who handled the repair, was outstanding, much like Joshua, who assisted us during our previous service and he did everything possible to keep the cost down while still providing superior results. He also found out what caused the scrape and the damage to the garage door. Rob was also very professional and personable. My wife and I are now certain that we will exclusively use Precision Garage Door for any future needs, including the potential purchase of a new garage door, and we highly recommend their services to others. It is rare to find a company that responds so promptly; while many service providers might take over a week to schedule an appointment, Precision Garage Door dispatched a highly qualified technician in under an hour. The work was finished the right way and Rob was on his way. Precision Overhead Door of Las Vegas and Rob truly deserve six stars or more.

A1 Garage Door Service

Our journey with A1: We found A1 on an ad that offered a discounted inspection and tune up. Our…read moregarage door appeared to be working normally, but was approx. 26 years old. We replaced the opener, springs, and rollers within the last two years. A1's inspection revealed the door was contractor grade (the cheapest door home manufacturers can install in new construction) and while not broken it was worn out and needed replacement. We purchased an upgraded insulated door and springs. The inspector and finance guy were friendly and professional. They installed temporary springs, refusing to adjust the existing springs since they didn't install them. We scheduled the installation date, and our installer (Jimmy Garcia) was fantastic. He singlehandedly replaced the old door/rails/springs, and transferred a lock from the old to the new door in 110 plus degree weather. He was also helpful getting the paint sub-contractor and the promised follow-on inspection and adjustment. The painter was hard to get in touch with initially through A1, but was outstanding once we got connected. They set expectations, offered suggestions for the best paint brand, finish, and tips to produce the best results. He painted the door at 6am to avoid temperature issues, and the finish appears flawless so far. After repeated attempts to get the promised adjustment scheduled, A1 sent one out. There were only minor adjustments made, which I take as a quality installation of a quality door. So after describing the process we experienced, we were left with the following impressions: Positives: - They seemed focused on safety of our old door. This was important since we are seniors with grandkids. The new door looks great, and the garage door insulation seems effective in keeping our South-facing garage door cooler in Southwest extreme summer heat. - The process for selecting the new door and financing was fast and easy. Everything was done same day. - Every employee we worked with was friendly, professional, as was the paint contractor. Improvement opportunities: - Post-installation communication created stress. Each person did their job, but finding someone who reliably monitored and communicated next steps was lacking. Things did get resolved eventually, but seemed siloed and more difficult than necessary. - Feedback requests were Spam-like in their intensity, with each touch point pushing a Google review request. This became annoying, and creates friction recommending them to friends or family. I'd suggest sending one feedback request after the final adjustment, and not just on Google. - Financing: we take responsibility for our choice to use their finance company. That being said, I didn't recall this being highlighted as the HELOC loan it is, which gives the finance company a secondary lein on our property until it is paid off (something we generally avoid like the plague). If you have time to do a scheduled replacement, I'd recommend contacting your credit union to see if they can give a lower APR loan/loan terms to finance the project. Closing remarks: To set expectations we brought A1 here for an adjustment, and in our case we now have a multi-thousand dollar investment. The new door looks and operates great. I was surprised at the cost of this door (both door and financing) so shopping around may be beneficial. I think A1 is a good garage door company employing great people, but as a customer you should be prepared for surprises along the way to replacing your garage door.

The technician had difficulty finding our home and mentioned that he had the wrong address after passing by several times. Once he arrived, the appointment felt more like a sales pitch than an inspection. Instead of focusing on our immediate concerns, he seemed intent on recommending additional products and services that we didn't feel were necessary. The estimate we received was significantly higher than expected, and a few comments he made during the visit came across as unprofessional, leaving us uncomfortable. Because of this experience, we decided to get a second opinion. We ultimately chose DogTag Garage, and the difference was night and day. They were professional, honest, explained exactly what was needed without any pressure, and provided a fair price. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend A1 Garage. If you're looking for a company that values honesty, professionalism, and straightforward service without unnecessary upselling, I would recommend giving DogTag Garage a call instead.
