I got severe food poisoning on a holiday weekend and thought this would be my saving grace. I was…read moreseverely dehydrated after eating some bad food and spending the evening puking my brains out. It was hard to keep anything down. I had considered going to urgent care, I should have went there would have been cheaper! First off parking is very difficult. When I entered the lady at the front told me she was just calling to confirm I was coming in. I explained I had been driving around for some time looking for parking. This was my first time at this place and while the nurse was pleasant she didn't even offer me her name or introduce herself or tell me anything about the business or services offered. This was my first time there. The place is very well maintained and clean. She sat me in a large room that had two seats. I filled out some paperwork and explained my situation. I had booked just a normal saline IV. She immediately suggested a full size IV bag since I was severely dehydrated . I said okay. She seemed a little disorganized, having to get up constantly to get something. No issues, she checked in on me every now and then. No issues. Half hour later, while I was snoozing in my seat. She had another client and placed them in the set beside me. I've done IV drips before and most places ask if you would like privacy or if you are okay with another person being in the room with you. She did not ask anything, just sat the next other person in seat next to me. I felt bad for the person as the nurse seemed to have difficulty finding a vein for treatment and the lady was wincing and crying in pain. Needless to say I couldn't be very relaxed with all the commotion going on next to me. The nurse asked me how I was feeling. I told her ok, she said she would give me something to help with my headache toward the end of my bag. Once I was almost done, she walked over and insert about three shots of various things into my IV bags. She said this is going to help your headache, this is going to help ur stomach, and murmured a few other things. I was wasn't sure if this was routine but I was too tired and weak to ask. I was trusting she was doing the right thing. When I went up front to pay what I thought was about $170 (saline IV) charge turned into $355 charge!!!! Like WTF!!! So she added on all this extra stuff for a "stomach flu" that I never asked for. Feeling the way I did, I didn't have the energy to fight with her about the bill. I just paid it and will NEVER return! If you are changing services on a client the proper thing would be to speak with them and explained the benefits and changes in charges prior to administering treatment. Not just take it upon yourself to do what you want! And that is why I WOULDN'T recommend this place.

Boost Wellness Review: Roslyn, New York…read more As someone who used to frequent public contrast therapy spots back in Arizona, stepping into Boost Wellness in Roslyn felt like an entirely different league. My wife and mother-in-law gifted me sessions here for my birthday, and after seeing the setup, I immediately traded my initial package in for a monthly subscription. It's easily one of the best ways to spend a weekend. What sets this place apart immediately is the privacy and the quality of the equipment. Back in Arizona, cold plunging meant piling into shared, public tubs and cycling through communal saunas where everyone is on display. At Boost, you get your own private rooms. My go-to routine is the contrast therapy: * Round One: 20 minutes in the private infrared sauna, which comes loaded with bluetooth speakers so you can sync your phone and play a podcast or music, followed by 3 minutes in the cold plunge. * Round Two: 10 more minutes in the sauna, followed by another 3 minutes in the plunge while stretching out to get the blood flowing. While they do offer a cryo option, I much prefer their actual cold water plunge tubs. Afterwards, I head over for a 10-minute session in the red light therapy room. Unlike older setups I've used where the light panels are fixed far away, their multi-light therapy panels are on wheels. You can roll them right up close to get full-body exposure, and the room has a nice built-in breeze so you don't overheat. They also have top-tier compression therapy chairs that double as actual massage chairs--brand new, pristine, and incredibly comfortable. The staff is exceptionally friendly, and the manager got me set up smoothly on a credit-based system. Contrast therapy runs you two credits since it covers both hot and cold cycles, and the monthly membership gives me 12 credits to play with--perfect for hitting three solid therapies once a weekend. At over 50, I'm doing this to stay strong, mobile, and young for as long as possible. Whether you're already dialed into the science popularized by Wim Hof or just starting to look into the longevity and recovery benefits of cold water and infrared therapy, Boost Wellness is unmatched. The facility is spotless, state-of-the-art, and worth every visit. Highly recommend.
