I would NEVER use this company!!!! They deserve no stars, but I had to give one star to warn…read moreeveryone to NEVER use this company. My sister got her truck stolen and Penske did absolutely nothing to make it right. This company stole items once the truck was located and just threw all their items in another truck. Horrible company!!! Not once did a General Manager come out to assist in anyway!!!

Our experience started in June of 2024 when after 2-years of renting trucks from Penske we thought…read moreit would be in our best interest to purchase one. We rent trucks and require a semi-about 4x per month. Here is a vehicle price breakdown for factual affect; The total price=$53,299 (taxes, fees, etc); we gave a deposit of $11,000-$500 (Title fee); which means our principal payment from the lender (we thought was Premier) would be $41,799. And on the BOS from Penske this is the price breakdown. But the contract changed when Penske got LEAF involved without our knowledge or consent. Now LEAF is stating that our contract buyout would be $51,330.72 (because we have made 4 payments.) These are the facts every buyer should be aware of and concerned by. How we got here is outlined below and for those of you say their idiots, or this is your fault-I hear you. This entire scenario has tested me and my husband beyond measure, and we should have walked away after being transferred to 4 people all working for the same company, but we really needed this truck. Now I am just hoping to stop some entrepreneur or excited business owner from ever working with or financing with Penske, Premier Financing or LEAF Capital. From June 20, 2024-July 15th, 2024; we were under the assumption that the financing for the vehicle would be thru Premier Financing who holds the vehicle certificate. This was the entity that requested all our bank documents, insurance information and all the applicable statements needed to finance a truck. We even signed the Vehicle BOS #079612....... on July 10th, 2024. Then for some unrequested reason and without explanation we received an email from LEAF on July 16th, 2024. We did not choose LEAF capital; in fact, we were never consulted or informed there would be a transfer so we (apparently like idiots) assumed the Vehicle BOS from Penske would carry thru to LEAF. LEAF does not have a prepayment penalty clause in their contract, but they do state in section 2 under Payments that the 'Borrower may not prepay any portion of this Agreement. None of this was ever explained to us by anyone at Premier Financing or at LEAF. We signed the BOS and agreement with Premier Financing on 07/10/2024 that has no conditions about a prepayment penalty but now LEAF is saying even if you want to pay if off early you will be subject to the interest of the additional 54-months.

Received a rental car from this location after I was involved in an incident that put my personal…read morevehicle in the body shop. They were very quick to get things situated. The other party's insurance paid for my rental car (minus the $50 vehicle deposit I had to pay out of pocket) so I'm unsure how much the total cost was. I wasn't able to pick which vehicle I was provided due to another individuals insurance covering it. I was given a vehicle comparable in size to my personal vehicle. I was provided a 2025 Toyota Corolla (base model). It was great on fuel (35MPG) and drove smoothly with the type of transmission in it. The employee showed me where the spare tire & tools were in the trunk. They try selling you additional insurance through them on the vehicle, I didn't purchase it however. I had the vehicle for a total of 9 days. My only complaint was that the vehicle came with the carpet torn up on the passenger side (front and rear), so I was concerned the entire time I had the rental of the possibility I'd get charged for preexisting damage. This wasn't the case & I was fully refunded my $50 deposit 2 days after I dropped the vehicle off. I was initially told at the time I dropped the vehicle off that I'd receive an email of my deposit refund, but didn't. So 2 days after I dropped the vehicle off I called to confirm whether or not they had processed it and was told they hadn't. The associate pushed it through & I received the email confirmation of the refund. Overall happy with my experience!

Wow. My recent experience with Uhaul was negative from start to finish--surprising, since Uhaul is…read more(was?) kind of the standard-bearer of DIY moving. It's like "magic marker" or "Bandaid." When you mean "rent a self-haul truck," you say, "rent a u-haul." HOWEVER, I expect to see this company on Undercover Boss soon if they haven't already been on--someone needs to descend from corporate heights and get a whiff of what's going on in U-haul locations. (I have thoughts on the location in Chandler where I picked up the truck for a single-day's one-way move, but I'll post those there. The post will be called "Is there maybe a grownup here I could talk to?") As I said, I rented a 10' truck to move a kitchen table set from one side of town to another, and I chose this location as my dropoff. Dropoff would have to take place on a Sunday evening, when the business was closed. We deposited the secured truck in their lot, placed the keys and paperwork in the drop box, and went on our merry way. The next morning, I called to verify--and I'm glad I did. The woman who answered said she had "no record of our vehicle" and "no order is coming up with that reservation number" and "there's nothing under your name." (Meanwhile, I used the very same order number and name to pull up the reservation online.) She said she needed to "do research," which I assumed meant she had to get out of her office chair and empty the dropbox. She called back TWICE to hear the name and order number again and again. Still nothing. Then four hours of silence, while I wondered if I was now on the hook for $40,000 or a U-haul. Finally, I called back again ... when I spoke to her, she talked elusively about a "burglary" that happened after dropoff. I would be charged for mileage and gas overages (despite the fact that we returned the truck gassed up and under the 70 mile limit) of $70. Not a huge dollar amount, sure, but I have some problems with this: 1. I paid for SafeMove insurance, which, according to U-haul's website, covers theft of the vehicle as long as the renter was not negligent. Therefore, I should be responsible neither for the vehicle if stolen nor for attendant charges like gas and miles. That is, if there is a police report or credible evidence of theft in the first place. If there isn't, how do I know some dirtbag who works for them didn't take the truck? They can either credibly demonstrate that theft occurred or not ... and I'm not responsible for either scenario after my possession of the vehicle ceased. 2. There is no excuse for this rep's failure to communicate clearly and frequently to update me or to answer basic questions like "did you check the drop box? were the keys there?" (The all-purpose answer: "I'm doing research." With the amount of "research" this woman did, she should be just about ready to write up her U-haul dissertation.) She also claims that her surveillance video has "no record" of my returning the truck when/where I said I did (and yet ... she has the truck ... so does she maybe not have a real surveillance camera?). 3. Her other answer to everything, besides "I'm doing research," was "I'm just doing what my boss told me to do." Ah yes, the classic shitty-customer-service refrain. If you work for U-haul in a customer service capacity, you should be able to answer why the insurance I paid for isn't insuring me.
