We had some difficulty finding it because is is not well marked and ended up driving around the block because we missed it and there was no where to maneuver on Pine which is One Way heading West. We stopped and asked for help and the friendly guards told us we were in the right place. The garage was reasonably priced and we had booked a reservation in advance on the Park Whiz App...which I strongly recommend because parking is tight in this part of STL. The garage was clean, well lit and safe for people and our car. This is much better than street parking though it may be slightly cheaper. It was only a short block away from the Stifle Theater and we felt quite safe. The police ‍ seemed to be watching the area as well because they nailed a woman who made a left turn out of the parking and appeared to try to avoid driving around the block. The police knew the event schedules and planned. Great parking which we will use next time we are heading to the Stifel Theater!

However, it is steep and narrow in places and you do go down quite a distance to the creek and you have to ascend back to the parking lot. It might be too much if you're not sure-footed. There no bathroom facilities, (at least in April) so stop at the gas station a few miles before. The bridge itself is large and we were able to walk under it to the other side. The creek was very low while we were there. The water was very clear, you could easily see the bottom of the river bed. Since the creek was low, there was a lot of exposed river rock that the kids thoroughly enjoyed picking up and throwing into the water. They had a fantastic time and slept all the way back home in the car.

I did not know they were the same business. I went inside to protest and grab a fountain soda. The syrup was out on many of the options, which was obvious by the abandon foam cups sitting on the drink stand half full of clear carbonated water. Manager said this business places a hold on all purchases. Absurd... three miles down 70 are better options.

Until I was told that I could walk into the showers to find a dead body or into the restroom to find someone that has overdosed. Everything that I was going to talk about or ask just went out of my head and all I could think about was a dead body. I'm sorry to say that I could walk into any public restroom and find that. It should have never been in the interview at all. I have so much experience in customer service and treating everyone the way I want to be treated. It's their loss not mine.

There is a wealth of information about the area and Missouri as a whole in the giant shelving unit and the woman working the counter was very welcoming. She even had snacks and drinks laid out to take for free. I noticed the large sculpture garden/walking path (Dedicated to the Osage nation), behind the building and took a stroll around it to stretch my legs. It was a short trail and was lined with pavers of donors to the project. This was a much better place to stop than a gas station or truck stop!

When we arrived, we just had to scan the QR code and enter, then we could find a spot to park. Once we parked, a shuttle driver came around and picked us up, which was so nice! He gave us a card with our spot number/location and told us to hold onto it for our return. The shuttle driver helped to load our bags and once we are loaded up, he made a few stops to pick up other passengers then dropped us off at the terminal. Super easy! Upon our return, we walked to the shuttle pick up area and the shuttle was already there waiting for some passengers so it worked out just perfectly! A bunch of us got on the shuttle and the driver asked for our location, so I gave him the card and when we got to the lot, he brought us right over to our car and helped unload our bags. Using the Parking Spot was super easy and so efficient. I think this is my new go to lot when traveling. Getting in and out was super easy with the help of the app/QR code.

You park yourself and a shuttle picks you up. For $9 a day uncovered it's a great deal. Shuttles run regularly, they offer complementary bottled water when you exit the parking lot. They also offer valet service.

The storefronts flip from quirky to arty and classic that keeps the walk interesting. Mini golf and bowling, too! Two unique things that make the Loop uniquely the Loop are the Planet Walk and the Saint Louis Walk of Fame. The Planet Walk is a scale model of the Solar System that stretches a half mile or so along Delmar mapping out the distances between the planets. And alongside this, the Walk of Fame runs along with stars honoring famous Saint Louisians (Saint Louisans?) set into the sidewalk. It's fun to spot names you know and names that are new to you. Chuck Berry. Maya Angelou. Tennessee Williams. Nelly. The Loop is named for the Loop Trolley. It launched in 2018, hit some operational and funding issues, and ended service in 2023. I'm bummed that I missed the opportunity to ride it. Maybe it returns one day? But even without the Trolley, the Loop is one long ribbon of activity. The Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City was a really nice surprise and much more impressive…read morethan I expected. The interior is beautiful, and it felt like there were miles and miles of hallways to wander, which made exploring half the fun. I could only look into the galleries through the windows, but even from a distance they looked spectacular and full of detail. The rotunda was a standout for me, especially standing underneath it and looking up at the dome, which is genuinely stunning. It is one of those places that quietly sneaks up on you and makes you glad you took the time to stop and explore.

I've visited three state capitols, and they're all special in their own way. The Missouri one has…read moresome history of its own, as being the fifth overall capitol building in the state of Missouri, and just the 3rd one in Jeff City. You can park in a nearby garage or simply in front or back of the building. Be sure to check out the art and statues on the grounds, including the Statue of Liberty replica and the Thomas Jefferson statue. On the first floor is mostly the Missouri State Museum (not to be confused with the Missouri History Museum in St. Louis) where you can learn a lot about the Show-Me State. I highly recommend checking out the large timeline of Missouri events they have there. I also highly recommend checking out the gift shop, which doesn't seem like they have very much to offer (that's probably a good thing!). If you have a State Capitols Passport Stamp book, they will gladly stamp it. The other floors consist, of course, statewide offices as well as several offices for legislative leaders. As you enter the 2nd floor from the staircase you'll see the Governor's office door right away. (No, he wasn't there at the time of my visit). Down the hall is the Lt. Gov's office as well. The Senate and State House chambers are on the 3rd floor. Be sure to check out the detailed mural of artist Thomas Hart Benton, located on the 3rd floor. And the Hall of Famous Missourians, which consist of a very eclectic group of people: Walt Disney, Scott Joplin, Rush Limbaugh, Walter Cronkite, Stan Musial and many others. If you're a fan of visiting state capitols, this is for you. Got extra time? Check out the Bicentennial Bridge (MO celebrated its 200th birthday in 2021) that leads to a small island across the railroad tracks. Unfortunately, there's not much else to do in Jeff City, but you know.
