B & B Campers & Rvs - Leaves that were carefully replaced after the awning was opened. Thoughtful!

I'd love to be writing a glowing review, because it seems like Cheify, the owner, is a great guy,…read morevery friendly and personable. Alas, calling the work they did half-assed is an insult to people who only have half an ass. Slipshod, shoddy, indifferent, incomplete - these are the words that best describe their "efforts." To start - the good: Chiefy came to our house, took a look at our trailer (which had been sitting for five years) and said we had a hole in the roof from a fallen branch and he said it would cost about $2,000 - $2,500 to fix. Reader, it did not - it ended up costing $3,000, or as he put it "Just what I said it would cost." Ummm, what?? We explained we were going full time and wanted EVERYTHING checked out COMPLETELY because again, we were going to be living in this thing and repairs would be exponentially more difficult on the road. He said he'd test "all the systems," and we felt really confident that we were in good hands. In the end, he fixed the roof, installed new tires and wheel bearings, and flushed the winterization crap out of the system. So much for the good. When we got the trailer back, five days before we had to leave, we looked things over and immediately discovered the awning wouldn't open. When we called, he said that "his guys" had opened it a little to get to the roof part. What's really interesting about this is that "his guys" also took the time to replace the pine needles that had been caught in the awning brackets, as seen in the photo. We really appreciated that they took the time to make it look like nothing had been done with the awning when in fact - oh, wait, yeah, nothing was done with the awning. Another thing we'd told him about were the stabilizer jacks. The rear set was having trouble extending and may have been bent. We said we wanted those checked and replaced if needed. His response "his guys" said they went up and down fine. Well, they must have the magic touch because no one since has been able to get them to go ALL THE WAY down. Maybe "his guys" partly extended them and called it all good? Next up - the runaway trailer brake actuator cable was frayed to the point of failure (again, see pictures). Apparently checking this is not a part of "checking all the systems." Side note - "his guys" left the light on the tongue jack on, killing the brand new batteries and necessitating a jump before we could even hitch the trailer up, so we know they were at least in the vicinity of the cable at some point in time. On to the AC - apparently another system that's not a part of the systems that get checked - it is continually short cycling and needs a tune up, per the other RV tech we spoke with to fix the issue, who explained the problem was that the coils needed to be cleaned. Next, the slide outs - the larger of the two squeaks badly when extending and retracting. Maybe it just needs some lube (which we bought) or maybe it's something more, like some misalignment? Who knows - apparently the slideouts are not one of the "systems" tested. Finally, a minor issue - the grey and black tanks were supposedly flushed as part of the whole de-winterizing. When we connected the sewer hose at the first RV park (after using the bathroom a couple of times), we discovered - surprise! - they didn't shut the valve, so some lovely raw sewage dumped out. All this is particularly frustrating since we talked to him quite a bit about how we were going full-time, and one would expect that a mechanic, knowing that, would be particularly thorough. This was clearly not the case. Also, while "all systems" were supposedly checked, we never got a checklist or anything like you get for an auto inspection detailing what was done and what needed to be fixed. We just got a bill for the work that was done, and faulty assurances that everything had been checked. Like I said, he seems like a great guy, and I find it hard to believe he is lying deliberately. Maybe "his guys" are telling him things that aren't true, but without any kind of checklist and accountability, we'll never know. If you have a specific issue that needs to be fixed, the work that was done seems high quality, and he had pictures that they took during the process. For general tune ups and inspections though, I would definitely go somewhere else. Caveat emptor. TL;DR - We asked for the trailer to be THOROUGHLY checked because we're going to be living in it for a year. We got adequate work on some of the things we specifically asked about. We cannot say anything beyond that was actually checked, despite claims to the contrary, because we are continually discovering problems that would have been caught by a real inspection. EDIT - Both of the small exhaust fans in the bedroom and bathroom are also not working.

The staff at Cold Springs have been nice but unfortunately that has been our only positive…read moreexperience since buying our camper. Once we signed the paperwork everything changed. We went to our demo excited to pick up our camper and start making memories. The tech doing our demo, while nice, was not knowledgeable about our camper and on multiple occasions pointed us in the direction of Google and YouTube. We got the trailer home and it was time to unhitch it from our truck. The jack stopped working due to the battery not being fully connected- something we assumed they would have made sure was completed. There was also water found within the inline fuse making it soaking wet. That was not the end. While putting the slide out we blew a fuse and had to replace them. There was also cracks in the molding we were assured would be fixed but it wasn't. Once we were finally able to get inside, things continued to get worse. There were cobwebs all over the place, leftover food in the microwave and grill from previous owners, a dead spider in the bed among other issues. It took over two hours to clean what we expected and were told would be done prior to picking the camper up. We reached out to both the salesman and finance manager we worked with as surely this couldn't be the level of customer service they feel is appropriate. We were given their sincerest apologies and assured our feedback would be used to train staff. When our battery died during this time period they offered to replace it. Unfortunately that was not the end of our bad experience. While preparing for our first trip we had to stop at a dump station as there was waste in the black tank that hadn't been emptied. On that first camping trip the front half of the underbelly of camper peeled off. This was another concern that we noted when looking at the camper and were assured that it would be taken care of and was "fine". Instead of being able to enjoy our camper we purchased, all enthusiasm has been taken from us as we worry and stress about what's going to happen next and what else might not have been caught by us or by Cold Springs staff when they allegedly inspected the camper.  If you buy a used camper from Cold Springs PLEASE do your due diligence to make sure the camper is inspected fully and the work you were told would be done is completed.

What a shame. Been with them since buying an RV 4 years ago. From the get go problems. Fortunately…read morethey were receptive and took care of them from the Sales side. Service side was fine in 2021-2022 and on top of there game. Then 2023-2024 hit and what a nightmare. All service took Months and never was it fixed the first time. My last service just ended after ray (The GM) kept my RV from November 2023 to April 23 2024 (5 months). Still was not fixed. Radio, batteries dead, rusted areas, Engine light on Level system problem and they were going to let me drive off. We were considerate, never negative and patient. Now that I am asking to simply finish one last detail ray says I need to find another service ctr. So he whined in an email below. After he said communication in his dept. was a problem, I asked him to respond to me after almost a week of waiting. His EM pertaining to the SSD card: Hi Paul, I apologize , I'm sure it's still in the old radio, I will check with the girls and warranty dept on Monday and see if the old radio is still here or already got sent back for warranty, if it already got sent back I will get you another micro sd card.. He said he would get me another one. I am asking for it as Navigation is imperative. So I was waiting. Then he sends the one below saying too bad I am not getting you one because I asked what the update was and communication was still a problem. Paul, My girls have been instructed that I would communicate with you since your last visit going forward, so thats on me! with our campground and every other one we deal with opening up this week i've / we've been spread a little thin! I have been in our campground and shop all week until 8pm+ dealing with issues and will be for the next month! Its not an excuse its just my reality! If that's how the radio was sent to us, thats how it came! We would not have removed it! This was a replacement through extended warranty and not the OEM. The cards are NOT radio specific! So please use the one that you have from the old radio! I think going forward it will be in your best interest to find a different service center, we will never unfortunately live up to your expectations!
