If I could give negative stars, I would…read more Before any work was performed, we agreed on a price. I was initially quoted $100 for a trip fee and $150 for labor to prepare an insurance estimate. Because I didn't want to pay the trip fee, I offered to bring my camper to their shop instead. After several days of phone calls and text messages, I was told they would already be working nearby and that it would fit their schedule better to come to me. I was specifically told the trip fee would be waived, and when I asked what the total charge would be, I was told it would be "about $150." Instead, I received an invoice for $432.22--nearly three times the agreed-upon amount. The invoice included the $100 trip fee that had been waived, one hour of labor billed at $195 even though both the agreed-upon price and the labor rate posted on their website were $150, and an additional $99 insurance claims processing fee that was never disclosed or discussed beforehand. What made this even more concerning was that the estimate Big Jerm prepared for my insurance company did not match the invoice they later claimed they expected to be paid for the work. When I questioned the discrepancies, I was told the additional charges were justified because they had spent "hours" on phone calls and back-and-forth emails with my insurance company. However, no breakdown of those hours, documentation of the time spent, or any supporting records were ever provided. The explanation was vague and non-specific, making it impossible to verify the additional charges. When I asked that the invoice be corrected to reflect the price we had agreed upon before any work began, the office manager responded by threatening to file a mechanic's lien against my camper rather than addressing my concerns or attempting to resolve the billing dispute. Communication throughout the entire process was also extremely poor. It took multiple phone calls and text messages just to schedule the estimate, and because of the lack of communication and difficulty getting them to follow through, I ultimately chose to have the repairs completed by other means. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Big Jerm. Even when a price is clearly agreed upon in advance, my experience was that the final invoice did not reflect that agreement, additional charges appeared without prior disclosure, and concerns about the billing were met with threats instead of professional customer service. For those reasons, I would not use this business again and cannot recommend them to others.

A top YouTuber on RV lifestyles posted a video with a Kleen Tank expert, and I was impressed with the idea that I could get the tanks in my pre-owned LQ "factory clean" and maintain them without harsh chemicals or treating them like a septic vs a holding tank. I found Tom on the Kleen Tank site as a rep serving the Carolinas. I reached out and got an immediate, friendly response, up front estimate and no pressure. I set up an appointment at a campground near home where I could park my trailer with a full hookup. Tom was early to the campground, and helped me get unhitched and set up, which I much appreciated since it was my first time handling the gooseneck and a full setup (water, power, sewage, leveling etc). Even though the dealer said the tanks were cleaned, I watched as Tom power washed and drained the gray and black tanks, and plenty of gunk came out of both. The process ended with perfectly clear water running out of the hose and all sensors working. Amazing! Tom couldn't have been more polite and professional. He also took the time to give my water heater a good flush, and at my request, reviewed best practice going forward for gray and black tank maintenance. I grabbed this shot of him at work on my rig. Very happy with the service and love starting out with clean tanks and a plan for keeping them problem free.

Ok. I have a transmission issue…read more Brought it in to determine the root-cause. They found an old (not cleared) thermostat problem that I fixed a year ago. It didn't totally close, thus not allowing the Cat o get up to temperature quickly enough. I replaced for $25 and 45 minutes, easy. Check-engine light disappeared. But obviously the code locked in. And also they said I needed a full replacement transmission. Which I don't deny may be required. , sorta. I am 71 years old, done professional car work since 17. The ONLY reason I am not doing this myself is age. But that said, before I would tear down anything I would already know what component is bad. A valve, cam sensor, etc. My symptoms are of a valve-body stuck valve, causing the clutch(s) to not fully engage. Thus I wanted a more concise explanation for why I should give them $5,000 - $6,000 to replace the entire Xmission. I really should have had a talk with the trained mechanic that could go into depth about the detailed reason it is giving me problems. But I got the worker at the register explaining the estimate to me. I have 100% confidence she has ZERO true mechanical knowledge/training past what to say. She should have called the Tech to talk to me. Had that happened I would have set an appointment to have it replaced. But given the weak thermostat ($330) ghost diag, I had zero confidence about the rest of their work. Reminds me of "give a kid a hammer and everything looks like a nail".

They drove us back to the campground after the RV was towed to their shop and even made a stop for ice so we could save our food. They had a driver go to Knoxville to get the part and had our RV repaired by noon the next day. They even picked my husband up at the campground and drove him back to the shop to pick up the RV.
