It was so new in fact that it wasn't yet listed on Yelp and I couldn't check in. I just happened to have an item I needed to return from another location with me and since I was right there I popped in. While it was a typical Dollar General in alot of ways there were several noticeable differences,specifically in the housewares section. THEY HAD DISPLAYS! I'm talking full blown thoughtfully decorated displays of merchandise like Target has. Modern farmhouse style is in right now and that's what was front and center. So many choices too, everything from towels, trinkets, dishes, flowers, arrangements, etc, all themed to that style. They had a much bigger selection of housewares in general than any other location I've been to. And who doesn't love a good Dollar General?!? Now I love them even more! I suspect since this is a new location that it is the "model" for what they will all eventually be. I can't wait. Once I pried myself away from home decor they had all the other depts, however much more inventory and choices in general because they used a very high shelving system. The cashier was happy to take my return even though it was purchased elsewhere (no receipt either so he gave me a gift card). Markers and shields were in place due to covid and while they didn't sanitize the carts for you they did supply spray and towels. 4 stars because I would be afraid of the parking lot at night. The way the store is positioned employees can't really see you and the parking lot is quite expansive. It's been a few years since I last visited this salon. This is why I haven't returned…read more.. I had a scheduled appointment to get a quick trim on my lunch hour. When you walk in, you're greeted by the owners two dogs. I'm a dog person so it didn't bother me but if you don't like dogs, you may find it very off putting. I had an appointment with the owner. She had done my hair before and that was neither great nor horrible. But I worked within walking distance so it was just easy and all I needed was a cut. She asked if I wanted a wash. I said no. My hair wasn't dirty and I figured she'd just use a spray bottle of water like most places. Wrong! She seemed kinda annoyed I didn't want the extra service. So rather than use a spray bottle of water, she flat ironed my hair. My hair is long and naturally curly. I told her I didn't want it straight. She said that it would be fine and my hair will bounce back. Does she not know how to cut hair unless it's flat and straight? I wasn't happy at all but left her finish . My hair was straight and she still didn't cut it right. I had long pieces she missed and it was crooked. My bill when I left was still like $60 because she used her flat iron. I paid and left and never went back. FYI, my hair didn't just "bounce" back. It took weeks. Weeks of me hating my hair.
