I have Parkinson's and she came in and looked at me with her assistant and walked back out the door, and I could hear them talking about me saying "she doesn't look sick". I got up and walked out. And it's not only me other people have had bad experiences with her! Please get a new Neurologist ! But the doctors and the nurses are amazing. However, the front desk is always chaotic. Somebody needs to be in charge up there.!

On two separate occasions they completed ingrown toenail removals on two family members. Both times it required a second procedure later. On the second one, I inquired after being told that they did not put the nail bed neutralizer on the nail bed. I was informed that this was because of the infection the first time. However, the second procedure was also preceded by an infection that was worse the first time. I asked why they could do it this time but not previously. No adequate answer was provided, but there was a lot of babbling and double talk. This was the exact same scenario as for the other procedure. Both family members walked in with obvious infections and soreness due to the ingrown toenails. Both times, they cut out the nail, charge the insurance and charge copays for the visit and follow-ups. Both times, the nail grew back because the nail bed was not treated and another infection ensued. Both times, the exact same procedure was repeated with the addition of the nail bed neutralizer the second time. Both times, the toes looked identical for all practical purposes during the first and second procedure. Most recently, once again, after the surgery they scheduled a follow-up. I inquired if there's going to be a copay (and obviously insurance billing). The answer was yes and since the toe looked perfect, I canceled the appointment. I'm not paying a ridiculous copay and allowing them to bill insurance company for them to look at the toe and say, "Looks good, have a good day." This is in my opinion not only malpractice but criminal. I am pursuing further options and cannot wait for my day in court and with regulators.

They do it as just another business they can own and operate. I am my parents caretaker and have been bringing them to this podiatrist for about three years with no problems. Each year my dad, 88, gets a free pair of shoes that is covered by Medicare due to his diabetes. This year the office hands him his pair of shoes and we thanked them. Three months later we get a bill in the mail for $150. My dad never spent $150 for a pair of shoes in his life. I called the office and mentioned that we said we'd take the shoes only if they were covered like last time and they said no problem. I told them the box was never opened and we will be glad to return them as we cannot afford them and they said they need the balance in full. This dragged on for over six months. Then both of my folks had an appointment as their feet were in bad shape. I called the office the day before inquiring about the bill and if there is still a problem. The girl said to come down for the appointment and not to worry about it, she will look into it. When I finally transported my mom in her wheelchair into their waiting room and dad sitting close by, this incredibly nasty and bully like woman emerges from behind the counter and demanded the $150 and the so called doctor CANNOT see them until it is paid! I asked her if we can speak alone. I told her I called the day before and she said that girl wasn't in and she made a mistake. You shouldn't be here unless the $150 is paid and was literally throwing us all out into the the street. Nicholas Rutledge came out to see what all the fuss was about and said that he is trying to run a business here. I asked him what happened to the doctors office! He said he will see my mom that day but NOT my dad because the bill was my dads. Would you believe? This guy is nothing more than a glorified shoe salesman. Stay away!

Customers sometimes wait as much as an hour to be seen. When someone asks how much longer, I've heard her say more than once "why, do you have to be somewhere?" No sign of an "I'm sorry for the delay" or "we're running behind". She obviously thinks everyone is retired with no where else to go, or that no one's time is as important. She needs a reality check & frankly a new line of work that doesn't involve people.

I go see the new to me dr (Mazziotta). He says I'm not sure what it is, and it could be a wart. He said let's try this wart bandaid and see if it clears it up . I did and eventually when the bandaid came off it was white and the area was sensitive. I bought more of the wart bandaid and continued the burning of my skin. It didn't work needless to say. I had communicated with my dermatologist through the Portal and sent pictures telling her that Dr M thinks it's a wart. She said it's not a wart and went back to see dr Mazziotta. He said (which i believe is accurate), that if it's a gel like substance behind the top layer it's a cyst, and if it bleeds it's a wart. He stabbed me very hard with like a needle and blood came out. All I could think at the time was, of course it's bleeding, it went all the way into my toe through all the layers. He said it's gotta be a wart if it's got blood. I think he mumbled something like and I don't do surgeries any more anyways ( if it was a cyst). I'm sketchy on the rest of the conversation, but I think he said to try the wart bandage again and get back to him with results. Needless to say once it scabbed back up, I peeled the scab. It was all a gel like liquid no blood at all. I took pics of it all. I sent pictures to my dermatologist explaining what the " professional " foot dr was saying, and she just said I need to deal with Dr M. BTW,The portal sucks for Indian river podiatry. It wouldn't let me send my pictures and later on it wouldn't even accept my payment above and beyond my co-pay for some reason. It had a prompt that said to pay bill click there... nope, didn't work call the office. I did get an email at the office to sent the pics for Dr M to see. I received a reply that stated they can't tell anything by the pictures I sent, and I would have to see the Dr. In lieu of making another appointment and wasting my time and money for extra billing that I shouldn't have to deal with, I just switched Drs. I got right in to a different foot Dr and explained the circumstances. He scraped the top part of my scab and saw all the gel. Below crust and gel substance he saw the cyst. He says it's "a well defined cyst". I will now be getting the service I expect in a doctor, with expertise, and decisive diagnosis. He also will operate when I get back from vacation. Dr M seemed like a decent guy, but I deserve better.

My experience with Advanced Foot and Ankle has been consistently positive without exception. No doctor or practice in this specialty is more respected nor more deserving of that respect. Dr. Paradoa is the best, period. She is certified in Foot Surgery, Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (of which she has served as president) and by the American Professional Wound Care Association. I don't doubt that others may have encountered front-office or scheduling glitches, especially when Dr Paradoa must respond to emergencies at Cleveland Clinic, but the professional medical care delivered by Advanced Foot and Ankle is second to none.
