I'm having a knee replacement in January. I would go nowhere else but them. my entire family has had procedures done by their staff, and they are wonderful. I did not care for the Neurologist, Michelle Offner. I have Parkinson's and she came in and looked at me with her assistant and walked back out the door, and I could hear them talking about me saying "she doesn't look sick". I got up and walked out. And it's not only me other people have had bad experiences with her! Please get a new Neurologist ! But the doctors and the nurses are amazing. However, the front desk is always chaotic. I am a teacher and when I spoke on the phone with Sharina in the authorization department I was still on campus at work, so it was a little hard for me to focus on what she was saying, but I didn't want to miss her call because it was very important to me. She told me my MRI was denied by my insurance, but I was a little confused why. After work I called her back to get some clarification. I said, "Hi there, Im a teacher and my school was a little chaotic when we spoke on the phone earlier, I was hoping you could please clarify some things for me about the MRI". And she said in the rudest tone, "We spoke earlier at length about this, what could I possibly explain to you." It was so incredibly rude. I have been trying to get answers about my pain for the past 4 months. I began to cry on the phone because I was so overwhelmed with this whole process and I could not believe the rudeness I was experiencing from her. She also called the doctor by her first name and I wasnt familiar with her first name, when I asked for clarification she said, "Don't you remember seeing your doctor last week?" ...She should not be working in a customer service position and I seriously hope Vero Ortho reads this and addresses it because that was so ridiculous I don't even want to go back. read more

Vero physical therapy. Amazing. Had a severe Achilles injury. Michelle my therapist is the best. Recommended dry needling which involves placing needles into the tendon to speed up healing. I have used Vero Orthopedic three times for foot, hand, and now a back issue. The staff is and the facility is nice but everything else about this medical office is hard and frustrating to deal with. Forget ever trying to get a report or your MRR and X-rays sent to you or another doctor. They use a third party in Texas that you submit repeated request and make numerous calls to and still after a month of trying the records never get sent. Totally worthless service. After repeated request my wife drove to Vero and paid to get a copy of my X-rays and MRI that they did. I am 76 and very active. I recently ruptured a disk in my lumbar spine. I am in extreme pain now for weeks and it took me a couple weeks to get to see a certified doctor to suggest a path forward to get back to a healthy state again. I saw Dr, Popp that has the personality of a fish. He is against giving any pain meds when my pain is a 10+ 24/7.Not knowing the seriousness of my condition I had hoped to ask a few questions to help me understand my condition better, and what would be the long term success of surgery for someone my age. The replies were short and vague. I didn't get a sense of real concern for my condition that you might expect from a doctor. I am sure he is a good surgeon and many people have been satisfied with his work, but for me when it comes to my health I need to feel comfortable with the person I am entrusting my care. read more

My care has always been thorough and I've always felt I was in good hands with the doctor I was seeing for the specific problem that I was experiencing. My appts are consistently 45 min to an hour late. I leave my work to be on time and I sit! The care is excellent however time management needs a great deal of improvement. They should not be booking so many patients. The doctors want to provide the best care and as a provider myself, I completely understand. However, being the patient and not being seen until an hour after my appt is very frustrating. My time is just as valuable. read more

I have used Vero Orthopaedics for 3 past surgeries (one near disaster) but a recent experience was terrible. A scheduled shoulder surgery was cancelled twice with no explanation nor the courtesy of a call. I wouldn't even give them a 1 star, they are that bad. My Primary Dr. referred me to Dr Garcia but he was unavailable so I went to see Dr. Alex Dees for hip pain. He scheduled a stat MRI. A week later I hadn't heard form anyone so I call the Office and was told it was faxed to the Xray place. I called and they had no record of an MRI order. I called 3 more times and got the same answer. I was told if I got their fax number, they would fax it. After 3 weeks I gave up and went to a more reliable Dr. Apparently, this place is way too busy to care for Patients but are quick to bill you. Excellent, excellent doctors! I saw Dr. Peden about 2 years ago for a VERY bad shoulder injury. I had seen another doctor prior to going to him and didn't have a good experience. Dr. Coren did the initial assessment and ordered tests. He was great. He had me see Dr. Peden. He was awesome! He is extremely knowledgeable and honest. He explained everything in great detail and told me my options. He did the surgery and on the follow up exam he showed me the internal video of the surgery! WOW...that was awesome. This is about their Billing department, who can get you and your insurance company billed wrongly and send you to collection if you do not pay your Copay. These people are mean. Do not respond to your claims. They bill out of the hat for even 'follow up' visits. Saw Dr.Cohren started out ok then when down hill. Got an MRI, went back for results, he started talking about the inner anatomy of the knee, I asked him to show me where on the image he was referring so I could understand better & he said "Be quiet and listen" was floored at how rude he was. Would never go back, recommend or do anything with this practice. They farm out all their services. Everything done thru texting. Asked for copy of MRI, which was done on site, NOPE....its in a cloud at another outsourced company location and took 3+ weeks to get. I was seeing Dr Amber Morra as a second opinion. It started out well, then SHE brought up surgery, we discussed it at length, then I asked her to consider doing it a different way, she acted like she was on board, my caregiver was with me, we all seemed satisfied in trying this surgery first before the more radical, she walked out to get her surgical coordinators card, the tech walked in to see me out. I asked about the card, she said they were out, but gave me her name. I was told I needed 2 clearances, which wasn't an issue, then the coordinator said that the doc said I wasn't a surgical candidate?!! And went as far as to cancel my next appointment! No other options, my foot is still in a boot. No weaning me off of it, just dumped with no reason for her 180* change or any other plan of care! Unbelievable, should be considered malpractice! I have been going to Vero Orthopedics for years with various issues. Thus far I have had excellent advice and treatment. Dr. Kane is my pain mgt. doctor and I couldn't ask for anyone better. Dr. Kinsella was really good as well. Just saw Dr. Panatonni and he was great, took all the time necessary and I was able to ask questions concerning another issue I have which usually you can only address one issue at a visit. The only complaint I have ever had was in the Physical Therapy department. They paid no attention to whether I was performing my exercises correctly or not, just stayed on computer or talked to another therapists. Needless to say, I found another PT place. Their new building allows for most all tests to be performed "in house" which is so very convenient instead of going elsewhere. Thanks Vero Orthopedic and Neurology, keep up the good work. read more

They have been impossible. They are slow - hurry up and wait. Lots of staff but they don't seem to know how to use the technology they have. You can't speak to a human being. You have to text. I was told I had to make another appointment with a second doctor for injury to the same arm because each only treat one part. I have waited and waited. There is no privacy. The waiting and therapy areas are like gymnasiums. The therapists wear jeans adding to an unprofessional atmosphere I would go out of my way to avoid returning. read more

Have been a patient there for 15 years,. I was seeing Dr William Kean have been on pain meds the whole time. With no relief to be seen I complained that the pain was getting worse. I'm in tears and he walks out of the office doesn't say a word and the next thing I know the nurse comes in saying I'm done. I leave schedule my next appointment, again nothing said. 2 weeks later I have to call the office to ask a question and they informed me that I am no longer a patient. I was discharged by the doctor. So now 15 yrs. 1 surgery, shoulder still hanging out of the socket. Pain thru the roof and I have to find a new doctor before my meds run out(I have sezures without it) in a pandemic! I made an appointment with Dr. Amber Morra because I heard good things about her. After spending 20 minutes filling out the information required on line and then all the draconian releases you must sign (and there were many) detailing all the excessive fees you might subject to (the final one want you to agree to them giving out your information so you could getting advertising sent to you), I decided this place was not for me. I just call them to cancel and waited on line only to have someone pick up and then put me on hold and then was disconnected. I will never use a doctor who works at then facility under these conditions. I really want to use Dr. Morra but not under these conditions. read more

My wife had appointment scheduled for 3/24. They called in late January to cancel the appointment and reschedule. Got an appointment for 2/1. Nice! But when we arrived for appointment was told it had been canceled. Rescheduled AGAIN for the next day 2/2. Arrived for appointment and after waiting for 30 minutes was told the doctor was running 2 hours behind and was asked if we wanted to reschedule AGAIN! Terrible customer service. If I could give negative stars I would. Everything about this office is horrible!!! The receptionists, the PT crew, the medical technicians and especially Dr Hill!!! You wait over a hour past your scheduled apt time and then a very rude and arrogant Dr Hill comes in the exam room for less than 3 minutes, doesn't listen to a word you say and leaves. I got below adequate care here , and was treated horrible by everyone once I started to question why I was getting worse instead of better. I ended up going for a second opinion and what a difference a real office with caring doctors and staff make. Also trying to get your medical records from their office is next to impossible! Don't expect for them to be ready for you at your scheduled appointment time. My wife has been there twice and waited 45 minutes past her appointment each time. Last time they said they were on schedule when we arrived but called the wrong name and when we didn't respond (to the wrong name) they gave her slot to the next person waiting. Then when we asked what was taking so long they lied and said first that "any minute your next" which later turned into "they were behind". I bet if a patient showed up 45 minutes late they would refuse to see them and bill them for the missed appointment. read more

I have seen 4 Drs. at this practice over the years and NOT one of them has been able to help with any of my issues. Add to that on one recent occasion Dr. Ofner was rude, dismissive and borderline abusive. Never in my life have I been treated this way. If I could give no stars I would. My daughter was injured and referred to Dr. Coren at Vero Orthopaedics in September. We had one surgery and this was to gather cells for the second MACI procedure. The office and Dr gave us the run-around for six months (daily calls to them trying to get info ignored) they kept blaming the insurance company before they finally admitted that Dr.Coren cannot do the procedure she needed. We were sent to a doctor in West Palm Beach. Now that she's had the procedure and needs physical therapy, the Sebastian office won't even submit the claim to the insurance and keeps delaying her therapy after weeks of calls. When I hurt my back in Nov. 2020, I went to Vero Orthopedics in Sebastian, FL. Unfortunately, I initially saw Dr. Coren. I've NEVER been treated SO BADLY by anyone, much less a doctor. He wasn't interested in anything I had to say about what my problem was. He could only berate me with every breath, yank on my legs and continue to cause me severe pain again and again, while he talked to the nurse. He made SURE to tell me that he wasn't going to help me in any way and that he wasn't in "pain management", and therefore wasn't going to help me at all. In the end, he told me to see another doctor or just go to the hospital ER. After being wheeled out into the lobby (because I could not walk), I felt completely bewildered, upset and thinking I had done something wrong, when all I was asking for was a diagnosis and some help. I've never hurt my back before and had no idea what was happening, other than the fact that I felt like I had just been scrapped off of the bottom of his shoe. Unbeknownst to me, my husband had gone upstairs while I was getting an x-ray, and raised TOTAL HELL with the doctor that had referred me. He was on the 2nd floor of the same building. One of the nurses from that practice came down & got things moving for us. While I sat in Vero Orthopedics lobby in tears from being in so much pain and having been treated like I was scum, a nurse came up and whispered in my ear. She told me she worked for another doctor in the office and that they were going to take me to the back of the office and get me some help. (Thank God for my husband!). They were only waiting for Dr. Coren to go into an exam room, and they would wheel me back. They did. They gave me a shot, a prescription, and set up an appointment with a different doctor in the office. They were MORE than helpful. They were sympathetic and compassionate to me when I needed it most of all. I returned a day later to see a different doctor. I had an MRI done and found I had SEVERAL herniated discs in my lower back. After several weeks of PT, I was able to walk again and the feeling in my foot slowly returned. I'm, thankfully, almost back to "normal" without surgery, etc., but it came at a price. A price I paid by seeing Dr Coren in the beginning. If it hadn't been for my husband, I'm not sure what I'd have done. I cannot say ANYTHING good about Dr Coren, AT ALL. He's a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE person and an even worse doctor. Honestly, I don't know why he even bothers to get up in the morning, unless he just likes hurting people, because he certainly doesn't help them. read more

Pros: usually phone answered right away for an appointment and phone staff seem happy to speak to you. JC in particular is very customer friendly. Comfortable waiting room seats although generally not waiting over 15 minutes. Excellent doctors: Dr. Popp, Dr. Forest, Dr. Coren, Dr. Offner. I appreciate that Dr. Smilie knew to refer me on to another specialist in Coral Gables who has privileges at a hospital that would have been able to perform a complicated procedure if I had needed it. When my PCP office was incapable of getting an auth for an outpt med, this office made it happen. On several occasions a billing person has answered a billing question while I'm still in the exam room, instead of having to call and leave voice mail. If your situation is urgent they will work you in and see you same day. Consents @ VO can have exceptions such as opting out of marketing (but not at Dr. DiLella's, where you have to agree to marketing--no exceptions. Had one visit there and was treated coldly). Cons: the company that provides the tablet that you enter information for why you're being seen today, leads you to believe you have to "give" them your information by accepting, which you don't, just decline at the end. The information you just gave the staff still gets to them, although like most physicians they may seem to not read it before seeing you. Generally, a several day wait for an answer to a question for the doctor left on the medical assistant voice mail--quality standard is no more than 2 business days. It is difficult to get your medical records and radiology results--I complained about not being able to see and print my records and reports from the portal a couple of year ago and no improvement--electronic records are supposed to make it easier for the patient to manage their own care, not harder. If you ask for a printed result report during your exam, they will give it to you. Never received the itemized bill from the last part of 2018 and all of 2019 to make it easier for me to reconcile with my insurance. Did have a procedure authorization fall through (not ins) making the surgery over a month delayed. Got stuck with a high boot that insurance covers only once every 5 years. While still in the exam room I was told it might make my foot turn out and I replied that it would probably aggravate other problems, which was what happened with just a few steps in the office, but they refused to take the boot back even though I can't wear it. The podiatry specialist I was referred to, gave me an ankle brace that works well. The patient should be able to try the recommended brace in the office, like I did, and if it's uncomfortable, not have to keep it and pay for an expensive item that makes them worse and not better. Overall the practice management side of things could be improved, but the doctors I've mentioned are excellent in their specialty and will take time with you. read more

I was involved in an auto crash at work and was referred to Dr. Popp and Dr. Peden. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate their care and skills. Between the two of them I'm well on my way to being pain free after being in pain for a year. They always answered any questions or concerns I have. If I ever have any more orthopedic problems I will definitely go back to Dr. Popp or Dr. Peden. read more

Fractured my back and went to IRMH. Dr Popp was assigned case. Friendly outgoing and provided little to no information. Follow up one week later had no idea who I was and no record in their system. IRMH at fault on that one. Set me up for MRI a week later only to get a call the day before he does not accept HMO. Damn that was my fault??? Said they would call later in the day for MRI they did not. Set it up myself. Via all this pain has intensified and this office ccfl. I recently went to see Dr. Hill for a pulled groin muscle. He gave me some pain meds after I requested it three days later, he put me on prednisone which did no good, he x-rayed and finally did an MRI. In the meantime I'm still in pain.it takes two weeks for him to read the MRI and have me come into his office. He suggested rehab of physical therapy which I had wanted much earlier. Now after six weeks and $20 of paying for copies of my x-rays and MRI's, I am now able to go to physical therapy. If you want your records from vera ortho be prepared to pay for it and wait 2 to 3 weeks. I have never had to pay for my own records. This will be the last time I will go to Vero orthopedics. read more
