We always enjoy ordering from Ruta Taina whenever we get the chance to. The food is great, no matter what you order. We have been having Ruta since it was a food truck. Our favorite dish has become the dufungo (plantains mixed with yellow plantain) with any kind of meat as the sauces are the perfect compliment. Staff is very polite and welcoming. There are definitely some things that can become frustrating such as the hours of operation not being consistent, and sometimes running out of supplies to make dishes, but we try to be understanding as they're still trying to figure out the logistics of having an establishment. I saw them advertised in Instagram. I stopped by to see what they had at lunch time. I didn't order from the menu. But they had a variety of food to choose from in a show case, it looked good, for $7.99, but I only purchased two beef empanadas and two maltas, my total was $14.48. When I sat down I noticed that they gave me an extra empanada. The Restaurant attendant told me the extra empanada was on the house. Looking at my receipt they charged me $ 3.40 for each malta , so, Yes I was over charged for the drinks.. indirectly , the extra empanada was more than paid for... In general the place was clean but it needs some upgrades like new chairs and some decorations. My suggestion on this matter is because its a new business and has room for improvements. read more

I have been to this location several times and always have been very pleased with the food and the folks that own the business. For those that love Puerto Rican frituras this is the place. My daughter who was been getting lunch from their lunch wagon had mentioned them several times till we finally went to the food truck and tried their food, happy to say it's delicious. Now their located in a resturant environment and their doing great business wise. The owners are very beautiful people, it run by the family which Mom and Pop helping out, I love it. read more
