Mega Cheese & Tots

This is right next to the beach and water! Scenic and busy. There's live music, which I didn't like because she was singing country and I hate country lol. I blocked it out. It's very busy so I'm usually sat outside. Getting eaten alive by bugs. I got the Mega Cheese & Tots in a giant margarita glass as my meal. It was fried deliciousness, I couldn't finish it though. Then I got the Blue Hawaiin Slush at the servers recommendation, mmm it was SO good!

I can only comment on the night life as I did not come here for food. We came on a Saturday night for drinks and live music and the Rusty Rudder did not disappoint. Beers/seltzers were about $9 a piece. The staff were great. There are multiple bars at this location, live music on the back patio and DJ inside, overall, would come again for the night life and recommend if you're looking for a great time and great music. Also Stealing Savannah was awesome, catch them at other venues in the area (DC, VA, Maryland as well)

Can't speak for the food as we just came for drinks on a Saturday night, but we really enjoyed the vibe here! Great band on the back patio. Loved that they had a DJ inside as well to mix up the vibes. Entrance fee came with a free drink. Bartenders were quick and courteous. Definitely a fun weekend spot!

They had a good variety of food, and were conveniently located by the place we went kayaking. It was quick and easy to get seated. Our waiter was attentive. We got a great spot where we could look out over the water.

This is not where you come for amazing eats and service, but the vibe certainly makes up for it. The Rusty Rudder is located directly on the bay and is where you'll want to be to enjoy the sunset with a drink (orange crush, obvi) in hand. The menu is pretty standard- think burgers, fried shrimp, chicken tenders, etc. It's all pretty barebones, but again with a view like this it doesn't need to be anything fancy! There's also a kids menu with a bunch of different options. The main draw of the Rusty Rudder is the live music. They have a large stage area and the band is viewable from nearly every seat outside. There's also a ton of seating. Usually at places on the water it can be hard to snag a table, but here it was no problem getting a table for 8 at dinner on a Friday. This is probably the best family friendly spot in Dewey to see the sunset, live music and have some eats and drinks. The Lighthouse next door has it all, but the layout makes it hard to see the band / water from every spot. And then North Beach does not allow children. This checked off every box, and we really enjoyed it!

Food is ok. Went in April so very limited food menu. Nice location. Employees friendly. Nothing special though. Go to Woodys.

Amazing vibes. On the water. Beers. Live music. All you need. Lots of bar space, so right on a dock, great views. Miss it right now.

Woody's Dewey Beach - Lump crab cake sandwich! Really good! It lives up to its reputation!

The service was also great, with multiple waitresses checking on us constantly. They treated my pup Griffey famously! He won Dog of the Day and the owner came and said hi. Introduction on Dewey Beach trip:…read more Representing 2023, W is for Woody's. In September 2023, I was on a group beach trip at a house in Dewey Beach a close walk to Woody's. I stayed for 3 nights. The timing of this trip ended up being good for three reasons: 1. Three weeks earlier I had surgery for cancer on Tuesday, 8/15/23. I was not aloud to go in pool, beach, or bathtub for exactly 3 weeks. My community pool's last day for the season was Labor Day Monday, 9/4/23 (2 weeks 6 days after my surgery), which kind of sucked because that kissed going to my community pool the rest of the season or any other pool parties. About a week earlier, my friend convinced me to go on the trip saying there was availability in the house during the Monday to Friday part. Ultimately, I decided to take off work on that Tuesday and worked from the house on Wednesday, but I had a great time on the trip that I decided to extend to Thursday doing the same working at the house. And I was able to fully enjoy the beach on Tuesday, 9/5 exactly 3 weeks later with no issues. As well as the other 2 days to lesser extent as I had work too. 2. DC/Maryland was experiencing an intense September heat wave with temperatures in the upper 90's; so it was great timing to escape to the beach where temps there were still pretty hot as high as low 90's. 3. Most importantly, I met my girlfriend of now 2 years on this trip! We were friends for several months, but then dating started in February 2024. Experience with Woody's: If I hadn't extended my trip into Thursday, I wouldn't have tried Woody's. I was tired of leftovers after Tuesday & Wednesday night; I decided to go to Woody's for dinner. I called in the order, walked over didn't have to wait long, and took back. Friends looked a little jealous. I got the crab cake sandwich with fries. It was an amazing crab cake with great fries. It certainly wasn't a cheap dinner, but it was worth it for a good amount of crab cake with a high quality.

But, off season parking is much easier. Very friendly staff. It was a seat yourself place and there are tables with benches and chairs. We were greeted quickly. Seems as if the same person tending bar is the same who is serving the tables as well. Again, this was off season. She was very efficient and attentive. Very good customer service. Didn't order drinks, just ice tea, lemonade, and water. Ordered garlic parm wings (yummy), side of fries (should say trough full as it was such a generous portion), beef and cheddar sandwich with fries (get this - so tasty), a turkey burger (delicious and a mile high), chicken wrap, and a regular burger with no bun. Two of us got onion rings as a side. Everything comes with chips but can upgrade your sides. As far as taste, literally nothing put on our table was bad! Everything was delicious. You can't make a bad choice here. The menu does give a wide range of options so even a picky eater will find something. Such a down home nice local place to grab a bite. Very comfortable place with friendly vibes.

First time trying this place and I will have to give it another go the next time I'm in town…read more Especially during a time when there isn't live music. Not a diss to the live music, but because there won't be a communication barrier. I find it funny that they give you a menu when they seat you, but all you have to do is look up. The menu adorns the ceiling and definitely gives you a reason to be distracted. Be sure to ask what the market rate is on the items that state this. It can be a bit much, and will guide you in making a choice. I went with a classic cheeseburger...by mistake. Why by mistake you ask. That communication barrier because of the live music came into play. I said what I wanted, and could not hear the next part. I am assuming that I was asked how I want it prepared. I said medium. But what probably actually happened was she had asked how I wanted it cooked and what I wanted it topped with. When the cheeseburger showed up, it was plain as plain could be. If I was able to hear I would have gotten lettuce, onion and pickle. I was able to ask for some mustard. Ketchup was already on the table. It tasted a bit bland, but that was mostly my fault. Fresh cut fries were the perfect pairing. Easy cleanup here too.

Lots of local products as well as options from Aslin etc. The Rita's Mango beer was yummy and I'm not a sour/fruited beer drinker.
