Servers were all extremely friendly, checked on us often and made plenty of conversation. We started with the Cheesesteak Eggrolls, huge. Common theme with all the portions! Definitely a lot to eat as a starter, needed a little salt. Entrees were the Scott Van Melt & Famous Turgeon Tenders (on the Light Fares/Starters). Both were so good, I dare to say the tenders were some of the best I've ever had. Love spicy food and this scratched that itch! Super super tender. Only negative, not really a negative more of a small disappointment were the crushes. Everyone had said this was the place to go, they market themselves as the best. These were extremely liquor forward, maybe just a heavy pour, but not at all our favorite. Wish there was a bit more flavor, orange and bourbon were the ones we tried.

I would give it 0 stars if possible. This is by far one of the worst establishments that I've been to in Dewey. I went to this bar on vacation with my mother and younger brother. After 45 minutes of my brother not getting his food (soup and pretzels) he decided to cancel his order and we were going to go somewhere else. A highly agitated bar tender comes by and slams the check on the table, when I ask my mother what happened she proceeds to tell me the food was taking forever. This female bartender walks over with an attitude and very aggressively asks my mother what she's talking about. I tell the lady to go away and mind her own business, she starts screaming at me and kicks me out of the bar. I really didn't care, it was a shit bar with horrible drinks. HERE IS THE KICKER- they charged me 22% gratuity on my card because I didn't close it out when I got kicked out. How much sense does it make that a bartender can kick someone out for literally nothing and they can still charge a tip to your card. This is a BS bar and I would advise NO ONE to go there! PS- I called the manager trying to resolve this but never got a response. Great customer service... NOT read more

I had my son's rehearsal dinner party here. I was not impressed. They put us in the wrong room even though I had clearly stated I wanted the private room and not the loud, open air room that opened up to the bar area. I did not hear back from my contact and had to email her again to confirm the private room request. At the last minute, while the bridal party waited outside in the hot sun, they had to switch everything over to the private room. They gave us the wrong appetizer and the tables were plain metal tables, while photos showed nice white table cloths. Not at all what I expected. I was disappointed and embarrassed. The food was average. Needless to say, I would not recommend for an event. Two positives to add was our waiter taking orders was very friendly and quick; however, poor guy was by himself waiting on over 30 people. Second, the room did have air conditioning. Please note the open air room is not only loud, but right behind the bar area with open windows. People sitting at the bar are facing the room and looking right into the room. This is a RACIST establishment, please do not give this restaurant any business. My friends and I (a group of 13 minorities) were here this past weekend sitting at our table enjoying our drinks when 7 or 8 bouncers come up to us and tell us that we were avoiding our bill. They were adamant that we were not going to pay a bill WHICH WE NEVER RECEIVED. We told the bouncers several times that we had never received a bill, so they got us the bill, we paid, and then they kicked us out. There was no warning leading up to this point. There was no need for that many bouncers to confront us; it's not like we were going to jump in the bay and swim away without paying. We kept to ourselves and were not disturbing any of the other customers. We gave no reason to any of the workers to make it seem like we weren't going to pay the bill. This is the most blatant racism I have ever experienced in my life and I hope the owners of this restaurant have to file for chapter 7 soon. read more

My friend got married at the Hyatt across the street, and we celebrated the after-party at the Rusty Rudder. Unfortunately, the night took a terrible turn when one of the groom's cousins was forcefully removed from the bar. The bouncer grabbed him by the throat, carried him to the exit, and threw him to the ground. What made it even worse was that the groom's cousin was being completely polite about leaving and didn't want to cause a scene, especially on such an important night. It was shocking and deeply disturbing to witness this kind of aggressive and unprofessional behavior. I understand the need for maintaining order at closing time, but there's absolutely no excuse for this level of violence, especially when the guest was already cooperating. It was the worst thing I've ever seen at an establishment, and it completely soured what should have been a joyful celebration. read more

Wow. That's all I can say..and not in a good way. We were there on a Friday afternoon. Walked in .. confused from the get go. Some tables were full service, some were serve yourself, some had happy hour, some didn't. Bartender was a total bi*ch. Threw the menus on the bar..so, we went outside and planned on having lunch. Told a waitress we were sitting so they saw us but still waited 10 min to get waited on. Order 1 martini 1 beer. 6 minutes later she brought them. Asked for a food menu. Waited another 5 min for her to bring it. By then we were finished with our drinks and just totally annoyed. There were 6 other tables there. That's it. Not busy at all. Not a good experience. Tremendous service from the young lady for our family can't say the same for the food . I was really excited for the crab cake but so very disappointed taste less the crab alone would have been better I'm British as chef Ramsay would say don't these people taste the food they make are they afraid of seasoning the salad was ok I've had better. Here on the bay through Tuesday we won't go back . The service is very poor - consistently. We were ignored for 20 minutes - not even eye contact or acknowledged. Only once was the bartender even remotely friendly. We ate here three times and each time the service was extremely poor, slow, and indifferent. The steamer pots are excellent -- but most of the other food is nasty -- wilted vegetables, left-over coleslaw that smelled like it was a week old, and warm white wine. Horrible working environment. The management does nothing all day but choose favorites and sit and stare. Silverware is never actually cleaned and there is mold growing in the ice machines. We had a blast! .There is a dance floor and they had a live band playing inside. They also have a buffet which is a little pricey but looks delicious from where we were seated. Fish Hawk's is located on a strip of road better known for its 'surf city' vibe whereas Fish Hawk's reminded me of locations at the Jersey Shore in Margate or Asbury Park. The service and welcome were top notch. Every individual who spoke with us was smiling and friendly but we didn't have many questions since the menu is rather limited. The bar seemed well stocked but we came to eat and discover all that Fish Hawk's has to offer (Somehow social media they shared had reached us nudging our curiosity buttons.). We aren't drinkers so we cannot enter the Old Fashioned debate but there clearly are reasonably priced drinks in addition to a special drink that the menu points out. Our choices were the Roasted Corn flatbread and "Ozzy's Special." Ok, I immediately had to Google snakehead fish from which Ozzy's Special is focused on. It is an invasive fish that has taken over some Delaware waterways but it is edible ... a white mild fish, which our waitress confirmed. So, by eating snakehead we are helping the environment and therefore I felt good about my choice. That dead snakehead came with chips so I decided to add a side of "patatas bravas" which we were told were special. The flatbread was good, a nice afternoon treat with plenty of flavor. Other than helping the environment, Ozzy's Special was an ok fish sandwich with a decent slaw on top that was the best part of the sandwich; I don't think I'd order it again and would go for a flatbread or maybe the Crab Roll. AS for the Patatas Bravas ... they looked lovely and really appealing in the small cast iron pan but they were majorly UNDERCOOKED/UNDER ROASTED which took away from their potential (This may have been caused by rushing them out since they were forgotten when our order was delivered to the table.). As we were leaving Fish Hawk's was filling up with Happy Hour folks who seemed happy to be here and there were lots of interaction with the bar whose tender never stopped smiling. I wish there were more options to eat but this is truly an escape from some of the more "rustic" Dewey Beach locations for anyone seeking to share a few cocktails ... but that's not us.

They were clearly preoccupied with the bar and lounge crowd which was big. The other problem - they placed us at a table which was, without warning, two seats away from the lounge. I love showtunes. But I don't want to have that loudly being sung in a fine dining restaurant from ten feet away. And in my personal opinion, not well.

The seafood blends into everything and is the star but do not discount the details and sauces of each item to make it truly unique. There's zings and pows and delightfulness in addition to the huge pieces of scallop and salmon cake. The sense of richness is brought to every plate you don't want to stop eating. Do not sleep on their cocktail offerings! Strong drinks with strong mixed flavors- I got the silly blue drink with the blinking light inside and it was hilariously fun but also VERY tasty, tangy, and wonderful to drink alongside the food. I don't know how they manage to keep a cozy sense of special romance along with fun camaraderie but it's something unique to take notice and highly recommend to enjoy!

The interior is an open floor plan with a bar in the center. The decor had a modern industrial feel with high ceilings. We had reservations so even though the place was packed we were seated quickly. Once we were seated our waitress promptly took our drink orders and soon after our dinner choices.. The drinks came over quickly and so did our entrees. Everyone enjoyed their meals and they get a bonus star because they plated everything really well. We tried the red velvet cake and peach cake for desert. Both were fantastic. So the pros, the server is friendly and the atmosphere is pretty nice. The salad was good per my wife and mother-in-law. The coffee was fresh but it took a minute to get, not a big deal. The Bolognese was good as well, flavorful and plesant. Also they're quite generous with the pour on their wine so get drunk if you get the right wine. Now... the issues, let's start with the cold soup. I ordered mushroom bisque, apparently that was a mistake it came out cold, under seasoned, and hardly edible. Added about 2TSP of pepper to make it palatable. The music, whoever was playing it was nailing it but its way too loud, you're shouting to your party to have a basic conversation. Now moving in to my dinner, I must say I was generally disappointed again, spaghetti and meatballs with refills on the meatballs sounds great until you realize the meatballs are about 1/2 the size of a meatball I'd make at home. Its more like a Swedish meatball if you will. I'm underwhelmed, generally speaking as were the majority of my dinner guests. My wife says her ribs lacked sauce, they had plenty of meat but flavor-wise left her wanting. The fries were unsalted, and just underwhelming as well. A side note, I beg you separate the dining area from the bar with an actual wall. I love karaoke but not with my dinner... Remember, think before you dine... if you've got no other options sure this works but theres much better locations in Rehoboth Beach.
