Two years ago I was paying $80/month, a competitive premium after about ten years and no traffic violations of any kind with this company. Nothing has changed but State Farm has inexplicably hiked my car insurance more than 100% since 2022, now demanding $179/month without cause. I have been told COVID and my neighborhood location including car break ins may possibly be to blame, somehow. I don't believe it. I am a senior with a perfect driving record and I am being targeted and exploited for financial gain. Shocking and reprehensible. I made the switch to another carrier yesterday. Over 4 years ago I chose this Agent based on it's stellar reviews...I was so WRONG. When you don't have any issues...no claims...no accidents this office is a dream but as soon as there is an issue the people in this office show their true colours and the horrible weird passive aggressive service comes to the forefront. You know the cute little TAG line? It is a LIE "Like a good neighbor...State Farm is there"...is SOOOO NOT TRUE. "Like a backstabbing, fair weather friend neighbor State Farm is there" should be the tag line for State Farm. Someone rear ended me on I-5- Geico (the other's drivers insurance company) took full liability. My car was also less than 3 weeks old (OUCH) It is sad when the other person's insurance provider is nicer than your own insurance company. Thanks Geico. RUSTY'S OFFICE HORRIBLE: When I called Rusty's office on Monday-literally he was out of the office and "WORKING FROM HOME" so the woman that I spoke to texted him and received no response and I had to wait another day and I guess I was finally deemed important enough and received a call the following afternoon. Rusty you make money because I pay you for insurance and because I make no claims...so you should be grateful for policy holders like myself. The people who answer the phone are really odd-Rachel and Melanie. They are not friendly at all-they really have no feelings...monotone non feeling individuals...Robotic. Then he wanted a pat on the back that ha to be on the phone for 1.5 when I asked you to help me deal with the State Farm claims person to get me another Claims Rep. *I love that in his comments to me after he called me that he blames SF Claims for everything and takes no responsibility for his horrible office or his lack of service. He likes to pass the buck and say it not his fault. SF CLAIMS: -When I tried to call State Farm from the side of the road there was a 20 minute wait to even report an accident-So let's see... you're shaken up because someone hit you at almost full speed and you can't even get your insurance company on the phone to report the accident...yeah that sounds like good business practices to me. Then when I told my local State Farm agent that...he was very nonchalant about it and just said sorry...Rusty- is just here to make money he could care less if you have been in an accident or not. -Monday I had a screaming match with State Farm's representative claims representative. "Team Member". After she disagreed with everything I asked for and was told they couldn't do really anything for me and the very condescending tone of the claims Rep. Then why am I paying you for insurance? I understand they have a process but everything cannot be NO. -State Farm has "Select Service" collision centers which oddly enough have the lowest ratings on yelp and google reviews...but they assure you they have been carefully vetted and selected by State Farm for their superior service and their warranty. What they do not tell you these locations are in the worst areas in Seattle as well as the companies that you never would want to go to and State Farm uses them because they are CHEAP for State Farm-not because they are great. -I asked for the woman I had a screaming match with not to contact me again and I wanted to be reassigned to another claims agent...Evidently my claim wasn't important enough for it to be escalated and therefore ignored because the woman kept on calling me. Rusty's response to this "Well no one has ever asked us to do this before" Guess what I do not care...there is a first time for everything...get this horrible woman off my back and off my case. -I also asked that the State Farm Estimator come to my home which is also where I work (I work remotely), and my car is blowing black smoke-but they said I would need to drag it to the collision place and they may or may not cover the repairs at that location...They stated they only go to collision centers and to your work place. I really do not know why they cannot come to my home-what if I worked across the street from where I lived? What does it matter? Geico: -Is allowing me to take my car to the collision place of my choice-without any issue. They are putting a special exception for my car because it is a high value luxury automobile. I asked once and the response was "absolutely, let me just make a note of the exception". I did not have to beg or argue with anyone. -They are coming to my home to get their Geico estimate on my car with no issue. -They have already set up a rental car for me to pick up when I choose and they will see if they can get me car for car (in this case SUV to SUV). -The Geico rep was actually more caring and concerned about me, my car and my convenience than my own State Farm Agent was. Everyone in the office is also very knowledgeable on insurance so I don't have to think twice about working with them. I switched here for insurance after my State Farm Agent was very unhelpful after my car stolen. I worked with a couple people in the office on different things and they were all pleasant and helpful. They also were easy to get a hold of- no ignoring of emails etc, like I had in the past. I no longer have insurance here due to relocation, however I'd recommend for anyone in the area. read more

I also chose this place based on reviews, but that has not worked out well for me. Similar to other reviews, I've never submitted a claim, never had a ticket and excellent credit, and my rate has continued to go up by at least 10% each year, driving the same car. The only contact I've received from them is my rate going up, since I've never needed to file a claim, so I don't see the 'who cares about his clients aspect' that other customers have experienced. I will be finding another insurer, who doesn't increase rates for no reason. read more

Transferred insurance from State Farm Chicago to Seattle and rate has continued to go up. No accidents, no speeding ticket and excellent credit but not receiving any additional value. Even my State Farm rep in Chicago would send a Christmas Card thanking me for my business but nothing from this office. She would also check in to determine if the coverage is still adequate. Maybe the difference is I haven't had to file a claim and i can't see the value. When the flooding was caused by construction a new building i moved in, my Renters insurance wouldn't have helped. I have to call every year to inquire about the policy and ask a number of questions. I do not feel they are knowledgeable. I just discovered I could have had the policy for my condo in Chicago covered with an insurance agency here in Seattle instead of paying multiple outlets. They never offered or advised this was a possibility. Disappointed and chose this agent based on ratings here on Yelp. read more
