    Sesame and cherry donutzzzzz
    Sarina W.

I have been drooling over the food pics on Instagram for Rustica Canteen and finally got a chance to come here. This place is packed by 12:30pm so make sure you get in early! I drooled over their menu and debated fiercely in my head whether I should get the Nutella brioche for lunch or one of their sandwiches. I really wanted their brioche but their beef brisket sandwich is so hard to resist! Best decision ever! The beef brisket was tender and the super fresh greens in the sandwich perfectly matches and cuts the fattiness of the beef and cheese. The bread is of course delish. This also comes with a side of mustard potato salad which was amazing. The model-like beautiful creature in the table next to us didn't eat the potato salad and I almost grabbed it off the waitress when she collected it. I eyes on the pastry cabinet filled with interesting donuts, cronuts, eclairs and croissants and watched them disappear as we ate. Thankfully the cherry and black sesame donut I wanted was still there when we finished. The cherry Jam was surprisingly sour but it was fantastic with the sweet donut. The sesame paste was an interesting twist to the donut and all the friends I managed to share it with loved it. Breads are on sale too, and I was dying for the spiced fruit loaf but the last one got snapped up by some inconsiderate person (ok just kidding! Obviously he/she has fantastic taste, just like me!) so I had to settle for the pumpkin-pumpkin seed loaf. It was fantastic. Chewy on the outside and oh so soft on the inside. So why did I deduct points? Well, some of the seats in Rustica (which I happened to be in) wasn't very comfy. You kinda have to twist your body and sit sideways. That's my only little gripe. I have already make breakkie dates with some girlfriends to try their Nutella brioche.

Best avocado toast in all the land

If you are looking for this place don't be confused it's actually called Brick Lane (as far as I could tell it's the only signage I saw) but the food was delicious. Best avocado toast I've ever had. Pickled onions were a nice touch. Service was great and the hot cross bun was warm and delicious. A must have if you are in Melbourne.

Food is amazing especially Ispahan croissant which must try when you visit. However male staff are always rude and they never smile (female staff was nice though). Very disappointed for their services, you should get new ones with great hospitality.

Delicious! On a cold Melbourne morning - this was a great choice. Warm and inviting.. delicious hot chocolate.. I ordered the eggs benny with pulled pork and it was freakin' unbelievably good!!! Great service and some sneaky treats from their own bakery to take away and get you through to lunch..

I asked Pork Sandwich, The picture is beautiful and just it. It's not good for my taste, besides To be spicy.

Little Rogue speaks for itself. Honestly they don't need my review. All you need to do is look at…read morethe line out the door and down the alleyway from the time they open and you know they're doing coffee right. I had to try them with all the rave reviews, especially in my journey to find the best of the best of the Melbourne coffee scene. It's harder than it sounds considering any coffee in Melbourne is already pretty top tier in comparison to anywhere else. Little Rogue deserves the line out the door and rave reviews. Not only is it in the top of the top for coffee I've had in Melbourne...or anywhere...they're also just really cool people. Not a coffee snob in sight. Just down to earth smiles, friendly even at the crack of dawn, and happy to serve you some of the best coffee you'll ever have. Seriously. If Australia, or Melbourne, isn't on your bucket list, it needs to be if only to have the firsthand experience of the coffee everyone talks about. Like so many Melbourne hotspots, Little Rogue is unmarked. No signage. If you know you know type of place. You wouldn't know it's there except for the line out the door that gives them away. Just across the alley and up a few steps is a bakery that's also getting a pretty good rap. Make it a whole trip to start your morning right. You won't be disappointed. PS... If you're at any of the iconic coffee hotspots in Melbourne and you really love your espresso, ask for the (Melbourne) Magic. Just the 'Magic' for the locals. You're welcome.
