OK, I went back despite a few disappointing entrees in the past. First, the mixologists are always top notch in the area. A mean Old Fashioned and Manhattan always great. Rustic Table did not disappoint. Nice laid back but slightly upscale farm to table food. The staff is very friendly and the enclosed patio is also dog friendly with water bowls for your furry family member! One must get the fried beets - DELISH we also tried the fried chicken livers also DELISH! Perfectly fried to remain moist with a spicy ketchup. Their shrimp n grits are different but in a good way. Instead of a heavy cream sauce it's a loose lemon wine sauce that is rich and wonderful. Great atmosphere and super friendly staff. We enjoyed the shrimp and grits, and being from Charleston I've had my share, but they were excellent! Our table also had the blackened mahi salad, the blackened shrimp on the comeback salad, and fried chicken salad, and all were really tasty. They have a really good selection of craft beers and wine, and really good cocktails as well. You don't need an ocean view for this place, which is simply off Highway 17 in Pawleys Island, the food speaks for itself. read more

We really enjoyed our meals here, everyone did. We got the brisket nacho appetizer to start which had a generous portion of brisket atop. Wish I would have gotten a photo of it. They served a nice bread loaf with some cream cheese butter. And my wife and I had the crunch salad which had chicken fingers, spinach, egg, tomato, bacon, etc. in a nice honey mustard. Cozy restaurant in a quaint shopping village (be aware the stores all close early). Our table had a nice view of a pond with a fountain. Very nice. Server was great. Kept glasses full, made suggestions, etc. Food was outstanding. I had shrimp and grits, the restaurant's best seller. In a word, YUM. Lots of shrimp, fully shelle and deveined. Sausage was flavorful and not the least bit greasy or fatty. Husband had Mahi. I'm not a fish lover, but that was delicious. 7/28/22 This was our first time here after numerous recommendations from friends.. My honest opinion, probably wouldn't come back. Though, it was nice to try something different.. The service was okay... Our waitress made us feel rushed. We ordered the BBQ nachos as our appetizer and they were delicious!!! The pulled pork was very tender with a great Smokey flavor. For my dinner, I got the 'Hot' Chicken Biscuit which our waitress made it seem was horribly spicy and not something to order... Direct quote "I had it and hated it. It was horribly spicy" After that encounter, I decided to try it anyway.... It was NOT crazy spicy at all! It had a great kick and the sweet potato fries were fantastic!! - though, not something I'd get again... The other people in my party got the: steak salad, shrimp & grits, and fried chicken. The steak salad was said to be amazing as well as the fried chicken. Though the Lima beans were flavorless. As far as the shrimp & grits goes, they just were not good. This was our second time visiting and although the food was good, the waitress was a little clueless so there is a training issue there. I received the wrong cocktail but luckily the manager/owner corrected it before I even had to mention anything. Food was tasty and prices are good but I just am not sure if we would go back anytime soon. The menu doesn't change much and I like a little more variety. There weren't many seafood items unfortunately and when we visit the beach we do prefer to try lots of fish, etc. I did have the softshell crab appetizer special as my entree and it didn't disappoint. But I had never tried their burger even though I consistently see the rave reviews and the "best of" awards. Tonight I got the Grayman and it may have been the best burger I've ever had. Why a 4, not a 5 - Parking was sufficient, but a bit confusing access when traveling north on Rt 17; due median barrier preventing direct access, you must make a left prior to business location and take a couple streets to enter from the rear. Loved the experience here. We ordered fried beets as an appetizer. I love beets. These were battered and fried. Nice thick slices, hot, with an avocado sauce on the side. Both of us burdened blackened Mahi Over dirty grits. Perfectly spiced. The grits were outstanding, the sausage added a nice spicy note to the meal. There were chopped tomatoes in the mix as well as beans. Super combination of flavors. We ate outside with lots of fans providing COVID mitigation. We went to the Rustic Table last night (Saturday evening) for dinner. The food was good, over priced though. Our waiter Matt was excellent. However, while we were eating the hostess seated a young lady with a big dog at a table right next to us. Not a service dog. We did not appreciate having dinner with a dog seated right next to us. The young hostess even came over and played and petted with the dog. She then proceeded back to the hostess stand, never used any hand sanitizer, and started handling menus and seating others. As we were leaving I asked her if dogs, not even service dogs, were usually allowed in the restaurant and she replied yes we allow dogs. I then told her we would not be coming back again. read more

Just finished up a good lunch in Pawley's Island. The oyster poboy was good but I've had better. Everything was good but the tartar sauce was sweet (need to use Dukes mayo). Oysters were great. The fried green tomato side was thick crust and I prefer tender flaky crust. But, they were good. The side caesar salad I got had tomatoes and cucumbers with dressing on the side. Rather than waiting on a Table I decided to sit at the bar. Ordered the Proud Mary. One of the best bloody Mary's I've ever had! After checking out the menu settled on Adam's omelet. The food came out very quickly! Hot and delicious! The omelet was the perfect mesh of shrimp, spinach, eggs, and cheese. The potatoes were fantastic! They somehow turn a heavy meal like shrimp and grits into something that is feels light and fresh....highly recommend this dish along with the fried green tomatoes (we had as a starter to share).
