Parlor Doughnuts was a good doughnut shop. I'm not really a gourmet doughnut type of person, so I just got a single doughnut and a cup of coffee. Nevertheless, I enjoyed visiting the shop and looking at all of the different, unique-flavored creations that they had. Some of my favorites were "Bourbon Caramel" and "Maple Pecan," and they had a ton of other distinct options as well. In addition to the doughnuts, all of the staff members were extremely nice, and it was a nice place to sit down and sip my coffee for a few minutes. Spacious inside with plenty of parking lot parking out front. The staff was struggling to handle a busy drive-thru and lobby filled with with customers on a late summer Saturday morning. One issue in particular is exactly where one is supposed to stand to order???--- its kind of confusing. Several customers were skipped over even though they had arrived first, but they simply didn't know where to place their order. Several cashiers were jumping back and forth from the drive-thru to the lobby too, which made it feel chaotic. Lots of various donuts, breakfast sandwiches, coffees, etc. are available. The menu was larger than we expected. The donuts are terrific. They aren't super unique in their creativity or recipes, but they are crafted well and are brioche style, not cake like at all. Very light! They are a real treat and worth the cost. Doughnuts were incredible! I got the Maple Bacon one and it's was truly an example of flaky perfection. The dog doughnut was enjoyed greatly by my companion. Parlor Doughnuts. Where do I start!?!? To say that these doughnuts are amazing would be selling them short. I honestly don't think there are words to describe how good they are. Upon first glance they look like they would be extremely dense but once you take that first bite, they are light, fluffy and layer upon layer of goodness. Some people describe them to be similar to a cronut but these are in a league of their own. I love that they prepare them in small batches so you never have to worry about fomo when rushing in 20 mins before closing. lol They have a rather large dining area and also have a separate room that can accommodate groups. I love the simplicity of the decor and the old timey atmosphere. Do yourself a favor when visiting the Grand Strand and go get yourself a donut or two. They are more expensive than your basic donut and a half dozen will set you back about $23.00 but I would go here everyday for my donut fix over any other donut shop. read more

Woah, this place was amazing! Stopped by on our way to Brookgreen Gardens (which I also HIGHLY recommend if youre in the area or even close by). We got two doughnuts, a coffee and a chai, and a biscuit sandwich. The flavors of all the food were unique and well balanced. The biscuit sandwich had a fig butter on the sausage that was just amazing and not overly sweet. The doughnuts were soft and chewy, good both warm and later out of the fridge cold. Staff was super friendly and we got our coffees quickly. Tons of seating inside, chairs weren't super comfy and I can see it getting loud in there, but for just a pop in and out it was great. Also the amount of tables and dining area is surprisingly large. As far as the donuts themselves, the flavor creations the business has created are A plus. The presentation behind glass and in box will make your mouth water. My opinion of the taste is the toppings are the best part the body of donut is more like sweet bread. So glad we stopped on the way out of Myrtle. The donuts are so pretty and delicious. I couldn't decide what to get, but it was brunch time and I hadn't eaten yet. I got the bacon, egg, and cheese on the plain donut. The donuts have a flake consistency similar to a croissant. The sandwich came with a plain unsweetened donut so it was perfect. I couldn't leave without grabbing a few donuts to go. We opted for the chocolate, coconut, and banana cream pie. I also ordered an iced latte. The latte was really good! First, this bakery, according to my family, has absolutely delicious doughnuts. They looked delicious and were huge! The coffee and tea was also good. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was they didn't have any gluten free doughnuts made. As someone who has been gluten free for most of my life, seeing gluten free doughnuts on the menu was exciting! I have been excited about going here all week, but when we arrived, the employee informed me that they didn't have any gluten free or vegan doughnuts made. I was extremely disappointed as I sat with my family enjoying their doughnuts! They should put call ahead to see if gluten free and vegan doughnuts are available in their on line menu if it's not something they always have. We've been coming to this location on our summer break for the last 3 years and this summer we noticed quite a few problems we haven't experienced in the past. The efficiency seems to be a big problem and creates unnecessary lines and wait times. There was always only one barista working who would get extremely backed up while there are plenty of workers in the back standing around, which leads to issues like improperly steamed milk and incorrect orders at times. Two of the times we went an older lady was working the register and she seemed so confused about how to ring up items and kept getting lost on the screen and having to exit. Again, this created much longer wait times and a backed up line. I believe all of the employees are doing their best and I appreciate their work, but there needs to be more training as well as a second register and a second barista. read more

Doughnuts here are delicious. They're more like cro-nuts (croissant/doughnuts) but delightful anyway. Their process inside was a bit confusing - order by writing on a paper, then get in line in front of the glass. People were lining up at the cashier and ordering there, people were walking up to the glass without the paper, it was a bit confusing. Also went a second time through the drive thru, and I think I was presented with two different menus as I waited in line in my car. The first menu was older and didn't have the energizer drinks. I'll start by saying, I really don't like the product they sell. But I can recognize that it is a very high-quality product done very well. My family loves Parlor Doughnuts. We pick up a batch at least a few times every summer during our Pawley's visit. The maple-bacon is a perennial favorite. The bakery is beautifully decorated/designed and the service is amazing. These are not at all donuts. As a southerner, I would definitely classify this as a cronut. This place has gone seriously downhill. The last time I was there, the place was absolutely filthy. there was donut jelly all over the floor, the coffee bar had not been cleaned from the night before and I'm not convinced that the coffee wasn't still yesterday's coffee. We actually ended up throwing our coffee away and going to Starbucks. This also was first of the morning as soon as they opened so it was obvious the place had not been cleaned the night before or for several days based on the floor. We also were the only ones there and waited far too long to get service. Then someone walked in well past seven, put their stuff away and then served us but the customer service was severely lacking. This was radically different than our first experience two years ago but we will not be going back. if they can't keep the coffee bar & the floor clean I doubt the kitchen is much cleaner. read more

Overall, donuts are always delicious. The thing I love most is that if it isn't in the case, they will make it! That being said, I really like filled doughnuts and the loss of one star is due to the fact that most of theirs are not, and also because the coffee drinks are hit or miss at times. It was busy and I felt bad because they seemed stressed. All i ordered was a cold brew with caramel because i knew it wouldn't take them long to make it and I didn't want to cause them any more hassle. After we ordered I watched the barista make multiple coffee orders for people who had been waiting behind us and they all got theirs very quickly. Side note- I saw the barista use multiple different milks for different drinks in the steam pitchers and not once wipe the steam wand off at all which is definitely a health violation. We had quite the collection of flavors to satisfy everyone in our group and there was not a single dud. I loved the coconut cream filled donut with fresh cream on top. It had a lite coconut flavor in the custard. So good if you like coconut. Even the honey glazed was delicious. My son loved the carnival doughnut and ate a whole one by himself. We had seen advertising for this place, and decided on a whim to stop in and try it. We are so glad we did! Nice clean place. Service was quick on a Tuesday morning. The croissant like donuts were like something we have never had. I got the Bavarian cream, donut with chocolate icing and my husband got a honey, glazed doughnut. Very tasty and filling! It was worth the price. We would return on our next visit. We couldn't give a five star because we ate outside and the dining area is in despair.
