The reason I'm docking a star was because when I used this place to print my business cards, the card stock was not as strong and thick as I would have liked, but still way better then places (and cheaper) then places like Kinko's. Also, when I was having my business cards printed here, I accidentally forgot to feature my email address and although that's not their responsibility, it would have been a nice touch to have them look it over and say..."hey, maybe you wanted an email or phone # printed on here?" Anyway, most recently I used them to print out 4x6" post cards for an upcoming event and after calling them in the morning and getting them the print-ready files by 1PM, I was able to pick up 100 cards at $45. Double sided color, great stock and at 45 cents aipece, I was happy. The person on the other end of the phone was nice, responsible and seemed to know what she was talking about (I believe Michelle was her name, thanks Michelle!). The location downtown is conveniently located to many businesses as well. I'll be happy to give them more of my business down the line, but I still prefer to get my business cards printed online simply because I've found better card stock there. If you do start printing your cards in thicker quality, please let me know so that I can change my buying habits :)!

We already had the file, and just needed a good printing company to complete the cards. Greg was great. He responded the same day I initially sent an email (other shops didn't respond at all) and during a visit to the shop, was very helpful in helping us select the right paper and envelope, etc. The cards came out perfect and the staff was thoughtful enough to match the font on the envelope to that of the card, without me specifying. Barrett and his team are a joy to work with and were able to digitize my difficult artworks that include gold leaf paint and colour correct accurately for the glare. My original works are 5x7s and the 8x10s look great and the proofs of 11x14s as well. I was given some extra goodies as sample proofs. I also had note card sets made and amazing stickers with a foam core display. Barrett also customized the backs of my cards with a variation on my sticker designs that is super cool and took the time to brand my stickers with my business name. Buffalo Big Print will take the time to get it right and treat your art with respect. I'd recommend them to any artist looking for high quality ink jet prints of their artworks. Pickup is easy enough in their downtown location...a seemly looking building that's bustling with non-stop printing when you walk inside. I gave them a draft copy of a business card I designed myself and was told they could design a card very similar to mine. They had a little trouble with their computer software getting the circumference accurate on my circular logo, but eventually they worked it out. Also since they didn't have a brownish/black font color I wanted, we settled for making the font a bolder dark brown. They showed me the final business card design on their computer and it looked perfect. I gave them my approval to print the 500 cards. Being that I've done business before with Elmwood Print Out some years back and was very pleased with their work, I paid them in advance. BIG MISTAKE! When I got my business cards, the logo was oval and the typeset was too light and small to read without a magnifying glass. When I complained, they reminded me that I approved the draft shown on their computer. I, in turn, reminded them that they did a printout of what I saw on the computer and other than changing the typeset to a bolder font, it looked perfect. When I further complained that these cards are not the same as what was originally shown to me, the owner got belligerent and told me I'm being too picky and he's not going to reprint the cards because of some minor details. He told me that the circular logo wasn't that much off & that's the best they can do with the typeset in brown. He further had the audacity to tell me I'll just have to use up these 500 cards and he'll fix the logo and typeset when I place the next order. When I told him these cards are not acceptable, he stated "I'm not reprinting the cards and I'm not going to continue this conversation any further." He refused to deal with the matter any longer. It's obvious to me that Elmwood Print Out is contemptuous toward small independently-owned businesses who expect honorable work in exchange for their hard earned money. I can assure you, if I was a big company or large firm, he wouldn't be as condescending and inattentive to "minor details" and accuse me of being "too picky". In the future, I'll be taking my "little" business and spending my "little" money to more reputable transnational businesses. And I definitely wouldn't recommend Elmwood Printout to any of my colleagues or business acquaintances.
