3.5 years with this company & it has been this awful from the beginning. This is going on week 3 of them not coming & picking up but claiming they came. Many times a bear will come and tear through the trash and we are left with a mess to clean up & a company we are paying that does not do their job. Terrible service....I canceled 1/25/21 and hired another company....it is 5/8/21 and they still not picked up their cans, which in NY State is abandonment after 30 so if anyone needs these two cans, have at them.... read more

I do not recommend this company. Russo has missed a lot of pick ups. When I call to see if they are coming they say sorry for the delay ..we'll be out by tomorrow to pick up. Tomorrow doesn't come and I call them back ...they say their short on drivers ...will be out tomorrow . They are full of excuses. They NEVER show up! Great disappointment!! Tired of this.. moving on! Back in October 2018, we started service with Russo Sanitation. They had great prices and we wanted to support a local name/business. Within the first month, Russo missed a pickup. We let it slide. Figured they are a new company and still trying to get the hang of things. As the months went on, they continued to miss pickups. We have a family of 5, including 3 children, one of which is a toddler in pull ups. You can imagine the amounts of trash we accumulate over a one week's period. After about 4 months, Russo had only picked up 5-7 times. Each week that they didn't pick up, we got backed up and had to put some trash in our shed until the following week. This went on until February/March. I would call to discuss the bill, because we didn't feel it was fair to pay for a month's worth of pickups for them to only come once or twice a month. No answers, no call backs, no emails. Nothing! Radio Silence. The last straw was when they missed 5 weeks in a row. We did some research. I read reviews and comments on social media sites/groups. It became very clear very quickly that this company was not one that I wanted to support. It was an ongoing behavior that a great deal of people spoke out about. There are many complaints. We decided to transfer service to another company. I called, left voice mails, sent emails... all but sent a certified letter, which in hindsight I should've. No responses. When the new service started, we strategically stuffed our new cans week after week until all the accrued trash was finally gone. Except the trash in the old cans. I guess partly we may have forgotten but partly also knew that if they came for the cans, they would take the trash as well and bill us. We would've paid for that. Here it is August. The Russo cans have been next to my shed in plain sight since March. Patiently waiting for them to come get. I stopped emailing at some point. It seemed useless. I came home from work today and my husband is inside with the 2.5-year-old. He says, "Hey, did Russo take their cans? I saw them pull up and park but couldn't get out there."- I look out the door and sure enough, they took their cans... and dumped all the trash on my yard. Trash that has been sitting since February. Diapers, food... you name it. My husband and I had to pick it all up. It took us almost an hour, a box of trash bags and all our strength to not puke! I have never in my had any business treat us in this manner. To just come and spitefully throw our trash on the ground like a petty child. It's was beyond unacceptable. Beyond unprofessional. Beyond ANYTHING I have seen. My goal is to spread the word and to show the community how disgusting and horrible this business will treat you. It's a good thing that we have security cameras all around the house. They tried to avoid one but didn't notice that there was another one on the other shed. I called our local PD immediately. Unfortunately, it is a civil matter and I will need to contact the court. It's a shame that we even need to go through this. This type of behavior should never exist in a company. read more

I cancelled due to a large delay in garbage pick up. It's been a month since i cancelled and cans have still not been picked up. I've called multiple times, emailed, facebook mess, facebook commented and now i am resorting to this. Last contact and excuse was they cannot remove cans on the weekday. 2 weekends have passed. read more

Oh boy. Apparently the reason their pick up is delayed is due to the "socialist solution to unemployment." Absolutely zero communication. In December, I started needing trash pickup. I went with a different company who then transferred my account to Russo due to their lack of service in my area. After that, its been every other week and when they do pick up it's usually late. A few weeks back, they pulled up blocking my drive way on a Tuesday or Wednesday after no picking up the previous week's Thursday and someone got out of the truck and was walking down my yard/driveway to get my cans. I had to ask him what we was doing bc at first I didn't realize he had gotten out of this truck, I thought it was a random man on my property! scary! The man couldn't answer my question and the company can't answer any of my emails besides the first one telling me I should've let this strange man keep walking down my driveway when he couldn't even tell me what he was doing there and that the reason they are delayed is due to the "socialist solution to unemployment" - lmao okay way to be professional. I don't mind if you're late but COMMUNICATE!!!! Let me know!!! Since that day two weeks ago, I have called and left numerous messages and emails and have had NO response. I'll be disputing their charge for June/July with my credit card company as my cancellation request was put in a month ago. Extremely unprofessional and extremely disappointing. Pay more for better service with communication, trust me. These people aren't worth it. read more
