Short (2 miles), easy (wide and well-graded), hike with A-OK views.
It leaves from the Russian River Campground area.
It leads to sport and subsistence fishing spots.
It also leads to an overlook of roaring falls. Salmon can be seen jumping the falls or taking a...uh.."breather"(?) by the fish ladder.
We were setting up to fish and a Brown Bear came down from the forest, grabbed a dead furry thing out of the river, went up a hill, and started eating it while staring at us. So, we left.
3-stars because this trail ain't all that scenic if you don't see a bear.
Also because it is EXTREMELY crowded. We saw a single group of 20+ people.
How a trail that wasn't even listed on Yelp, and isn't near a major population center, is this crowded...I don't know. read more
