I stopped in to try out their ice cream with my grandson today. They had excellent service from the two people that were working. They were very nice and helpful. They had a wide variety of different ice cream. Of course they have a huge amount of candy which is their specialty. I chose one scoop cup for my grandson of vanilla and I had a two scoop cup with praline, pecan and butter pecan, and they were both good. Milk Chocolate Caramel Rabbit: Russell Stover (RS) has been going strong for over 100 years as the company was created in Denver, CO in 1923. Around this time of year, the company's major product is its famous chocolate marshmallow eggs. Marshmallow eggs are okay, but chocolate and caramel is even better. RS's Milk Chocolate Caramel Rabbit is available in 3oz and 7oz sizes. Even though this was my first time having it, I opted for the larger as it was 50% off. The biggest unknown for me was if the caramel filling would be distributed throughout the entire chocolate rabbit or just in the girthier body. Taking a big bite out of the ears, I was delighted to see that even the thinner head and ears contained caramel (just not as much). As far as the consistency of the filling goes, it's more liquid than solid and can be a little runny. The flavor of the milk chocolate and caramel filling is fine, but nothing to get too excited about. I still prefer a Cadbury Caramello, but for the price, RS is a good deal. Doughboy approved. To end our annual Thanksgiving trip to Kansas City, we stopped by Russell Stover Chocolates in Merriam to get our annual chocolate stash for co-workers, relatives, and ourselves. The staff was very sweet, while we were there. If we had a question they had an answer for it(they forgot to mention when i was checking out, I had earned a reward.I found that out through an email later that day.They are usually pretty good about letting me know on the spot- but with it bring the holidays the insanity gets the best of us). We ended up getting strawberry bon bons, sugar free cinnamon buttons,Truffle assortment, creme assortment, chocolate Christmas balls, individual truffles, multiple hot chocolate Santa bags, and finally a small bag of caramel apple taffy. We will be enjoying it over the holidays this season. Now if you would bring back the rootbeer barrels, this girl would be a happy camper. If you're not a chocolate snob, this is a GREAT place to get Russell Stover's chocolates at very reasonable prices. They have a lot of previous Holiday-packaged (Easter, Valentine's Day, Halloween, Christmas) candies that still taste completely fresh, at greatly reduced prices. Just head to the back half of the store for those, and be sure to try one of the individually-wrapped sea salt caramel chocolate hearts, eggs, or pumpkins at half price or better! On one side upfront are large boxes of Russell Stovers "bloopers" (imperfect) assorted chocolates, BOGO Free! And past the very disappointing ice cream counter, there's a huge selection of current, regularly priced, every-day-packaged chocolates and Jelly Bellies of every variety. I'd have given a 4-star rating if not for that ice cream bar. But I remember the days when I could go there and get big dips of fabulously fresh, delicious (I think Blue Bell) ice cream at a decent price. The ice cream in the barrels had been scraped down from the sides so much it was just icky gooey and unappetizing. And right next to those were fresh containers, but the employee refused to dip from those...said he couldn't as long as they had the "other stuff." And having gone in on a hot 4th of July specifically for the ice cream I remember, I would've left happy with a double dip cone. But NO!. Had I been in charge, I'd have happily dipped up the fresh stuff for anybody who came in, and had happy customers, and a much better review that would've drawn more people in! read more

I ordered some Easter Eggs online for a party, and the first box had tiny plastic pieces inside of each egg. We threw them away immediately. the next box had hardened interior of the eggs, so they couldn't be eaten. I immediately called Russell Stover to report the problem and request a refund. the representative asked me to mail the tiny plastic pieces back and she would send an envelope. I took the trash bag apart to search for the plastic. i found a few pieces so i waited for the envelope. It didnt arrive, so I call again. This time i was told to send back the ENTIRE ORDER. I WAS LIVID, SINCE MOST WERE THROWN OUT IN THE TRASH, AND THE TRASH SERVICE ALREADY PICKED IT UP.I was then told to send back what i still had. We ordered a box of milk chocolate mint dreams at Christmas. The exp. date was good but the filling was old and grainy, not edible. We gave them another chance and ordered several boxes of Easter cream- and marshmallow-filled eggs. The fillings were ALL either hard when they should be cream or a hard chew when it should be marshmallow. Easter was less than 2 months ago, not 2 years! We're not even going to ask for a refund because I've heard how they treat those requests. So we are done with Russell Stover. read more

Visited the store today. Sat at the drive thru for over 8 minutes without anyone taking my order. I called the store to see if the drive thru was open since it didn't have any signs indicating it was closed and it is business hours. The associate who answered the phone said it's not open today since they don't have keys. I went in the last time and it was boxes and boxes of Halloween and Christmas !?!? chocolates. However I weaseled my way to the baked counter. Roomie made it further to the ice cream section. They sell Blue Bell ice cream but it always taste refrozen to me. I usually go get chocolates but I was not going on a crusade against the mighty boxes this time. On May 29, 2018 I purchased three packages of Russell Stover Sugar Free Toffee Squares (each package: Net WT 3 OZ) at a local retailer. When I opened one of the packages, I recognized that one of the square's foil wrapping had been chewed open, and that most likely a mouse had "feasted" heartedly on the enclosed chocolate and toffee. (The outer package showed NO entry or damage; NO other toffee squares were opened and eaten.) I sent the rodent-damaged toffee square and an explanatory letter that contained my residence and email addresses to the customer service manager at Russell Stover corporate headquarters. Because I received no response from the customer service manager after three weeks, I initiated a telephone conversation with this person (current title: Customer Care Representative). On June 19, 2018, I was told by this representative that the damaged candy had been "sent to the laboratory in the Quality Assurance Department for investigation." Also, I was promised that I would receive a summary of the laboratory's investigation. A few days later, I received a letter apologizing for the infested candy from the representative, along with a gift certificate offering "up to $20.00 off on Russell Stover candy." (It turned out that after the gift certificate was scanned in conjunction with my Russell Stover purchase at a local retailer, I only received a $5.99 discount.) At this date, July 10, 2018, I have not received any communication concerning the laboratory investigation of the infested candy. Promise made, promise broken! P.S. We get ice cream sundaes every year on Valentine's Day, and this was our first time at Russel Stover's. Yes, they have ice cream, and sundaes, and they are delicious! Ordered some sugar free Easter candy from russellstover.com Most of it was fine but the main piece the bunny looks like old chocolate. Half of it is lighter which happens when it's OLD. I tried contacting them through the website with absolutely no response. We have bought alot of Russell stovers sugar free candy from the grocery store & it has all been fine. However you can not get sugar free Easter candy at grocery, Walmart etc. Considering the lack of response I have received from the online store I would never recommend them & I have purchased a sugar free bunny elsewhere. read more

The family loves this place. Whether it's the ice cream or one of their many candy treats, they always leave with something. Me not being one with the biggest sweet tooth, still has to get some of their dark chocolate miniatures. I like to keep my desk stocked up with them to grab one a day, as well as for others to grab when they stop in. Service has always been friendly and helpful each time we've stopped in. I ordered Russell Stover chocolates online the Friday before VDay. The package shipped Monday before VDay. Checked the tracking on Monday and delivery was scheduled for Wednesday,VDay. Checked tracking again on Tuesday and it said 'pending delivery' because of 'multiple shipping labels'. Called on Tuesday and spoke to Omarosa, or something like that, and she said she would check and e-mail me back. Never heard back from her. Called customer service again on Thursday and spoke to Kevin S. He soon e-mailed me back and reshipped. I received my order on the Saturday following VDay on Wednesday. Horrible experience there tonight! The manager was rude over my questions about purchasing a smaller size of their premium sundae. They sold me the traditional single scoop they have always sold, but did so grudgingly and charged $1 for each topping, getting right back to the premium sundae price for half the product.
