Everything is clean and seems well taken care of. The employee was very helpful, a little too much since he kept asking us if we had questions, but we were the only patrons in the store. Overall, it was a more unique shop then some of the stores you might shop in, but still commercialized. If you like candy though, its definitely worth a try. When my husband and I started planning a trip to Kansas City, I discovered that Christopher Elbow Chocolates is based here AND that they offer a Chocolate Experience where you can learn about chocolate, their process and the company. At $20 per person for about 50 minutes, it sounded like a fun addition to our day. Hands down, it was totally worth it! We went on a Thursday and happened to be the only two people booked for our experience, so it almost felt like our own private chocolate tour. We met the manager, who was incredibly friendly, and honestly everyone we interacted with was welcoming and helpful. During the experience, we got to try drinking chocolate, melted chocolate and a salted caramel chocolate treat--and every single one was incredible. The presentation itself was very thorough, with beautiful photos and examples throughout. We learned a lot about chocolate, their process and the company, and they took the time to answer all of our questions. If you love chocolate, the Chocolate Experience is absolutely worth adding to your Kansas City itinerary. You get to learn about chocolate, taste some delicious samples and then, of course, shop for chocolates afterward. We definitely didn't leave empty-handed! There were a lot of different fudge options, so I'm excited to go back and try a few other fudge pieces. One that comes to mind is the cookies and cream which looks to be made with a white chocolate fudge which I've never seen before.
