Visited this location while shopping in the Country Club Plaza area in KC. The prices are pretty high like any boutique candy shop but the variety is great!! It's sure not a place to stock up but you basically get what you are craving and go. You bag yourself a little of this and a little of that and pay at the counter. Tons of Gummy choices. I was really impressed when I saw all of my favorites from Japan

Place had precautions in place to keep things sanitary. Every customers is given disposable gloves and hand sanitizer upon entry. Employees and costumers must wear masks. Employees must sanitize doors/shelves often, as they did in the short time we were there. Employees were friendly. Candy was great! Super fresh! Lots of other cool things to look at besides their by the pound candy.

Always a fun stop for the kids when we're on the Plaza. Bulk candy is sold by the pound. Our kids love picking out their own treats. Lots of gummy candies are available in bulk. Ingredients are listed on the containers. The staff is friendly and does a good job making sure everyone is using the tongs to grab their candy choices. They even helped the kids weigh their bags. In addition to bulk candy they have lost a of novelty products, toys, stuffed animals, and other harder to find candy. Fun place to pick up a special gift for someone.

Alongside popular brands, they also have lesser known candy brands too. One section of the store also souvenir items like KC apparels, magnets, stickers, key chains and other accessories. Whole store is mostly clean and organized. The store has some fascinating items like Dragon made out of gummy beans, toilet bowls filled with chocolate boxes and a Harry Porter wizard status. Prices are decent for a tourist area location. There was one associate in the store helping customers with products and checkouts.

One of the first stops that caught my husband's eye was the Candy Wizard. We found a couple of things to bring home. Two hanging plaques(to celebrate the year we were born and the year we got married, as we celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary this year). We also found a couple of booklets for those same years. Next time, we may stop in and pick up pieces for the next set of years that mean something special to us. If you have a sweet tooth, you will be in heaven with this shop. There is plenty to choose from here. From candy sticks, the current favorites out there today. The staff was very sweet and attentive during our visit as well.

I love a lot of spots around the metro, but let's be honest, some of them get crazy busy and you end up waiting in line for a while. That's not a dealbreaker, but with a summer of social distancing, it's nice to have a spot like Annedore's that is tucked into the neighborhoods, has outdoor seating, and is never too busy. Their gelato is so good, and the service is friendly as it gets. We've made a tradition of walking up here as a family once a week, and together we've ordered or sampled: Cookies & Cream, Birthday Cake, Mint Chip, Chocolate Chip, Coconut, Strawberry, Berry Sorbet, Vanilla, and Lemon Basil. All are great (not crazy about the birthday cake one my kiddo always gets), the Berry Sorbet and Lemon Basil are standouts on a hot day. Their portions are generous, prices are very fair, the outdoor seating is great, and it's a very clean shop. Oh, and I recently discovered that macarons are delicious, and theirs are some of the best around. They're around $2.50 a pop and well worth it. I cannot recommend this place enough for gelato, macarons, and of course chocolate if that's your thing. Want to skip lines for ice cream (well, gelato) this summer and still support local? This is your spot. Bookmark it!
