We went to the register to pay for items that we were going to purchase, and the registers were not working. Couldn't get them to function so we just walked out and left the items on the counter. Sad that this place has slipped downhill. We usually made a large purchase whenever we went through on a visit to Cabela's across the road. Dundee Michigan. No initial greeting when we entered the store. Saw 4 employees in the store the day we were there, no one acknowledged our existence. While the parents are next door at the St.Julian wine tastings, Grandma can park the kiddies here(jk). Seriously, Grandma will be ticked to be stuck with kids jacked up on sugar and Mountain Dew( Ricky Bobby- Talladega reference). She may bring down martial law on them and that would be embarassing. The fact that we still have an outlet is a tribute to local sweet tooths. Covid took a lot of the Russell Stover outlets down. Not enough business without the soda fountain and fruit dipping. But this one survived. Back of the store is Ghosts of Holidays Past. Personally, i love getting old Valentine boxes and turning them into art projects or storage boxes. Cute for youngsters as a first jewelry box. Plus, you can eat the candy! Rest of the store has current seasonal offerings. Russell Stover also has candy by the pound, like Jelly Bellys and their own brand. Not as cheap as the legendary Pik n Mix that Brach made famous but still cool. So, if you are just passing by or on your way Cabela's, It's worth a stop. And it's fun! read more

We went here for the first time and it was clean, not busy and they had restrooms. It's right off the highway (next to the St Julian winery & distillery actually) with plenty of parking. We saw some people stopping for some ice cream (but we didn't get any) but maybe another time. They have some deals but note the Best By Date!! basically any item with a steep discount was past the Best By date (01Apr2024 or 01Jun2024). I know the chocolate might still taste fine BUT we were looking for a gift so definitely could not risk it. They have many items and it seems like this place COULD be good BEFORE a major holiday (Christmas, Valentine's, Easter etc). We opted for a large 10oz box of chocolate ($12.99) which is likely standard pricing. The store isn't labeled an Outlet so don't expect great prices (unless you're fine with either buying 4 boxes for the free box or eating chocolate past the best by date). I always enjoy stopping at this Russell Stover store. It's a great place to pick up Christmas stocking stuffers, Valentine candy or Halloween treats. Located just outside of Dundee by US 23 around a few hotels and other commercial establishments, it sports an attractive storefront. Inside you'll find oodles of candy to suit all tastes. The service is pretty good and the prices are in line with what you'd expect. We stop here a couple of times each year and find it well worth the effort. read more

Nice assortment of chocolates, caramels, ice cream, and soooooo much more. Right when we walked in the girl offered us a tasty free sample. They have a ton of deals. They also have incentives to spend money and get deals. I got some jordan almonds and malted milk balls. They were pretty good. They also have mix and match candy by the pound. We bought a pound of peanut butter cups, millionaires, and billionaires. So yummy! Towards the back they have ice cream, fudge, and other sweet treats. It was displayed neatly in the case, and so tempting to order a lot. They also have a bloopers section where you can buy a lot of candy for really cheap if you dont mind the asethitics being a little off. If you are looking for chocolate, this is the place!! With boxes upon boxes of chocolates and hand scooped ice cream you are sure to satisfy a sweet tooth. Since we were in the area, we thought we'd check it out. It was too hot to buy any chocolates without it melting in the car. But we took a look around and tried a sample that an employee handed to us. The prices seemed good. Many of the boxes were buy 2 get one free. There were really large boxes and smaller versions. There was even a box priced at $50 - check out my photo. I wouldn't mind hitting this place again on a cooler day or a day when I'm heading straight home. read more

Great customer service - needed to get some chocolate bunnies before Easter but we were under the covid stay at home order. I was not sure if they would be open so I called. They said that the store was not open but I could order online and do curbside pickup. I placed my order and got a call less than an hour later as they were out of something I wrote in the comments section. My order was completed and I dropped by to get the order. I like that they have a section of "oops" options at a discount. I love that as a company, they aren't just discarding things for being imperfect. Any chocolate I have purchased was great! That being said, my local location really is lack-luster. The employees look miserable, almost dead inside. They have an ice cream bar and specialty items section (think chocolate covered items, fudge, etc.) Last time we were there specifically for ice cream and chocolate covered strawberries. We could not get an employee to help us though. It took ages. Once we finally did, the ice cream was honestly not good. It was also incredibly expensive. I never had a chance to buy the strawberries. Once the woman helping us got the ice cream she went to talking to her coworker and ignoring our existence so we just left. read more

The prices for candy is fair but often you can get those prices at local stores on sale. The ice cream is always good, Usually the staff is pretty friendly but the manager there today and the woman behind the counter were slightly rude. This store is not worth the visit. Their prices are sky high on some items, like bulk Jelly Belly's. I have found prices way lower elsewhere. When I walked in the other day, they looked like they were preparing for a closing sale, half of the shelves were empty. There were no other customers in the building. I would not be surprised if they were to close their doors soon. read more

So this is a weird one for me. I kind of want to give it four stars but .... the only thing that holds me back is that they remind me more of a chocolate outlet. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. The good: When you walk in you see that it's very clean. There is a "make your own collection" area right there. And the prices work out to be around .75 per piece. But it works for people who want to make their own box. There's an ice cream area to the far left. Haven't had the ice cream yet. But it looks good. There are a number of items that are discounted. Which is VERY good. The meh: It's organized oddly. We have found ourselves sort of wandering around. The management or the higher management needs a better floor plan. And the lighting, while .... bright..... is Very bright against the very White decor. It would be nice to walk in and have a more indulgent feel. It has a sort of sterile feel. That might work for some, but when I think of chocolate, I think of indulgence and something lush. Not sterile. Will def be back. read more

When I have a sweet tooth, I head to Russell Stover's in Dundee, MI. They have it all! You can get just about any kind of candy there. The even have the BEST fudge & Ice Cream! Oh their Butter Pecan is so good. They also have a card you sign up for & they keep a total of what you spend. At different spending points, you receive free merchandise or a percentage off! Beware of the 'bloopers' 3lb box of candy for $12.99. Most of the candy looks as if they swept it off the factory floor, it's smash, hard as a rock, some chocolate is white-ish old? and most are melted and stuck together. Yuck :-( Just to make a buck really? this stuff should have been tossed! When I took it back inside and asked for a refund and they looked at me as if I had two heads. All the boxes they have for sale expired in two months from when i was there not very fresh I'd say. The people there aren't very customer service oriented, every time I go in there it's as if I'm bothering them. very weird place. read more

The "deals" were not as good as the first time went in April 2016. I can actually get the same chocolates cheaper at WalGreens. I was overcharged on the 5/$5 specials (again they are $1 at WalGreens so why they are $1.49 at the outlet I have no idea), I bought 5 and only 1 was $1 the rest were $1.49. Definitely a tourist trap but if you like to be able to buy a box of just nuts, or creams, or caramels instead of the normal mixed, "surprise" chocolates then this is your place. Good evening me and a friend took a trip out of town just for a short ride. As we were going through Michigan she suggested we stop at the Russell Stover's chocolates store. And so I was like oh my God I haven't had that since I was a child.So we went in and looked around she got several different chocolates I got a couple of different chocolates and then I got ice cream. I got black cherry vanilla ice cream on a waffle cone. It was the best ice cream and the Freshes waffle cone I've ever had. It was fresh cherries and the waffle cone was crispy all away to the end. The workers there were so friendly that they helped us with everything. I have never been there before and I would definitely go back. I just wanted to post this so, if it could help anyone who would love to get some chocolates this is definitely the place to go because they'll sell you everything in that store with a smile. There were two gentlemen and a young lady working in the store and, they were so wonderful. I like to thank them very much for making us feel so very special and at home. read more

I love this place but the last two times I went there the staff seemed to be "forcing" their friendliness. The woman at the ice cream counter couldn't be bothered to get me the candy apple I wanted.
