Precision's work is just that: incredible attention to detail, fast turnaround, great service; they match spot colors perfectly, and can handle the tightest registration. These guys can do work as good as a great craft printers on a hand-crank Vandercook or platen press - they're that good! I have them print wedding invitations and similar items for clients, and they've NEVER let me down. The price is always far less than I'd pay taking the job to a fine printer in the Bay Area, the quality just as good, and the turnaround faster. And they're just really nice folks, too. Definitely the most underrated fine print shop in the Sacramento area. It's unfortunate that there's not more demand for good letterpress work, because they are absolutely capable of delivering.

She has always printed them using a special digital process in small quantities due to the small volume and to preserve color accuracy. When the volume got to be overwhelming we started looking at offset printing as an option. We approached several printers in town, and looked at online options as well. Though the price was appealing, our challenge with trying to work online was the color - you just can't proof color accuracy online. Our order was on the small side for full color printing, many of the print shops we called or emailed never bothered to respond to our inquiries. John at Capital Graphics treated us like a customer (anyone remember what that feels like?). He gave us a color proof on each card - the final product matched the proof perfectly. The cards looked awesome and turn around was super fast (we didn't even ask for a rush). The most surprising part to us, was that the pricing was comparable to many of the online vendors we looked at using.

We didn't receive a response about our concerns until going back to the shop in-person. They disagreed that the image was pixelated (attached here) and if it was, it was because of the original image (it was not the issue). They printed it again without issue, but there was no acknowledgement that the original print quality was unacceptable and it was because of their error. - the turnaround time was very quick - we were able to get a quote within hours and received our original order the next day and the re-print within two days. - value was good/fair, especially compared to other alternatives. Overall, we wouldn't use them again for something sentimental or where pixelation would be important (ex. wedding-related, holiday cards, etc.) but would maybe use them for something with a pretty designs (ex. poster, maybe?).
