Traveling cross country in my 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid, my tire pressure warning light came on while passing through Wall, South Dakota. I have many miles more to go for my return trip to my home in San Diego, California so I stopped in Rapid City, South Dakota and showed up early the next morning at the Service Department of Denny Menholt Rushmore Honda. I was there 10 minutes before opening time. As soon as the service department opened at 7:30 AM, they took care of me. They had the problem corrected within 15 minutes. There was no waiting, no charge, and the service department representative had a friendly attitude so early in the morning. The service department of Denny Menholt Rushmore Honda was simply outstanding! This is the first Honda I have owned after years of driving Toyotas. After a bad experience trying to buy a new Toyota in 2023, I switched to Honda and bought my vehicle in San Diego. They were so friendly and helpful. On a recent trip to Wisconsin, I visited a Honda dealership for maintenance and they were efficient and friendly. Now I have received outstanding service in Rapid City, South Dakota. Looks like I am going to be a Honda customer for the rest of my life! read more

If you finance a vehicle here and do all the closing paperwork, including them taking ownership over your current car, be prepared to likely be contacted months afterwards because they'll say you still owe them $100-$200 or more. What happens is the total pay off quote from the initial title holder was actually higher and they want you to make up the difference. Even though legally it is their responsibility after all the paperwork was done. I regret coming to this Honda because I still have to deal with this eventually. What a horrible thing to have to carry this apprehension and bad car buying experience, when you've already made this huge financial decision, putting down thousands of dollars, negotiation after negotiation (for weeks) with their ugly smiley glad hand tactics per usual. Anyone who signs a deal with you and then later comes back saying you still owe them money is as shady an entity can get. read more

While traveling, my car showed that it needed an oil change and tire rotation. This dealership was not the closest to where we were, but was the first dealership that was able to take care of the car's needs. The service advisor and the cashier were friendly and helpful. I needed an emergency replacement of the blower motor during 95 degree weather - as an interstate traveler with a dog. I had called ahead from Wall to let them know I was coming and what I was experiencing. They got me in right away. They were dog friendly so I could bring fido into the waiting room. The part was replaced and car ready to go in an hour!!!! I was elated! We had time to eat our lunches and it was like an air conditioned rest stop. We were traveling back to Mn from Steamboat Springs when we experienced issues with our 2016 Acura MDX downshifting coming into New Castle Wy. We contacted Rushmore Honda who provided a tow company if we were not able to make it to Rapid City. Upon arrival, Zack was awesome & greeted us cheerfully after a stressful drive in. I was surprised by the service here today. I have a newer accord hybrid and they knew absolutely nothing about the vehicle. They offered to change random fluids the vehicle doesn't even have and said the car's built-in computer algorithm based Honda maintenance minder system shouldn't be trusted. I feel really uneasy about having my car serviced at a location that knows so little about it and is so willing to make things up. read more

Our car wouldn't start half of the time on a cross country road trip so we took it in to Rushmore Honda. They were super helpful with figuring out what was wrong and trying to see if the part that had previously been fixed and was now not working again was still under warranty. They also had a courtesy driver take us into to town while they fixed the car which was nice since we were just there for the day. Everyone there was really nice. We had gotten a flat on the way between Bismark and Rushmore on our vacation loop from California. It turned out we needed a new wheel - very hard to come by on short notice! As we made our way to Rapid City on a donut and a prayer, Joe at Rushmore Honda did his best to help us out. Between the multiple dropped calls (Joe kept calling us back!) and the hoops of getting a wheel, I'm happy to say these guys stuck it out for us. Let me first start off by saying they fixed our car properly. But we were on vacation and had to make three 60 mile trips to get the car fixed. The first trip was to tell us they couldn't fit us in. The second trip was to diagnose the problem in 5 minutes and to tell us they couldn't fix it until 2 to 3 days later. Then on the day we got it fixed we dropped the car off in the morning we walked back late afternoon to the shop from downtown to find the work on the car was completed but no one had bothered to tell us. We found the people in Rapid City to be rude to vacationers and the service we received at Rushmore Honda was just one of the many inconsiderate experiences that we had. Thanks for fixing our car but maybe work on the customer service. Your courtesy drivers were extremely friendly so maybe talk to them about customer service. read more

When they sell their vehicles, Then no one will help you in the future.. They don't do as much as they say before This is their business of cheating I bought Honda accord hybrid 2019 one year ago from there, With 4/5 months from of purchase, this car started to have a lot of problems.. I told them about it many times.. Then I made many requests to return or change or trad in I heard that if there is a problem with the new vehicle they will fix it It also has a warranty guarantee like that. But they kept pushing it. Last July 30th 2020 I went there for service even I said everything.. But they told me that it would cost me a lot So my car is new I think for a while I should get free service for some year, Instead of helping me, they tried to deceive me like oil chenge, Regular checkups etc Which is already available in the new vehicle.. I am very disappointed by their behavior. I don't speak English well, At that time buy car I also took the help of a friend I wondered if there was discrimination on the basis of caste and language.. I don't think that's a good thing... I will not Recommend any of my relatives and friends to visit This place.. This dealership has my business! Because of these two poor reviews, I called the GM, Mr.Nicholson, to talk about their validity. Not only did he promptly return my call (already a good sign), but also he directed me to other independent sites to see more positive reviews, after which I made an appointment. I was greeted in a prompt and friendly manner by Bethany, who not only explained my service but also, at my request, had the service technicians look at other areas on my car that I thought might have an issue. Next, the parts manager, whose name I neglected to ask (sorry), took time answering questions in an attempt to solve a very minor problem I was having with my other Honda. She was also very helpful. Finally, Tad and and Jacob, the sales reps, spent the next 45 minutes, while my car was being serviced, comparing the detailed differences of the Honda Pilot in which I am interested. Their precise knowledge of this vehicle as well as the other Pilot models has convinced me that, rather than buying this car elsewhere, I will be buying my next Honda from them. Walk-ins are welcome but make an appointment for service so that you are seen promptly. By the way, the waiting room is both comfortable and offers brewed coffee. The two negative reviews you see on Yelp of this business are undeserved. read more

I bought a new 2017 CRV in Oct '17(my 1st brand new car) & I have had nothing but problems with it. The worst was in April of '19(I was 9months pregnant) my car glitched(shut down) for a few seconds on the highway. Scared the crap out of me! Took it straight to the dealership with all the warnings still on the dash. They took it for the day & couldn't figure out why it did it. Told me to bring it back right away if it did it again. Of course about 2 weeks later it did it again but it was after hours. Shut off the car & turned back on & all the warning messages were gone.Took it in the next morning & they couldn't get the car to do it again so they couldn't figure out why it was doing it. Told me the same thing. Meanwhile I had my baby so I didn't drive it much but hasn't happened since. But other stuff has. I do not trust this car at all! The guy in the service department, Zac, that has been helping me has been nothing but nice. I had another guy there tell me I should "expect" this from a new car. Yes I did call in to Honda corporate & they told me they won't do anything for me because "everything that has gone wrong with my car has been fixed" TO ALL CONSUMERS I do not recommend getting a new Honda unless you want to know the service department very well. read more

I had a wonderful experience at the local Rushmore Honda in Rapid City SD. I already knew which car I wanted to look at, they made an appointment and already had it pulled up front for me. The salesman was very knowledgeable and accommodating. They allowed us to take it to a third party mechanic who said it checked out as dealership already made sure it was a safe and reliable vehicle. The financial officer worked to get me the best deal and the extended warranty to fit into my budget. Definitely recommend, very trustworthy and friendly! read more

We were on a cross-country road trip when pieces of our windshield trim started to come loose due to poor installation by Safelite. The folks at the Rushmore Honda body shop were able to quickly fit us into their schedule and repaired the problem for a reasonable price. While we were in the area, we hopped across town for an oil change at the dealership. Again, the folks at Rushmore went out of their way to accommodate our schedule. The service was quick, the price was good, and the employees were friendly. While our van was in their care, they noticed that an interior bulb was burnt out, and that our wiper blade inserts were in bad shape. They replaced these items for us, and there were many times throughout the rest of our travels when I was thankful for the fresh wiper blades! read more
