A dealer in Wyoming took it apart because of valve train noise, but found nothing wrong. Dakota V-Twin put it back together for us, fixed the noise it was originally torn down to find, and charged us one third of the dealer's quote even though their tech worked on it until 9:30 on Sunday night to finish it so my wife could ride the Black Hills! This kind of service and dedication are unheard of! I can't speak highly enough of Dakota V-Twin, and highly recommend them to anyone who needs parts, service, or repairs. By the time I arrived, all…read morethe bolts in my air cleaner had rattled loose--hey, it's a Harley--and I'd stripped the last one trying to do a field repair. Happened to be staying at motel next to Cody's shop so went over: fifteen minutes and $20 later, I was on the road. Pulling away from the motel one morning to head to Deadwood, I noticed gas dripping from a fuel line onto my cooling fins. Could have been a massive flame-out but I caught it right as we were pulling away because the smell of the gasoline was so strong. Went back to Cody's: half an hour and $20 later, I was on the road. This time, Cody didn't have the fuel line in stock, so he modified an o-ring to fit in the line, replacing the one that had disintegrated (damned ethanol fuels!), and stopped the leak, letting me get to Blackhills HD the next day. Notice a trend? This guy's fast, fair and inexpensive. And an excellent mechanic. In Cali, ALL service and repairs quotes I've ever gotten start with "$100 plus parts." I wish Backlash were in Cali because Cody would definitely be my mechanic.
