I walked around the lake and bumped into the tamest, fattest suirrels ever! I wish I'd had my camera - (my sister will now tell me off for not having it!) When you consider how close it is to main roads and a built up area, it is remarkably peaceful and tranquil. You could actually walk a fair few miles as it is also close to Wollaton Park. When I spoke to my son later that evening, he remembered going on the boating lake when he was very young. He's coming back home for a bit soon - maybe he'll take me! xx

The exhibits focus on Robin Hood, the rebellion of Nottingham's townsfolk, and the struggles they faced under oppression in medieval times. It's incredibly informative and gives fascinating insight into the city's past. One of the most striking parts of the story is how rebels burned the castle down from the inside in 1831, and it was never rebuilt in its original form. Instead, the city transformed it into a museum, which makes it a unique blend of history and culture. Be sure to bring plenty of time--you can easily spend three hours exploring everything. There's also a lovely café and a terrace where you can sit and enjoy the views. Absolutely worth a visit when in Nottingham!

There are some nice rides for the little ones, it's gated to keep out any dogs, and in the rugby park there's a great area for older kids. It's such a cool idea to have play equipment for young adults (and old adults), I'm rubbish on most of them, but I try to hang on whilst my friends spin me around. They have a couple of tennis courts, which are very reasonable (pay and play) but they have the same problem as many parks - vandals and dog owners who don't pick up after their pooches, which is a big shame.

Colwick park is a great example of just how quickly you can get from the hustle and bustle of…read moremodern day suburbia, or even inner city living, to some open space and fresh air in beautiful surroundings. The country park is divided into several lakes and also extends far enough to run alongside the River Trent at one of it's boundaries. Intertwined between the water are some well maintained walkways that are gravelled and make walking around the park suitable for many different abilities and ages. There is also a small amount of woodland and walking through this way will bring you out on the other side of the park where the Nottingham Racecourse is found. Parking at Colwick Park is relatively good with a few different areas being made available around the park. One can be accessed directly from Mile End Road, while another is found off the main road and a final one is found by going past the main entrance to the racecourse and following the road round to Colwick Hall entrance. With access completely free to the park it is a great way to enjoy a brisk winters walk or somewhere nice to take the dog for a run.

Situated inside the school, it has a swimming pool with flumes, gym, and many different classes, from Salsa to Trampolining. They run many activities for children, and have a full school holiday programme.They also have a cage which sells reasonably priced drinks and snacks. The pool can get a little busy, especially at weekends, and changing room space can be a problem, also, the pool isnt great for swimming lengths, as its a funny shape.

There are lots of car park spaces.
