There are some nice rides for the little ones, it's gated to keep out any dogs, and in the rugby park there's a great area for older kids. It's such a cool idea to have play equipment for young adults (and old adults), I'm rubbish on most of them, but I try to hang on whilst my friends spin me around. They have a couple of tennis courts, which are very reasonable (pay and play) but they have the same problem as many parks - vandals and dog owners who don't pick up after their pooches, which is a big shame.

I walked around the lake and bumped into the tamest, fattest suirrels ever! I wish I'd had my camera - (my sister will now tell me off for not having it!) When you consider how close it is to main roads and a built up area, it is remarkably peaceful and tranquil. You could actually walk a fair few miles as it is also close to Wollaton Park. When I spoke to my son later that evening, he remembered going on the boating lake when he was very young. He's coming back home for a bit soon - maybe he'll take me! xx

Great for kids like me to play and paddle in. The stream is apparently Tennysons Babbling Brook. Walk along the stream path or climb and walk the top path above the trees. I fell down here age 13. I looked like Steven Boyd after the chariot race in Ben Hur..grabbed for a root to stop my slide and rolled to the bottom. It is VERY high and a long way down. Park in the farm field..full of wild rabbits. Have a tea or ice cream in the cafe. There is a brick built loo block. Many a happy day spent here.

You pay for parking as you enter the grounds which is usually £1.50 for all day so very reasonable. As you leave the car park to enter the grounds there is usually an ice cream van! Always a bonus!
