I don't think the smoothie bowls here are healthy given that many of them use fruit juice and froyo as the base, but they sure are delicious! The staff has always been very friendly. Once or twice they've been understaffed and I've had to wait 30+ minutes for my order. I hope they sort that out, because there isn't much seating nearby so I wandered around downtown for a long time to wait for my food. so so sad to be giving this location 3 stars. i used to get rush bowls EVERY SINGLE DAY, whether it be from this location or the oakland one. not sure if they hired new people or if their workers stopped caring, but every time I order a bowl here, it's wrong. I get double almond butter + strawberries every time -- I've been getting a tiny teaspoon (not exaggerating) of almond butter + a mountain load of strawberries (can't even close the lid). OR the almond butter has been beyond salty. Like inedible, someone accidentally dropped a salt bucket in there & said oh well. I am a loyal customer & this location is much closer to me. I really hope they resolve these issues because I can't be going to Oakland everyday but that location has never disappointed me. read more

There are so many options! I got the berry bowl and a dragon fruit bowl. They were both delicious! I particularly thought the granola they use is a nice cruncy. I've been to some places where the granola is more chewy and I definitely prefer the crunch. I think the portion is a decent size and fair price. It would make a great breakfast or light lunch. There aren't very many one of a kind bowl places in the bay in my opinion so it's exciting to see a place like this open. My two favorite things about this place are 1. the wide variety of bowl flavors available - they even have a Bark Bowl with a milkbone on top for "your best friend" 2. the offer free samples - I tried the Beach Bowl which seems a safety/classic, but it's pretty basic and I wanted to go for something I might not find anywhere else I tried the Chai Bowl and the Dragon Bowl. Chai Bowl - the consistency was insanely smooth and gooey which I found very interesting. It is blended with honey so I thought maybe that's why. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, just unexpected and interesting to me. It was definitely Chai and had a cinnamon taste to it. Very unique to me as I've never heard of a chai flavored bowl before. Definitely would recommend to any chai lover ;) Dragon Bowl - didn't taste bad but I thought it was a little bland/watered down. I saw another review from someone who thought it was too sweet, so I wonder if my bowl seemed watery only because of who made it... I like the nice twist of chocolate drizzle on top, but I wish there were some fruits or something included too )-: A little boring with just granola and chocolate drizzle. Very unsatisfied with the quality at this location on two separate occasions -- today and once over a year ago. I ordered the Super Protein Smoothie today, and the smoothie was not blended well at all -- I was chewing on ice, leaves (kale and spinach), banana, and strawberry thoughout the whole drink, and did not appreciate that at all. The flavor was also different from the Rush location in Oakland -- very bland, strangely, and no chocolate flavor whatsoever. The location in Oakland is amazing, and I've gotten this same smoothie twice along with the Green RX, and both were blended so smooth and tasted delicious! I live in Berkeley but unfortunately I won't be returning to this location due to very poor quality. God, I'm so frustrated with this Rush Bowls location. I just placed an order online through their app for an ASAP pick up, and the location is closed when I get here. They had a handwritten note taped under their "Sorry, We're Closed" that said they closed early at 11am due to staffing issues. Why was the store still bookable in-app at 12:58pm? How do I go about getting a refund, besides filing a chargeback with my bank? There isn't a support link and this store has been closed 100% of the times I've tried to come here. It's infuriating. Why three stars? Because these smoothies are dank as f*** and I drive all the way to the Oakland location for them. So I was hype when this store opened a half a mile from my home. Solid place for post-gym replenishment! My husband and I both workout nearby at separate gyms/studios and have dropped by Rush Bowls several times post-workout for smoothies and bowls. The variety of options is really impressive and I love that I can sub out ingredients when a menu item sounds *almost* perfect. If you're not a fan of acai, there are so many other smoothie bowls without it. Minor gripes: I hope they launch their rewards platform soon as it's been a few months and I've lost out on a few opportunities for points already. It is not often that I give a five star review to a place. But I used to go to Rush Bowls in downtown Berkeley back in 2019, and when I returned recently they were just as excellent as before and super friendly. In this day and age of lousy or no customer service, this place stands out. They actually care about you and found an old 2019 menu so I could find the bowl I used to order. It was called the "Peach Cobbler," and was just as excellent as before. The owner and staff were so nice to me. Wish there were more places as friendly and helpful as this. read more

The walls were splattered with old smoothie residue and garbage cans were gross. They honestly need to step their game up as far as cleanliness goes. Their açaí bowls are very good but the service and infrastructure are lacking. Açaí bowls are not too watery and it is filling. They add plenty of toppings and top it off with honey. I love getting their bowls after a run. The rest of the store however is lacking. Their rewards program is all on a sheet of paper that we just stopped telling them about it. We asked for a gift card since they were offering a free bowl with purchase, and they just told us to write our name on a sheet of paper. Hopefully we do get the whole gift card amount. Their service is also quite slow as they only have one or two people inside taking orders and making the bowls. It's so hard to find a place in the Bay Area with not only good quality bowls, but one with an immense variety of options - super glad I was able to find this through Rush Bowls! I'm honestly quite surprised I haven't heard more about this place, because I was really impressed by my bowl here. I ordered the Chai Mystique bowl (largely due to the description containing all my favorite buzz words including "chai", "honey", and "banana"), and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The texture was smooth and creamy, and wasn't water-y or soup-y at all. For being a bowl that's on the sweeter side, I wasn't overwhelmed by the cinnamon and honey flavors (which could have been easily overdone). The granola on top was DELICIOUS. Hands down some of the best bowl granola I've had. By looking at the bowl initially, I was wary that it wouldn't be filling but I was struggling to finish it by the end of the meal - definitely filling and worth every penny (and the bowls aren't that overpriced!) As of Monday, December 17, there are 3 deals going on: 10% student discount + free fruit toppings* + $6 HH bowls** *Fresh fruit toppings limited to bananas, blueberries + strawberries (normally +$1 per topping so I thought this was a pretty good deal) **5-7pm It's funny because I think I came here during a rush. It was around 12:50pm and there were at least 5 people ordering or waiting for their orders. This place is small (max capacity probably ~10), so it doesn't take much to fill up the place. Other than that, what was most noticeable to me was that there was a bit of a mix-up with order pick-up. When people went to pick up their orders, it wasn't what they ordered. This was concerning because it already took time to prepare them. And many of them were high school students, so they also had limited time during lunch before they had to return back to class. I think this elevated the stress levels of the employees (2 of them working at the time), especially when one of the customers requested a refund when her order was almost prepared. The order confusion and unsatisfied customer made me skeptical about placing an order at first. But I decided to give them a try. And this is what I ordered. BEACH BOWL ($8.95). Classified as a "favorite", it is a blend of acai, banana, mango, guava juice topped with organic granola and honey. I added blueberries + strawberries free of charge. I took it home so that affected the texture of the blended acai. It was a bit softer than I am used to but I prefer it that way rather than icy. I was a fan of the extra fruit and granola because it added more to the overall texture. As for my experience, it took ~10minutes to order and receive my bowl, which wasn't terribly long but I don't think I would visit during busy hours again. There was just more disorganization and miscommunication than I would like to see when it involves my hard-earned money. I think they should also implement order numbers for customers so the right order goes to the right customer. So that when a "rush" happens, the probability of a mix-up would occur less often (ideal would be no mix-up at all imo). Hope business practices improve during a later visit! read more

TL;DR: delicious acai/smoothie bowls, pricey, no fruit topping included I had to try out rush bowls because there are not many good acai bowl places near campus. My friend and I happened to be nearby because we had just visited the downtown berkeley farmer's market. The bowl is larger than most places I've had smoothie bowls at; we split one and were satisfied for a while. Dragon Bowl ($8.25): Pitaya bowl-comes with granola. We added coconut for $1. The base was delicious-it had the right amount of sweetness, and the consistency was perfect. They use my favorite granola, too! The smoothie base and granola does not justify the high price. Fruit toppings should not cost extra-this is the first place I have seen that does this. Back home, this one place charges a flat rate of $8 and you get whatever toppings/fruit you want. Another problem I had is that they blend many of their bowls with yogurt and juices-this adds more calories/sugars. Juices are especially bad-none of the fiber from the fruit is retained. I prefer smoothie bowls blended with cashew milk, coconut water, almond milk, etc. Service was friendly and the bowls are made to order, so they are fresh! Not much seating inside, though. read more

Well-priced and really yummy bowls near University Ave! I wish these were closer to campus - I'd go so often. My roomate and I both got the "beach bowl" and you can top off the bowl with free toppings - I got blueberries and she got strawberries. The granola and the pitaya are amazing, not super sweet or sugar dense, but very crunchy and refreshing. I got mines without honey because I'm not a fan, and my roomate got hers with honey- but she wishes they had drizzled more. The quantity of the bowls is also very solid, esp for the $9 price.
