THIS IS OUR EXPERIENCE WITH THE NOKE'S HANDYMAN: The Noke's…read moreHandyman, Mark Hodges, and his partner, Chris Delonzo, contracted with us to do several jobs around our house for a total of $8,950, for which they requested a 50% deposit; so, we gave them a check from our Equity Line Account for $4,475 dated 1/21/21. They were contracted to start work on 2/16/21. They removed debris from behind our garage on the 16th and made arrangements to meet at Home Depot to have us purchase materials for continuing the job but then called with excuses due to weather; so, the material buying moved to 2/23/21. They worked for 4 hours on 2/24/21 putting down an additional layer of subflooring in our mudroom. They also started an electrical outlet receptacle in the bathroom and completed1/3 of the flooring in our mudroom the following day. Since that date we have been contacted with more excuses and later dates to come and continue working. Culminating in phone calls and texts on 3/4/21 informing us that Mark and Chris are no longer partners and would no longer be working on our home improvement projects and when asked to return our $4,475 deposit, we have been told to 'talk to our lawyers'. We have also been informed that Mark Hodges is filing for bankruptcy. Chris Delonzo, in a separate phone call with my wife, indicated that he couldn't walk away from completing the contract and would be happy to continue doing the work. When my wife asked him about getting Mark's portion of the deposit returned to us, Chris then informed her that he would not be continuing the work.

He utterly failed at the most important task which is moving all of my stuff. he took three days for the job even though he specified he would be working with four of his family members for two days. On Friday late afternoon he called me and told me he still had a brief bit of work to do in my home he specified about 10 minutes. On Saturday morning called me approximately 930 and told me he was on the way to my new house. I later discovered numerous items were missing from my kitchen including two chefs jackets, an expensive digital scale, four aprons, four really nice rolling pins and several cutting boards. I only learned of the missing items when I had emptied all the boxes and bags. after discovering the loss i recalled that the cleaning people had thrown out large trash bags that were really heavy. I had to remove them from the compost can as they were left behind by Roanoke city. Unfortunately I did not open the bags to discover the missing items. My guess is that he did not go back on Saturday to pick up these items. Additionally I was charged price wildly in excess of the estimate and he inflated the hours. On Saturday he charged me for three men eight hours. They left at 2 PM. One of them drove here directly between 930 and 10 so I know I was overcharged. Whenever I challenged some of the differences he became very argumentative and frightened me. I just wanted him out of the house. If he had any sense of customer service or honor he would refund me at least $1000 so that I can replace the items he left behind. He also was very careless in wrapping delicate items. He did not bring bubble wrap or proper moving blankets. He damaged one of my very expensive chess by taping it which pulled off the paint.
