While I think they did a pretty good job with the actual duct work (although no before/after pics so who knows?) they left a mess behind and after 2 weeks of correspondence with their owner she couldn't admit they did anything wrong and offered no real solution. First the good: Easy to set appointment up, guys showed up on time and completed the work in the time they said it would take. The bad: the guys came in the house with no foot booties on, covered in green spray paint (from painting dumpsters?), and left green marks in several spots on ceilings, walls, and vents, tracked the hose in several spots on my carpet, and left metal shavings near the unit where the hole was cut for service. After we called to voice our concern they did send the crew out the next day to address those, and to their credit the guys were apologetic and did make an effort to clean . However the carpet still has marks and there are several ceiling spots that will need to be touched up with paint. The major complaint was with the vent removal, where they pulled several lines of paint along with those vents from not cutting them first. In some spots the drywall came up with that paint. After we sent pictures to the owner she assured us it was caulk and not their problem. She never recommends caulk to customers however that was the solution to fix our problem, rather than offering a small discount off the $500+ we spent on the job. Luckily for my neighbors we went first and complained immediately as none of them had the same issues of careless vent removal or sloppy work in general. We are in a new build neighborhood where all of these houses were finished about the same time by the same foreman, and 2 of the other houses had used the same painter we did. If that wasn't the case I may have bought in to the owner claiming it was my builders fault, or the painter, but I don't think we have the special house here. While not a huge deal it is frustrating that I will now have to spend my free time patching drywall and repainting several walls/colors and hope I can match with the 2 yr old paint.

Around 6pm I checked in to see if he had come by and he said workers were still stuck and probably not today. I asked for Tuesday morning and he said "let me get my notes from today and I will let you know." Tuesday morning, I reach out to him. No response. Around 9am, sent another message and he says he's going to try between 4-5pm. Around 4:40pm, i ask if he came, and he said he's on his way and will be there in 15 minutes. THEN, he tells me what budget I had in mind and continues to tell me that they are in the competition rate with others. I was like does that mean you're pricey and he goes yes. So I get it, he doesn't want to do the work and I say that. He then claims that he took time out of his schedule to come and check out the lawn. I've had it with this guy and tell him I'm done with him. He then continues to send me a few more messages saying he's only a few minutes away, he can take a look, blah blah blah. Then he apologies for being busy this week. I am all about customer service. I understand you getting busy, but you can't even follow up? On top of that, you give me the 3rd degree and say we're a pricey company and that you took time out of your schedule? No thanks, moving on to someone who will provide their customer with respect.

John, the foreman who installed the patio was exacting in his installation. It is well and firmly laid and correctly angled and I am certain it will serve us well for many years. At first I thought tihe estimate was high, went ahead with the work anyway as we were anxious to schedule the work and it was competitive with most other estimates. When I saw the amount of work, the machinery used to do the job, dumptrucks, excavators, high tech tamping machines, etc I changed my mind. They carried off all the old patio and excavated material and were careful to protect the lawn and surrounding landscape. The topsoil, mulch and material used were all the best quality. I added on some work when I saw how professional and exacting their work was.. a rock path above our wall steps and some stone edging around an ivy bed and tree..all done to the same high standards as the patio. One lesson learned: If you're a "weekend-warrior, home-owner" type like me, DO ask how to load the paper SNUGLY into this beast, particularly if you plan to use thick paper like 20 or 36 grit. This machine is used by professionals. Homeowners will end up loading, re-loading and re-RE-loading heavy grit paper a few times before getting it snug (less than 1/32" play) on the drum. The good part: Once it's on snug, your paper can last up to an hour of continuous sanding! (1/8 inch or more of play between the drum and the paper results in immediate failure of the paper: Within seconds you'll hear a loud slapping of loose paper on a high-speed drum hitting the floor)
