Completely over priced and charged me for two days of storage(car was there less than 18 hours), never told me the cost upfront

This is a bad news bear operation. I don't care my car got towed but they have the worst location to get to. Make matters worse there are two mikes towing!! If you get towed at JFK use Jamaica water pollution control center in Uber to get catty corner across the street from it. It doesn't have an address nor a sign visible. There is a small sign that says two pound but if you see this sign you are basically inside of it. You can also use 134 st and 155 ave. Which doesn't work on Uber but you can work into google. If you get towed on the van wyck or the highway it's 816 liberty. If you go to liberty there is a guy named Anthony who is literally the least helpful human being alive he will go out of his way to disorient you and give you bad directions. Again. To the idiots who give this place bad reviews because your car got towed. Get over it! Your the same kind of people who would do 100 miles an hour get pulled over, get a ticket and have the nerve to call the cop the asshole! Having called some people idiots in my review may not get me any brownie points.. So here is where I categorize myself as an idiot aswell. Picking my parents up from their second vacation in 2 months may have made me angry considering I'm stuck in the blistering cold. So much so that I was able to successfully drain the battery on their car as I was waiting for them at JFK. Ooops, it happens! With 2 dead phones.. And mine with 17 percent clearly I panic with the pressure from my manic father. I call the first towing company on yelp which had 1 star.! Eeeeek! They came in a timely manner... And jumped the car in literally 2 minutes. And only charged $25! Heck if I knew how jump start a car.. I'd have my own little service by now. Long story short.. Never get a flat tire at JFK or you will be forced to deal with this nightmarish company. Mikes Towing seems to have cut some sort of deal with the JFK airport. A monopoly? I would put my money on it. People I know say that they heard on the internet that when they send someone, they're not sending their best. And this I can assure you, is true. When the Mikes Towing representative arrived he was asked twice "how are you doing?". Both times he said nothing, responding only with a cold stare and a cold heart. It made both myself and my girlfriend extremely uncomfortable and depressed. When he finally did respond he said "Taking it one day at a time" which I wasn't sure what that meant as I had no context. He aggressively asked if we had tried filling the tire with air. How would one fill their tire with air in an empty parking lot at 3am on a Sunday after getting off of a 5 hour flight? I'm not sure. He then insisted that he was "here to help us, ok?" I've never experienced help so violently thrust upon me. When it came time to take the hex nuts off the wheel he said "everyone's gotta help on this one" and forced my girlfriend to step on the wrench to remove half off the nuts. Again I felt uncomfortable watching her work so hard at 3:30am. Eventually he jacked the car up and put the spare tire on. The whole experience ended up costing us $0! read more

I was connected to this company through my AAA insurance. I initially thought the dispatcher had an attitude but decided I was being dramatic because I was in a stressful situation. She confirmed my location and told me the driver would be there in 30min. Okay, after waiting 2 hours, 30 minutes was not bad at all. After 45 min I called the driver and he told me he was on the "wrong side and had to come around". Okie dokie, no problem. 20 min passed after that I call again to ask was everything okay. He told me he was unable to tow my car because I am within JFK airport's parameters. I asked was he sure because the dispatcher confirmed my location and didn't say anything. He then told me nonchalantly he would call the dispatcher and have her call me. It is almost two hours later and I have not been contacted and am now waiting for a tow truck from another company. It is 25 degrees and I am absolutely freezing. I do not recommend this company, a little communication would have saved me so much time. read more

Don't leave you car unattended NO MATTER WHAT in front of JFK airport. These assholes will tow your car if you're gone for at least one minute. Ended up missing my flight twice, and paying $200+ to get my rental out of the tow yard... POS. read more

Don't waste your money or time with these guys they will damage your car and swear they had nothing to do with it. When my car got towed it had a full tank when I got it back it had 3/4 of a tank and a damaged rim. read more

To the people who are in JFK and have no other option but this place... I feel for you and your car. This company is the ONLY "certified" towing company on the whole of Port Authority OWNED territory (encompassing JFK INT'L Airport and its immediate area). They hold the monopoly to the entire PRIVATELY OWNED lands. And they know that people have no other choice, and will treat them such. The ONLY time they ever were prompt and quick were with the Port Authority Police Department (again, a PRIVATE police force that Port Authority OWNS) who speed along the taxiways regardless of aircraft waiting for take off or landings for no other reason than getting to their shift quickly. This is coming from a man who have had to work as an Air Traffic Controller under contract and had to see the poor souls from the tower(s) with their vehicles taken away. If you can, call a friend or relative over with jump cable leads or some other means to get your vehicle moving. Oh, and did I mention that they charge you TWICE for any area going outside of Port Authority lands? For the TLDR: Use these people as a last, LAST resort and ONLY when your vehicle is TRULY dead. I called up this company because my insurance had requested it and the lady(trash) answered with so much attitude and she mumbled. She was making up rules on her own . My poor father was stranded where mikes towing should've picked him up but they didn't. The lady was very disrespectful and spoke to me in an unpleasant manner. Where do I start how about first with the dispatcher Julissa, Julissa did I mention Julissa has the worst customer service etiquette that anyone can possibly have a get away with it second Mike's towing n JFK AIRPORT PORT AUTHORITY Monopoly system of not allowing other tow companies on to JFK property. SMH I've been working in JFK airport for 23 yrs and never knew how corrupt thing were. Mike's policy is $125 for them to pick up the car and an additional fee to drop off the car depending on the location on top of that Mike has another policy that they will allow your insurance company contracted tow company to pick up your car from there tow yard which IS located in JFK for a small gate fee of $75 so your total out-of-pocket fee would be $200 and they only accept cash from you your insurance company is not allowed to make payments over the phone so I had to pay out of pocket for them to pick up the vehicle for my job once the tow truck got to me I was told at that time that I had to pay cash because they were Cash and Carry business only the driver was nice enough to allow me to use the ATM at McDonald's where I was having a Car drop to to keep the price at $125 plus tax so if you're ever in JFK airport and you needed to enforce to use Mike's to just have them take it to the nearest Service Road and let your insurance company take it from there they are a total rip-off and you're at their Mercy and there's no way around it beware read more

I called mikes towing, my car was stolen by a buyer scamming me and the car was in a police impound for investigation, mikes towing is where the police is saying my car I located, the car was recovered on March 30th and the license plates and car were vouchered. The same person that ripped me off stealing the car made me aware of his location from several parking tickets from March 20th to the 30th. I just received two Parking tickets for my car that were both given on April 10th on Columbus Ave in Manhattan. The tickets say the plates don't match the registration. So even though they were closed but somebody answered they couldn't give me any details till tmrw when they open about my car. Meanwhile the car thief has three car keys mikes towing leaves towed cars outside because they have the smallest tow yard and right now I believe my car was stolen again or released to not the owener based on the tickets from the thief before the car was recovered and now still getting tickets. Very rude service. My battery died at JFK while waiting at arrivals at one of the terminals. The security guy called a Mike's towing for me and said they will come in a minute. I had also called my road side assistance. When Mike arrived after over and an hour. He didn't even get out the car and shout something at me, I said what did you say, and with an attitude he responded: I just asked you what do you need? I told him my battery had died and I asked him if it was my road side assistance company who contacted him? He, again with a nasty attitude said, no, and I am the only Towing Company allowed in here. I then asked him, so how much do you charge for a Jump Start, he then said with a sarcastic tone $5,000 for waking me up. I insisted and he said it's free, I then figured out it was my road side assistance company who had called him, since they sent me a text message.
