I also don't tend to laugh like a loud congested hyena, so maybe that doesn't hinder my view on the joint. The bartenders Morgan, Christina, John and Emma are all amazing. Top Golf does a terrible job of containing the golf balls inside their enclosure…read more My car was hit by a stray ball while driving past one of their locations, resulting in over $2,500 in damages. Top Golf is self-insured, and if they pay for the damage, it's very difficult to get a decent settlement. It took endless emails, estimates, and conversations with their "loss management" department to get me car repaired. If this is the way they operate for that kind of loss, what would happen if a customer was injured while visiting a Top Golf facility? I recommend going to a relatively safe restaurant or bar, and leaving your golfing to a driving range or Golf course. I've been a golfer for a long time. But, I want no part of an establishment that treats people the way Top Golf does if there's a problem. Top Golf is owned by Callaway. I may even sell my Callaway clubs due to Top Golf's management practices.

The Listening Room is truly for LISTENING. For a small donation of $20 you are allowed to listen to artists perform in a intimate venue. Prior to the concert, the owner Jim Pennington, informs you of the rules. To paraphrase Jim, "If you want to talk, drink and be rude, go down the street to a bar." I ADORE this concept of "no talking" while someone is performing. How often have you been to a venue where you couldn't hear the performer due to all the background noise? NOT happening here! Jim is the consummate host, selling assorted beverages and CD's of the performer with proceeds going to the artist. I highly recommend this venue to anyone in the Mobile or surrounding area. I do not live locally, only visiting once a year, but TLR has become a "must do" for our trips to Alabama.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but the feeling of the listening room was so unique and intimate- I loved it! The artist was a local star, but I knew nothing about him. Every song he played was so personal and wonderful. The crowd was respectful and everyone had their phones away during there concert. I was told that the Listening Room is special in this way, because people go there to listen- not to talk or stare at their phones. The set was almost 2 hours, but it felt much shorter due to the small and intimate space the music was being played in. I seriously loved going to a show at the Listening Room and I'd love to go back if I'm ever in Mobile!

Then, three minutes later, a manager comes out and says "People say you are weird. Stop being weird or leave." I did nothing but order a drink and sit down. It's a nasty space, full of creepy Stephen King character types. I felt threatened and unsafe. It's about the most unwelcoming place I've ever visited in the U.S. The space is also dingy and gross, and I was charged $16 for a single shot drink. (Maybe in New York, but in Mobile?) AVOID THIS PLACE unless you want to be treated rudely, get threatened, and basically thrown out. Any of the gay bars in New Orleans or Pensacola are both more fun and more welcoming.
