I had the seafood basket with a side, Caesar salad. I think the menu had it listed as six shrimp and two catfish fillets. Mine came with two fillets and four shrimp, the shrimp were quite small like 36-50 size, and very chewy. The fish was greasy but fairly moist, with decent crunch. To clarify the issue with the size of the shrimp, most restaurants in the area will serve 26-35 or larger with an entrée. The Caesar salad had great flavor and plenty of crunchy croutons and romaine stems, there was a few brown and wilted leaves mixed in so it was kind of off putting once I found those. The bread that came with the platter was lightly toasted but flavorless, took one bite, left the rest. Service was fairly lackluster, which is unusual given their high level of service at the downtown location. My side salad came out with my entrée at the same time, which is kind of a pet peeve of mine, but maybe I should've asked that it come out ahead of my hot food . I just usually assume that most restaurants do this so maybe that one's on me. Neither my fish or shrimp were very warm, almost like they were waiting on the salad? Also, it was kind of creepy that a lot of the servers and staff were just standing around leaning on the walls at the back of the dining room, just seemed off. I actually came in here, wanting to have their tuna sandwich, which I've had in the past at the other location and it was phenomenal. Sadly, it is no longer on the menu. We'll definitely come back here and give it another shot because i do like the menu options and atmosphere.

Been craving good wings since getting down here, and the search was starting to affect my…read morepersonality. Then I found LoDa Bier Garten. THESE MFS RIGHT HERE. Got 18 wings for $24. I did the math. That's $1.33 a wing. My family hasn't seen me this engaged in years. We got Garlic Parm, Mango Habanero, and Buffalo Dry Rub. All amazing. I've thought about them several times since, including during conversations where someone probably needed my full attention. Cannot wait to come back for Saints football and give these wings the emotional stability the team cannot provide. The beer selection was ridiculous. Over 100 on tap. A few I asked for were out, which was disappointing, but I couldn't really sustain the outrage with another 90-something options staring at me. Sir, we have other liquids. Please lower your voice. Mac and cheese was solid. Burgers were overcooked and honestly not good. Double it and give it to the next person, although legally you should probably tell them what happened to mine. Come for wings and beer. The burger has chosen a different path. We sat outside. Tons of outdoor seating, including tables along the street protected by a little wooden post. Looked at the post. Looked at traffic. Decided that was between me and God. Inside had sports on the TVs and people having a great time. There's also a busted door in the men's stall, pictured in this review. Usually a concern. Unfortunately, by then the wings had bought my silence. Our server was fantastic. Didn't catch his name, but he had longer black hair and sounded like he could teach you to surf without making you feel bad about your body. Knew the beers, gave helpful recommendations, and stayed on top of everything while bouncing between about four tables. Meanwhile, I had one responsibility; eat chicken, and needed extra napkins. Highly recommend for drinks, hanging out, and especially the wings. I'll absolutely be back. Somebody check on that wooden post. He's got a lot of families depending on him.

One reason we had Loda in mind is because on a previous day, we saw a sign outside their storefront advertising their award-winning burger. I had it and it was good. Service was great too. We visited on a Saturday night after 8:30. During our visit, it wasn't too busy. This place works as a sports bar because there are TVs galore on the lower level. We sat upstairs in a big U-shaped booth (we had a party of eight). There aren't as many TVs upstairs and unfortunately, the TV in our booth wasn't working. We wanted to watch a specific college football game. Oh well. Loda is casual, unpretentious, and laid-back. I had a Kona Big Wave Golden Ale (#56, $7 for 16 oz draft) and the Loda Burger ($15) with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and pepper jack cheese (+$2). I also had some of the Humpty Dumpling Pot Stickers ($10) and Fried Pickles ($10). The burger was quite tasty and satisfying. You can't go wrong with it. On the menu, the pot stickers were described as a "South Alabama take on Chinese gyoza" with "ancient Chinese secret spices." Haha. Thinking back, I don't recall any sort of Alabama influence. They just tasted like standard dumplings to me. As for the fried pickles, I'm generally not a fan of them, but I thought Loda's version was among the better I've had. Our server was great. I wish I remembered his name so I could give him a shout-out here.

I decided to tru the Wings, if a bar messes up wings then, the rest is a sheet show. We had the opportunity to be taken care of by Elise, she pays attention to all her guests all whilst having conversations and the best part is that she remembers her guests names and makes it a point to build some rapport. It's the small things that matter in a BIG way! The Wings were juicy and flavorful, all that talk turned out to be true!, awesome! The shrimp were perfectly seasoned with a flavorful blackened crust, piled generously onto fresh bread, and served with crisp lettuce, tomato, and slaw. The pimento cheese sandwich was rich, buttery, and grilled to perfection, with the creamed spinach being a standout side that was surprisingly addictive. Service was friendly and attentive, and despite the restaurant's popularity, everything arrived promptly.
