Growing up, this station was the end of the line for the south leg of the LRT. This meant that the…read morestation was always pretty busy with commuter traffic and all of the buses running through to service the southern communities. Since the new stations have been built further south I haven't really seen too much of a slowdown here. Sure there are a few less buses, but there is still a shortage of parking. Over the years things have deteriorated. There used to be a convenience stand which has been shuttered for as long as I can remember. The city has stopped replacing the windows opposite from the platform. I guess this is because jerk-offs were continually smashing them out. So now you can be sheltered from the rain or snow, but not the wind. For what it is, it serves its purpose, but if you're expecting more things like what you see in other city's stations then you'll be sadly let down.

I do like this station due the the wall artwork. This is one of the least boring Station. This is the stop to the Saddledome and Calgary Stampede. During the Stampede time, it is super crowded here.

This is your stop for The Saddledome, The BMO Centre and of course, The Calgary Stampede! Important: Heading from downtown, it's the first stop outside of the "Free Fare Zone," so if you're gonna get off at Victoria Park/ Stampede you'll need to have a ticket. The transit cops (and even the real police) very often do ticket checks at the stop. Not only is it so close to the free zone, everyone exiting needs to exit through the same stairwell making it very easy for them to stop you and check for a ticket. Make sure you buy a ticket if you're getting off here, and you know... Always. If you're at the station for a concert or game, there' a good chance you'll see "Sax" the busker wailing away. Make sure to flip him a buck or two.

The Heritage Station is a C Train station heading toward Somerset-Bridlewood in the South West…read morequadrant. This is one of the few stations that is connect to the bus loop. It is convenient for people who needs to catch a bus. There are two exit here. Heritage Station is 5 mins away from the Heritage Station Development plaza. There you will find lots of restaurants, coffee shops, offices and Save On Foods. If you are heading to the Heritage Park this is also the station where you would get off.

The station is an island platform and has only the occasional homeless man asking for money but that's it on safety wise. It is far better than Southland station (a stop south of heritage) because I feel more safe and comfortable when around more students going to school or MRU ( which is connected to the max teal line) In the bus loop area there are a bunch of shelters and also a ton of bus routes going in all directions. It can get pretty busy at the station and on the trains in the morning around 7-9 ish and in the afternoon at around 3-5 ish during the rush hours. It's a really nice station and I do recommend it more than southland

Sunnyside Station is the first station after the free zone and is also the first station northwest…read moreof downtown. So if you are heading toward Tuscany or downtown, you would pass by this station. The station is located close to Kensington. Super convenient station. It is close to all the restaurants and stores. As well, it is in front of Safeway. Great for people like me who lives beside the C-Train where I can pick up groceries easily and head back.

The train station you should get off at for a fun summer's day (or winter, tough guy) stroll…read morethrough the shops and pubs of Kensington. This is also the place you would want to get off at if you're looking for a stroll along the river, and maybe head to Prince's Island Park. It's also the last stop before downtown and the first station out for the "free fare zone" leaving downtown. ON that - This is important, especially if you're visiting during Stampede. You'll notice that Calgary's trains don't have any turnstiles - the trains are free downtown but then we like to rely on the honour system for all the stops outside of downtown, well, that and the transit cops who sometime ride the train, or more commonly, are positioned by the exit doors on stations with only one exit. Sunny Side station, however, opens to the outside world and you can exit the platform wherever. So just sayin', if you ever accidentally misplaced your train ticket, this would be a good, low-heat spot to get off. (That or Lions park and Banff Trail) Be wary though, Sunnysideis a popular spot for the train cops to get on. #TheMoreYouKnow. They've put a fair amount of work into this station in the last year. They've upgraded it to accommodate 4-car trains - I don't know when the city will be switching to this, but it looks like they're preparing! And more immediately important is that they've improved lighting in and around the station, as well as they've gotten rid of all the creepy in-the-bush hiding spots. I definitely feel like it's more safe to be at late at night with the added visibility.

Centre Street Station is located along the "no fare zone" on 7th Avenue in downtown Calgary. This…read morestation has a slightly elevated platform and does not have parking or plug-in stalls available. Easy to read monitors tell you when the next train is coming - some go to the northwest (the McKnight/Westwinds line) and some go south (Somerset/Bridlewood) so pay attention to which train you're boarding. The station is under cover and somewhat protected from the elements. Like all LRT stations, it is non-smoking but people still manage to stand nearby and puff away. Ticket vending machine is easy to operate.

The station is a hit and miss. There were a few incidents that happened here from time to time. I usually try to avoid heading Northeast or here but I will do it for Jollibee. This station does have a few homeless people sleeping here at night time. This is because they have a section that is indoor, covered and heated (where you purchase the one-time use ticket).

Somewhat isolated from the weather, I wouldn't want to be standing out there for long in the winter time. There are ticket vending machines at both ends. Note that they do not accept notes or "swipe and sign" credit cards. Bummer, I had to find somewhere to break a C$10 so that I could buy a frickin' ticket.

First off, I like the fact that the train is free when travelling in downtown. It helps for people…read morelike me who lives downtown and don't want to walk that extra block. I usually take the train during lunch time and get off somewhere close and then head for lunch. Just awesome. I also sometime take this train from one end of the free zone to the other end. To do my grocery shopping. Saves a few block of walking which adds up to like 15 mins.
