Lion's Park Station - It's the station for when you just gotta go to Sears!…read more I'm kidding - there's also a pretty good game store in North Hill Mall this station also serves - http://www.yelp.ca/biz/games-people-play-calgary?hrid=aYwiWu-THeFuZUkTxI-0XA Other than that, well... Unless you live within a few block radius of Lion's Park Station, I'd say there's a good chance you've never set foot on this platform. But if you were, you'd find 90's green painted metal structures that cover Calgary (think Eau Claire Market), with a somewhat old-timey-wimey train station shape to them. The ticket machines accepts debit/credit. Not all stations do, but it looks like Lion's Park has even more awesome 90's features than the green steel. Bundle up - there are no heating elements in and of the shelters at this stop. The shelter's are actually surprisingly hidden and offer a lot of privacy. I like the movement towards fully glass shelters we've been seeing because the feel safer. The one's at Lion's Park can start to feel a little claustrophobic when you've got some interesting late night character standing in the only doorway separating you with a brick wall. Lion's Park got itself a bit of an extension this year. It's now ready and able to take on 4-train cars when the time come. The pathway is longer but the shelter stays the same.

Easy access for mobility challenged. Take a few minutes and visit nearby Century Gardens and listen to the waterfall. Ticket vending machines accept coins and proximity cards only. So if like me you're rolling with a pocketful of paper money, you'll need to wander over to Macs and buy something so I could purchase a ticket. The Calgary Transit system is a "proof of purchase" one, so you must have a paid ticket or validated card with you at all times (except in the free fare zone) to display to a ticket inspector.

If you want a Walk to 7th St. if you'd like to take either a Northwest - Tuscany or West bound train, or the Downtown West/Kirby station if all you need is a Westbound, 69th St. Train. It the first stop on the Free Fare Zone. It's also the place to get off if you want to do some parkour at the retro 8th & 8th park, attempt a meal at the sketchiest McDonalds in the city, or buy a pack of papers from the infamous Crack Mac's. But they've really cleaned this place up. It bright and open and not too many places to hide, making it feel less "stabby" than it ever has.

There is a down side the stops downtown attract shady people. If this is not for you keep to yourself and get to your destination. You stop and start look around being tourist that's when they will start hitting you up for money or sell drugs. Fear not this is not at every station there is police that patrol the station to keep people safe. The C-train can get you from the Deep South to the N.W. or to the N.E. as well S.W. There is 2 lines blue line or red line you will see train maps at every station, for the destination of each line. Red line goes north west to south and visa versa. Blue line goes north east to west and visa versa. You can transfer at any station downtown. When downtown it's free to use the train this is only downtown once you leave the core you have to pay and have a validated ticket. This is patrolled with transit officials. You can find ticket machines at every station which takes money, debit or credit cards. This is a great way to get around!! I always take transit when going downtown beats paying for parking, but that's just me.
