So we walked in here early one evening to have a bit of wine before dinner. We love wine bars and trying new and interesting wines that they sell, so we were sold by the name. We walked down the steps into a very retro style pub area. We walked in to see two women sitting at the bar (we assume they were regulars) and the pubman! We asked to see the wine list. They don't really have a wine list. One of the patrons said we could have red or white. Not so promising. However, the patrons and the barman were extremely friendly asking us about our holiday and where we were from. Definitely a friendly, local bar!
The barman gave us a couple of wines to try. To be honest, they weren't really that exotic (but I guess we shouldn't expect exotic in that part of the world). The red we tried was Echo Falls. The white was Julio Gallo. We had a couple of glasses of the white and sat down. The two regulars were having quite an amusing conversation. Needless to say, it wasn't exactly what we were looking for that afternoon, so we left after one glass each, but it was quite a friendly place with a great atmosphere! read more
