At the end of the night as we're getting ready to go back home, we went back for one last drink. We both presented valid, unexpired South Carolina driver's licenses that were genuine and in good condition. At the door, the bouncer told us they don't typically accept South Carolina IDs, but ultimately allowed us inside. When we went to order drinks, the bartender refused to serve us, claiming our IDs had "scanned as fake." When we questioned that, we were then told they didn't actually have an ID scanner. We even offered to have local law enforcement verify that our IDs were legitimate, but they still refused to serve us. We completely understand the importance of checking IDs and appreciate that businesses have to be cautious. However, being given conflicting explanations and feeling like our valid out of state IDs were dismissed without a legitimate verification process was frustrating and embarrassing. If there is an official policy regarding South Carolina IDs, it should be clearly communicated. If there isn't, I hope management addresses this so other visitors with valid out of state identification don't have the same experience.

Great seafood. Great view…read more The main building looks like a freezer warehouse. The outdoor view is worth the drive, and the seafood is great. We got rich yummy chowder bursting with plump little clams. And a pile of shrimp. We ate on the deck overlooking a peaceful inlet of the Homosassa River in FL. Cold beer was icing on the cake. It can get a little crowded. We were so relaxed, we spent a little more than we intended. But no regrets.

We wanted to make the most of our last day camping so we decided to come here for seafood with everyone else. I don't know why people rave about this place. It's like a hole in the wall seafood out in the middle of nowhere. I guess this is where the locals come to eat. Oh yeah, it's CASH ONLY. I ordered the crab leg dinner and my husband ordered the full size platter of grilled shrimp. When we got there, everyone was outside sitting down. We went to sit down with our 8 month old son who was in his car seat and someone asked if we ordered and we said no? Apparently you had to order from the bar. We didn't know. We're not locals lol. When we got our food, my crab legs didn't come out steaming hot. And what they gave me to open the crab legs was a joke. They give you a small wooden hammer and a stick to open the crab legs. I was really pissed. Someone who's eaten crab legs before, we don't use that!!! I don't mind working for my dinner but DAMN!! So luckily, my husband had his multitool with him and I was able to use that to crack open my crab legs. When I took the first few bites, they were soooo under seasoned!!! It almost tasted like straight up cardboard!! My husband insisted I eat since he has to keep an eye on our son because I didn't want to put him car seat on the ground and he had to hold his carrier since it was sitting on the seat, and it didn't help when there was hurricane force winds blowing through. He didn't get to eat majority of his grilled shrimp. As a NON-LOCAL, don't waste your time or your money coming here for seafood. Especially since they give you the crappiest and cheesiest tools for your crab legs. I ended up asking my hubby to stop by somewhere on the way back to our campground so I can eat some real food. I was really disappointed with this place.

The service was the highlight of the visit--the bartenders were genuinely friendly, attentive, and made me feel welcome. That's the main reason I'm giving this place two stars. The food, however, was disappointing. I ordered my burger medium, but it arrived raw in the center. The onion rings were overly greasy with a heavy, unimpressive batter. After reading other reviews, I noticed someone else had a similar experience with the patty melt, so my meal may not have been an isolated issue. The atmosphere wasn't for me either. It feels much more like a neighborhood dive bar than a restaurant, with multiple TVs, loud music, constant chatter, and live entertainment outside all competing at once. If you're looking for a lively sports bar where you can watch a game, have a drink, and socialize, this may be exactly what you're after. I prefer a quieter, more relaxed dining experience, so it simply wasn't a good fit. The restaurant also has a dog-friendly patio, which many people enjoy, though it's not something I personally look for when dining out. Overall, I think Norton's has a loyal local following, and I can understand why some people enjoy the casual bar atmosphere. For me, though, the combination of the underwhelming food and the very loud environment means I won't be returning. The staff deserved better than the meal they were serving, because their friendliness and service were the best part of the visit.

She gave some excellent…read morerecommendations and made sure I enjoyed one of their signature cocktails, which was a great way to start the meal. I ordered the blackened mahi sandwich with seasoned fries. The fish tasted fresh, the fries were crispy and well-seasoned, and the blackened seasoning on the mahi had just the right amount of flavor without overpowering the fish. This waterfront restaurant did not disappoint. They also have an outdoor tiki bar. If you're looking for a fun, laid-back atmosphere on the water, you will find it here. You can relax with a drink, enjoy the scenery, and take in the beautiful views, especially the sunset. I'd definitely recommend Riverfront Social whether you're stopping in for lunch, grabbing drinks with friends, or looking for a casual dinner with a great view. I had a bacon and mushroom pasta that was great but did need a piece of garlic bread and it would have been perfect. I had to ask our server if we could get started with drinks before we ordered. He was pleasant about it and probably just forgot? Service was just ok. Didn't really have any ambiance. It was late afternoon and the restaurant was quiet. We are new to the area and are trying out the local restaurants, so while I doubt I'll go back, if asked I would recommend them for their food quality.
