I've taken kickboxing classes for about 5 years and was interested in mixing things up when I got an Instagram Rumble ad.
Parking is not a problem. The garage walkway leads right to the studio and you enter your license plate number and parking is covered. They have lockers (no lock needed) and a restroom.
It is definitely not going to be everyone's cup of tea. I, personally, like the darker gym lighting and EDM-like music setup with the instructor in a teaching/DJ style area in the front. The Rumble Rounds are fun and motivating with black lights turning on and the beat dropping to really go all out with your cardio. The sessions truly go by fast. It's fun when people wear colors that pop during black light time.
This is a great gym if you're looking for cardio, hands-down. The floor side weights range from 5-20 pounds with knuckle weights 1-3 pounds, so definitely designed for more HIIT types moves. Instructors are friendly and welcoming.
Tips I'll share if you're going to try this gym out:
1. Avoid F16 spot. It's too close to the instructor's box and the spotlight on the instructor is blinding when you look ahead or up. I really struggled with crunches on the bench and being blinded by that light when it was on.
2. Bring your own towel! Use it and be mindful of your sweat for the next person. Common courtesy and gym etiquette clean up your sweat.
3. Take Vanessa's class! She's great and gives modifications and focuses a lot on proper form. Ross and her were instructors at another kickboxing studio I joined a couple years ago and they're fantastic instructors and great vibes.
4. Don't wear all black. It's fun to have white on and colors that show during the workout.
5. Bring your tennis shoes! I'm used to kickboxing gyms where shoes aren't allowed so still getting used to that change. read more
