Beautiful setting, but we went for lunch (15 of us). $330 later, I can tell you that the food is, for the most part, awful. Processed cheese is in many of the dishes. The fish tacos were not eaten. The sandwiches ended up in the trash. The only thing Joe's got right were the french fries. The french fries are amazing. I can't comment on the drinks, because we did not order any. read more

LOVE this place! Friend and I came here two nights in a row during our stay in St. John. The place has outdoor seats right on the beach under a few trees with beautiful lights. The seats are facing the water making it a great place just to enjoy good food drinks and chill. You can take a dip in the water any time during your dinner. I got the peel and eat shrimp two days in a row ( MUST try!); shrimp and corn fritters were great too. Get the bushwhacker and BBC if you want frozen drinks. The bar faces the ocean and has seating on the beach. We went there for happy hour and the drinks were $3.00 for beer and cocktails. I love the lime in de coconut drink and the island girl! The food was also very good and better than I expected. It was very pleasant to watch the sunset on the beach and relax. I would definitely recommend! read more

We stopped here for lunch before returning to St Thomas, wouldn't mind going back Service (2*) - It's a bar that serves food, find a seat at a table and hope you're seen or wait awkwardly for someone to recognize you want to eat food and seat you. Quite a bit of people, but the staff were too focused on someone's birthday that they didn't really pay attention to the tables. Food (3*) - It was OK. I got a turkey wrap and my wife got the grilled cheese, both were good enough to take left-overs back with us, but not very memorable. Location (4*) - Located right on Cruz Bay, with a small sandy beach and a CornHole game setup (bean bag toss game). Okay best pizza on the Island..I swear they must have one of those brick ovens in the back. This bar is nestled on the beach and you can sit with your chair in the sand, enjoy beverages or food and watch the sun set. They have the best happy hour too which are $3 "what you call it" from 3-6pm. Can't beat that deal! One of the best happy hours on the island! $3 you call its are a good deal no matter where you are. They also make the best painkillers on the island! My first experience here was for my sister's wedding rehearsal dinner. They had set up our tables out on the beach just on the other side of their patio. We had lovely appetizers of coconut fried shrimp and conch fritters. Both were great, but conch fritters are a Caribbean specialty and theirs were a revelation. For our main course we had both steak kabobs and mahi mahi served buffet-style with a lovely Caesar salad. The steak was good but the mahi mahi was the real ticket. I really only enjoy seafood when it is at its freshest, and it didn't get any fresher than when it was swimming earlier that day. In all it was a lovely meal and a very memorable evening. Awesome happy hour...$3.50 "you call it" (basically you can get any drink for $3.50). So many of their drinks are good, but I recommend the one that tastes like banana. It's not overwhelming, just perfect. They are right on the beach so you also have a great view and can watch as the little boats come in and dock for a drink. Such a fun atmosphere. read more

First, the happy hour prices are awesome! $3 for any drink from 4-6! One of the best happy hour deals on the island. Second, the food is really good. a beachy dive bar actually on the beach with killer views and pretty good drinks... yes please! we can for happy hour 4-6 pm with a $3 you call it deal. we tried lots of options from painkillers, mojitos, margaritas (frozen and on the rocks), lime in da coconut etc to coronas (we were there for a while). the drinks were all pretty standard of the premade from concentrate mixed variety, but so is everything else on the island. we also ordered fish tacos, jerk chick quesadilla, and mahi mahi sandwich. all were actually pretty decent and priced around $12 each. the salsa that came with the tacos and quesadilla tasted off to me. but each had enough seasoning that you didnt really need it anyway. the fish sandwich had a large portion of grilled fish that i ended up eating without the bun and enjoyed the pickled pineapple (canned im pretty sure) and jalepeno salsa / chutney that came of the side for some added flavor. great views. friendly enough service. good place to get tipsy and have a snack while on vacay. read more

This review is about their food. If you want a drink and a nice beach view, this bar plus all their neighbors will serve you well. Ok, on to the food! Pretty dang boring, under seasoned and flat on flavor. We ordered our food during a fairly dead evening. Out came soggy fries and a lobster roll so loaded down with mayo, why even bother putting shellfish in the roll. Joe's Rum Hut Bar is right overlooking the beach in Cruz Bay. It's a short walk from the ferry and right in town. We went here for a happy hour pina colada after the beach (buy one get one free! Can't complain about that!) and were impressed with how delicious they were. The service was awesome as was the view of the ocean. The bartender made us a pina colada on the house which was pretty awesome as well. We didn't try any of the food, but it's an awesome place to grab a midday drink! read more

I had to wait at the bar for about 10 minutes to get someone to place the order, but after they got done talking with their friends the staff took our order, The Chickjen Parm sandwich was encrusted with, my guess cheese. Was not eaten. The Italian sub was bathed in Mayo, although the menu did not mention mayo. It did mention the there wpould be Guacamole, no Mayo. Given my allergy to Mayo & no Epi Pen present much of the sandwich was discarded. Each sandwich came with a large portion of spiced slim fries. These as well were not eaten. Great food & great service! I sat at the bar by myself and was taken care by the bartender whose name was Abby! She was very kind and gave excellent service. Her along with her manager made me feel really welcomed. I had a burger with just cheese and bacon. The burger was cooked perfectly and the fries were really good!
